Medicine wheel? Aboriginal symbol What is an Aboriginal medicine wheel?
There's one near my sister's place, though that one has more spokes Medicine wheel - Wikipedia
I'm not from the area but I am indigenous and this seems highly highly unlikely.
Im betting alot they are some byproduct of a local industry in some way or another.

Ok I was looking more on google maps to take some pics to explain why thats not what they are, but just, theres so many reasons and thats just, obvs not what they are just trust me on this one lol

Today’s Globe and Mail story has the only new piece of information. The writer, with the permission of a parent, interviewed a teenager who says that he was camping with McLeod and Schmegelsky when Schmegelsky was using Ritalin recreationally.

If Schmegelsky was using Ritalin regularly, and especially if he, and perhaps McLeod, were using it after they left Port Alberni, that puts a whole new spin on what has happened. It could explain a lot of their behaviour. Do a search on recreational use of Ritalin and Ritalin withdrawal.

Too close of buddies to do this. The "lone" hitchhiker was a ploy to likely try an ambush.

Where did this hitch hiker incident supposedly take place?

Can someone please tell me which "camps" we're in now?

We have:

1. Acting out a fantasy, living out a video game in real time.

2. Thrill killers.

3. Drug use.

Please add and amend. It's tough to keep up.

The wifi extends into the parking lot. I've used it many times in the parking lot.

And it's not "cheap wifi." It's just wifi, the same as anyone has in their home. Have you tested the lag time? Stop making things up.

A quick Google search shows that McDonald's has the fastest free WiFi out of all fast food joints clocking in at 24 mbs/sec:

The Fastest Free Nationwide Wi-Fi of 2018

You can 100% game on this. This is faster than some people PAY for their home internet, lol. Mind you, this isn't every McDonald's but from my personal experience with McDonald's WiFi speeds they are rather excellent (use them on the road very often on my pit stops).

Well then I guess it probably depends on the specific McDonalds you're at. Whenever I've had to use McDonalds wifi (or any other free fast food wifi), it's difficult to even load a basic web page, let alone play online games.

Yeah Im leaning on botched robbery or perhaps even impulsive thrill kill. BS at the least seems inclined in that direction. Then because of their outlook, beliefs, age, etc, were able to "run with it" to some degree, so to speak. But not a lot about this is saying "pre-planned spree" to me atm. Who knows though we're not working with alot of info

I'm leaning toward that sort of scenario, too. I don't think any of these crimes were pre-planned before the journey, and it seems that they might have resulted from impulse and opportunity. I think a botched robbery is less likely, but still possible.

Just pull the hard drive? It's literally as simple as that. Bryer is a gamer. He'd know this.

Maybe he did pull the hard drive and has it with him

Sure! I've no idea what it is but someone's gone to a lot of trouble to cut through the trees to make it. One thing I can state with certainty is that this is totally unrelated to the fugitives.

I've used public wifi, including McDonalds, Starbucks, hotels I've stayed at, etc. It's generally fine for something like browsing Websleuths, but it's still noticeably slower than my home or work networks. Possibly due to the number of people connecting, perhaps McDonalds doing throttling because they would prefer that people not sit at a table for two hours to watch Netflix.

You can google and find complaints about the speed of playing online games like League of Legends while using McDonalds wifi.

Theres not really "camps"
And really theres only a few things people seem to be going back and forth on

-If this was all pre-planned, if it was total impulse, or some, and if so what, combination of the two.
-possibly a variant of the above, but whether their main motivation now is escape/survival or committing more violence
-If they are still in the bush near gilliam (or ever were) or if they got a ride out/ stole another car (or even had another car before burning the rav)

I totally agree. And who know what else they're accustomed to using. If they can't find
ritalin, how about some Adderal? Or how about some home made meth?
Young users without a lot of cash will buy and use whatever they can get ahold of.
All the above are stimulants that hype you up.
Give false confidence, and impair judgement.
Yup, could explain a lot.

I dont know anything about 'steam' or 'rust' or online video games but I'm sure someone monitors new accounts and such.
If these guys did manage to find a way to the internet somehow they surely wouldnt log into their existing accounts, they'd likely create new ones.
I wonder how many new accounts get created a day for these things and if the person that monitors new accounts can track where the accounts are being opened.
I personally believe if they're not already dead that they've found their way into a home.

I can 100% attest that Valve (the company that created Steam) does NOT monitor accounts or account setup. I can say for certain they have little cyber security. I worked for Valve for 3 months, and my husband for 4 years. Valve is amazing in a lot of ways, and I love them, but the one place they messed up was security.

Make themselves seem smarter? This started on July 12 with the first murder on July 14/15. It is now July 27. They have not been caught in over 2 weeks. If it is a game, they are winning.

I have seen lots of baseball teams leading after 8 innings, only to get blown out in the 9th. The two killers may be ahead in the game at the moment, but they are not in complete control, necessarily, of when the "game" ends. Ultimately, there will be no winners in this game, but if there were, it will surely not be them. RCMP will ultimately end this game, probably with the help of a nation of eyes. JMO

My account is new but I’ve been around WS for years but couldn’t remember my old accounts password and the reset function wasn’t working. Anywhoo ive always found this site to have fairly accurate theories and information in the past which is why I’m back.

I personally think these boys were gone before the rav4 was found. If I understand the timeline properly they weren’t even suspects yet, at least not publicly. Another thing to keep in mind is hadn’t they just stopped for fuel outside Gillam? I thought it was a gas station clerk who sold them 20 bucks in fuel and a couple drinks that recognized them after the fact??? Why buy gas just to burn the vehicle? And why head in to no mans land when you’ve had zero pressure from LE yet?

On a separate note I do a fair bit of traveling and use public wifi spots in Ontario McD’s Tim’s etc and typically will “try” and use an iPad or laptop from the car usually parked as close to building as I can. In my experience I haven’t found a public wifi that would be able to game on without being in the restaurant and hooked directly to the router.

But what would be the point? If he bought/stole a new desktop and plugged in the hard drive, and reconnected to Steam, he'd be connecting to Steam under the same account he used at home and would be easily tracked. If they are that dumb, they probably would have been caught by now.
