I agree, camo is a very popular wardrobe choice in this country.

That being siad, he looks like he has real military gear, so he either stole it or went to an army surplus shop. Not exactly the real tree kind...
I live in a small City. And I have a camo purse, camo running shoes, camo pants, camo jacket, and some camo t-shirts, and some camo ball caps. My little dog also has a little camo jacket sweater thing.

They are playing a game.

If so I can’t see any other explanation than they’re both dangerously disturbed individuals who place no value on their own lives, let alone others.

Canadian policing at its best. The RAV4 didn't show up as stolen? Did they bother to check the plate? Check for ownership? If they were acting so sketchy, why didn't they check these basic things?

The RAV4 wasn’t reported stolen as it belonged to RD who wasn’t reported missing. His body hadn’t been identified he was basically a John Doe.

One would think that searchers could form a line with people, drones and other resources and move towards the end of the peninsula. If they don't find any sign of them, then I hope they can rule out the sighting.
@otto, I've been watching the wind reports and wondered if it might be too windy to put up the drones? Does anyone know for these commercial style drones what the weather conditions need to be in order to safely fly?

@otto is your sense that the 2 suspects are off the peninsula and heading south by now? The accounts of the limping of one along with the weaving walking mentioned yesterday have me wondering if physically the 2 are simply spent and cannot carry on much longer?

@Xyzzia you are officially nominated for "Post of the Day"!

Thanks for a good chuckle! Think we all needed it!

Yes, in substance, the Canadian test is similar even if the process is different. Both countries, when it comes to criminal law, are rooted in English common law.

So essentially the McNaughton test.

if it truly was the suspects at the dump- LE canine would have picked up their scent. By picking up a scent the dogs would have given le reason to remain vigilant in the search area.
instead, the search has been scaled down, meaning there was no scent- making it doubtful that it was the suspects.
chess game- their move

A couple of things: 1. Do they or do they not have a gun. 2. If so, do they still have it? 3. If they never had a gun, were the victims murdered by gunshot? 4. How did the back window of the adventurers van get blown out? Are any of the following possible answers to those questions? 1. Yes, they had that pellet gun gift from Dad, suitable for playing games in the woods, not suitable for a carrying out a murder spree. 2. If they still had any gun, why wouldn't the constabulary find some evidence in the bush - animal or bird carcass, shell casings, something and, assuming the Winnipeg Wolf Clan sighting at the dump really was the fugitives would they run away or stand their ground for more murdering. They would be in desperate need of transportation and the Clan scouts had a truck. 3. Police reports say the adventurers died by "gun violence". I don't know exactly what that means. I suppose there are several possible interpretations, including accidental firearm discharge. But whose gun or guns were involved? How about that guy who seemed to be arguing with the couple? I haven't read that he has been discounted as a suspect. Could it have been his gun? How about the couple themselves. According to the early report at Woman saw man in heated exchange with slain tourist couple Fowler had been in Canada for several months. This would have been ample time for him to acquire a properly registered rifle in Canada for adventure travel into the northlands and possible confrontation with bears, etc. and finally 4. The window in the van was reportedly blown out from within, and that is baffling but very interesting. Night. Pitch black. Couple sleeping in their van. Racket outside awakens them. Something trying to haul open the van doors! Bear! Lucas grabs his rifle and shoots blindly through the window! But it's not a bear. It's ????? someone as yet unidentified. So many questions. So many possibilities. I hope they are finally answered correctly and the families of those poor victims of such senseless violence can find peace. All my opinion, of course.
Sounds like the beginnings of a book.

By the time LE arrived in York Landing, the suspects could have made some decent headway, but I continue to have a hard time believing two teenagers could be living in the wilderness among bears and everything else, and just escape unscathed and without a trace in just a few hours or less before LE arrived with helicopters. Did they have scent dogs out there? Wouldn't there be something, some footprints atleast, anything to go on to conclude they had been there beyond just the tip? How could these guys stay undercover this long? I just hope LE is looking in the right spot.

Technically we don't know who owns the RAV4 as no news on that topic from the RCMP so far as I know.

And those of us that live near a base... even seeing someone walking in a grocery store in full out camo would not be out of place. I wouldn't even look twice... probably not even once actually.

totally agree, I see it every single day and I wouldn't look twice.

Regarding psychotic symptoms during ADHD treatment, the article states 6%, the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry says 6 children.

"48% OF SUBJECTS OF ONE STUDY WHO TOOK ADHD MEDICATIONS EXPERIENCED SIDE EFFECTS LIKE SLEEP PROBLEMS AND "MOOD DISTURBANCES." IN ANOTHER, 6% OF CHILDREN SUFFERED PSYCHOTIC SYMPTOMS, INCLUDING THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE.

Ok. I'm not sure how psychosis automatically translates to violent behavior.

Haha thank you. <modsnip>
I wonder if I put the little camo sweater on my black Pomeranian dog and put her outside she would go on a licking Rampage? She already thinks she's a little black wolf. She could easily lick somebody to death.Haha

To be fair, he wasn't a police officer. He was a peace officer. I'm not sure they even have access to looking up plates and such. I don't know though so I can't say... but he wasn't an RCMP officer

That's what I thought. An RCMP officer would not give an interview like this in the middle of this unfolding event. The Daily Mail article specifically states that he is "an RCMP Constable," many times. Do you have a source that he isn't? He isn't shown in uniform, either.
Has anybody found and or posted this yet?
LF’s Bonaventure van ad when it was for sale. From an auction in Alberta bought June 2018. These pics look dead on match to the crime scene highway pics. Showing exterior and interior angles of the van.
Discussion and thoughts?

1986 CHEV BONAVENTURE VAN

Cool. That tells us a lot. It *did* come with Alberta plates and thus was probably registered in Alberta. (Do the plates match?)

Also, sold June 20, so quite recently.

At about this time yesterday, I was of the opinion that this was really close to being over.

It definitely doesn’t seem that way anymore.

I don’t believe these guys escaped from that area, so the logical conclusion is that they were never there to begin with.

I’m sure everyone is frustrated by that.

It’s the same van. Upon closer look at pictures. Same tire brand. Same rear wheel “Mcintyre Auto” mud flap. It’s the same van.
