I suppose most people would just keep on going and forget they even seen a situation like this. But I know and maybe because I'm used to these back roads and Northern roads and remoteness .... I may not have stopped but I would have pulled up ahead and pulled over on the side of the road and watch them from a distance. Just to see if things are going to be okay. I 'would' have done that. I guess I'm always on the lookout to make sure people are safe because of my medical career.

Good thinking. Is that the maple leaf? Wink.

Forgive me, Ive not had any constructive quality time to give to this thread and am just relying on you guys.

Did the female roadworker witness describe seeing another vehicle too, or just a bearded man engaging with the couple?

Just do a quick google search and you'll find the details of what she told LE. She was a road worker for the state.

You can also go about 3 or 4 threads back and you'll find plenty of information. Links to each thread are found on the first page of this thread.

There is no such game as Lanius:Fallout.

There is a long running and very popular series of handg called Fallout and one features a character called Lanius.
And I believe there was a fan film based on the Fallout: New Vegas game and the character of Lanius called Fallout: Lanius.

Like I said before - there’s a good chance that they were bullied in high school for being different. One of them dropped out for a while and both ended up attending “alternative class” What better way to get kids to leave you alone and stop picking on you than to make them scared of you. (And no I don’t believe that telling a teacher/school official results in any preventions for further bullying).
Here are some other things that may change your view... classmate said BS would mouth off to teachers. His mother told a friend she was afraid of his outbursts and that he wasn't satisfied with things she bought him. A fellow gamer said one of BS's gaming strategies was to find out personal info about his opponent and then harass them with it until they quit. A former friend got creeped out when KS kept saying "imagine if this was real!" when playing violent strategic video games and distanced himself from him.

Thank you, those who answered my questions. I'm guessing there's not a gas station in the village, but I could be wrong.
I don't believe there is a gas station in York Landing, although there might be fuel tanks for the Keeyask facilities, and maybe for the ferry? In that drone footage, I was impressed with the number of vehicles there for a village without road access, then I remembered they all come in on the Split Lake Ferry and that would likely have the only gas bar around. There also weren't that many garages for a place that has such a cold winter

Marking my spot.
...

I expect that the fugitives have been marking quite a few spots .. all those berries and unfiltered water. ;)

So I'll just wait patiently. Sometimes the RCMP tells the public information that they need to get out there, but meanwhile, action on the ground might be different.

This isn't a game? Lanius

We don't know perhaps .... they modified that air gun.
That’s not possible. Fortunately.

An air rifle cannot be modified to fire bullets.

The mechanism is completely different.

I looked for a while but saw no point in spending a ton of time on it .... I guess I’m just skeptical that they were entitled to stop the vehicle check for contraband but not ask for ID or Vehicle Reg ? I mean what if the found drugs/ alcohol and the occupants refused to let them have it ? What then ? Take them into custody ? That would indicate LE status ...No? Plus , they use the title of MFNPS ... just seems weird that’s all I’m getting at .

These people are not Manitoba First Nations Police Service. That is an Ojibway organization (these people are Cree) that over a long period of time has taken over the RCMP function in a number of Ojibway communities. If you do a search, you’ll find lots of info on it.

Ah yes, automatically guilty just because the RCMP say they did it. I will wait for them to be proven guilty. Or maybe they are in Mexico already?
They will not like Mexico................moo

Good thinking. Is that the maple leaf? Wink.

The sketch looks like the fugitive wanted for murder who crossed into Manitoba in June.
Derek Whisenand
I know it’s a stretch but what are the chances that these are two separate crimes.(Quite a reach I know)

Yes, I've been wondering about that as well. I haven't read any updates about this Derek Whisenand lately, and I wonder where he is!

But why would they be rummaging through the dump in the daylight? When there's people coming and going all the time during the day.
They obviously know that they're wanted. If they're still up in that bush somewhere they'd see the planes and helicopters and everything going over head so they would know that Cops are looking for them. So why would you start going rummaging around in the dump during the day?

It's probably hard to navigate unfarmilar terrain in the darkness of the night. Also would be hard to watch for bears or any other external threat when you cant see further than 5 feet

@Trooper Interesting indeed , why has the killing stopped ? And now that the search of the vehicle revealed no long gun and LE won’t disclose the manner of death for LD .... makes one wonder if they ditched the gun somewhere before killing LD ... which again would make you think maybe they didn’t intend on a murderous tirade .... I can’t explain the killings obviously but could it have been a Robbery gone awry ... they panicked had to get another ride quick and LD was the first “easy” target.... he put up a fight ( not so easy ) and they killed him during a struggle ? IDK I’m glad they haven’t taken another life that we know of tho .

The Daily Mail has now updated their article, removing the many places where they referred to the officer who stopped Bryer and Kam as "RCMP Constable." They even updated the title, I believe. But it still says "Mountie" in the URL.

lol, I posted a comment on DM's website about an hour ago re. them NOT being RCMP, and I expect the RCMP themselves plus many others alerted DM to their mistake as well.

He had an obviously very grey, full beard and white hair. Witness saw someone with a different style, trimmed beard that was dark. They estimated the person was in their 30's to 40's. Not similar to the victim.

Sorry, I'm not sure why some folks want to promote the idea that these young men are innocent. If they are, why don't they stop and turn themselves in?

Here's another (earlier named) suspect. He resembles that sketch, IMO far more than Kam does. Just putting that out there. I'm not promoting anything, btw. I am merely interested in the truth in this case. And like everyone, I have my sense of the facts but also a lot of questions).

He looks more like that sketch to me, but we all differ in our facial recognition systems.

Derek Whisenand.

So...RCMP needs some physical evidence to link B&K to the killings of the young couple, IMO. If they have it, they will make the charges, and then, yes, I'll go with "it looks like they did it."

Until then, the two are wanted in one murder, that did not (as far as we know) involve a gun. Changing MO in between two closely timed murders is unusual. No van burned in the first case, two vehicles burned in the second.

What places the two teens at the roadside murder of the young couple? Certainly, RCMP wants to talk to them about it, right? But will they charge them? I am going to stay tuned. Derek W. is still out there...AFAIK. If he hasn't shaved for a couple of days, he would resemble that composite even more.

Ha! I guess the RCMP raised hell. Maybe the Band and the Assembly of First Nations did too. They need to be seen as claiming that these Band personnel are RCMP officers like they need a hole in the head. They aren’t police officers, period. I don’t know why some people don’t want to accept that.

As has been referenced a few times, we're free to express our views and opinions here, within certain constrictions and based on our understanding of the information available. Some feel the case is solved and everybody should just move on to the sentencing. Others feel that we haven't heard the other side of the story yet. Heck, we've barely even heard one side at this point. Either way, all we know for certain is that 3 people met untimely deaths at two locations on the side of the Alaska Highway about 7 driving miles apart from each other. How this came to be is still conjecture so far as the public is concerned. But if you ask me, there could be lots of possible reasons why these guys don't turn themselves - ranging from need to evade punishment (if guilty) to fear of consequences from participation in an accident or other so far unknown threats against them. It's not possible, in my opinion, to jump to conclusions yet. The Crown has charged them with 2nd degree murder and the police have named them as suspects in the other two homicides. That's all. Hopefully, the police will take them into custody soon and then much more will be made clear. MOO
