Russell Williams flew to the North Pole in September, 2009:

"Investigators will look into the unsolved murder of Kathleen MacVicar as they probe cases that may have intersected with the life of the man now accused of two murders near CFB Trenton.
Police said on Monday they will be investigating any connection to the 19-year-old's brutal murder in June 2001. The Nova Scotia teen was found in Middleton Park, a housing development inside CFB Trenton. MacVicar was staying with family at CFB Trenton when she disappeared June 13, 2001. Two days later her body was found in a wooded corner of the base. She had been raped and stabbed to death."
"It was tire tracks in the snow at the scene of Jessica Lloyd's disappearance which led police to Colonel Russell Williams.
According to Globe and Mail sources, the distinctive tracks soon had detectives identifying the type of vehicle used in what appears to have been an abduction.
Last Thursday, on a stretch of rural highway, they set up the equivalent of a RIDE-program spot check, only this time they were looking not for drinking drivers, but certain vehicles.
Luck was on their side, because Col. Williams happened to be caught in the roadside check."

Williams – he became the prime suspect in a string of unexplained attacks on women only five days ago – the detectives' net is widening even faster. Investigators are examining crime-scene evidence from several Eastern Ontario cities and additional charges are anticipated, sources familiar with the investigation said late last night. One officer close to the case said: “This may be all, but we suspect – a guy just doesn't start doing murders out of the blue.” "
I believe it was the neighbors/writer who made that claim. Yes, Williams was in Dubai at Camp Mirage. There were a number of "suicides" there, including a Canadian female military intelligence officer.
He has also travelled all over Canada. I think back to a recent news story about the FBI saying there is a link between serial murders in the U.S. and long-haul truckers. What about the randomness of a pilot crisscrossing the country, or many countries? He flew dignitaries, and dignitaries fly frequently to many destinations.
Have the OPP been to the house yet? The military were apparently guarding it. Ms. Harriman was reportedly taken away by the military. Aside from compassionate grounds, I have to wonder what kind of damage control is going on.
"Williams has been based in other cities, including Shearwater, N.S., and Ottawa, during his military career."
And what's up with a killer who stabs? He's a military man, wouldn't he know how to break a neck and kill more quickly? Tells me he's one mean, sadistic, demented goof...
It seems that Williams is being erased from military websites as we speak.
I'm curious where you're seeing the "gentleman" here. All I see is the anger and sadist profile. From what we've been told about the victims and the circumstances of the attacks, it seems that he stalked them first, determined that they would be alone, and then pounced. Even people who work long hours get time off. I suspect he may have followed them in his car at night and waited for his opportunity. I believe that it will be determined that RW fits the profile of a sadistic sociopath and that more crimes will be revealed in the near future. I'll be very surprised if Kathleen MacVicar isn't one of them.

I see gentleman here:
Even when he cut off her clothes with a knife and said, Ill be careful not to cut you.
Even when he assaulted her.
Even when he took photographs, letting her touch the camera so shed know.
Even when he told her: You seem like a nice lady.
It was so bizarre, she says. He was playing a game with me. I had conversations with him the whole time, almost like I was negotiating with him.
Youre going to kill me, arent you? she asked him, early on.
No need for that, he replied.
It seems like he was not very angry oriented and did not cause a lot of bodily harm, right?
I have new information that just kills me... This case has absolutely taken its toll on me, and all i do is sleep.
"But it was a man. A strong man. She struggled. He beat her about the head. She broke free enough to breathe."
This case is very draining, I agree.
I guess what I am seeing is that he killed twice (that we know of) but she was calm enough and he was calm enough that they conversed. I mean I have been there, it was not pretty at all. But this story makes it sound like he was pretty calm about it- aside from the head punches. He never killed her, he talked to her- he told her he wasn't going to hurt her with the knife. That fits the gentleman profile to me.
