Found Deceased Canada - Mohd Abdullah, 60, univ professor, failed to show up @ work, Kamloops, 14 Mar 2022 *Arrest*

I guess I should have expected that he would be granted bail because he's only been charged with 'interfering with a dead body', nothing related to the actual death of Mohd.

This is such an odd collection of news stories. What happened here? Was Mohd the victim of a random attack? Was there an existing relationship? How was the lawyer identified?

My guess as to how the lawyer was identified, based on what little we know, is his name might have been associated with that white Budget Rental van that had been parked outside someone's elses property (though it's never been outright stated, I believe the body in the bin was in that van). If this is the case, I'm surprised he folded so easily and didn't try to sell a story where he had rented the van for someone else and was unaware of the contents.
I think there's a lot more to Mr. Bagabuyo that LE is not releasing.

This article answers a question I had (was he involved with this divorce lawyer because he was going thru a divorce?) and offers some more info about Mohd's life.

-Abdullah was also a pilates and yoga instructor in the city
-a former student of Abdullah’s described him as a very nice man who was very physically active.
-Abdullah was the subject of a KTW story in 2009 that had international reach, when he spoke out after being warned by staff at the Tournament Capital Centre not to wear shorts deemed too short. The then-48-year old felt the policy discriminatory and refused to heed the warning, calling it a double standard

The article about the little shorts, if anyone wanted to know more. He seemed like an interesting guy! Funny, too. I don't have the confidence to wear those lil booty shorts so all props to him If I'm doing pilates in my 40s and have strong quads I'd want to show em off too.

I cannot imagine how this lawyer and mediator ended up with a deceased professor in a plastic bin in his rental van. What a nightmare.

Why go after a quote from some fellow teacher who didnt know him? 21 yrs and you don't know him... I guess, do we really know anyone?? I havent heard from any other sources. I hope someone comes forward with something.

His title was "Senior Lecturer." That isn't, IMO, as commonly used in U.S. colleges/universities as the titles "adjunct instructor" or "adjunct professor" or "lecturer." But in general, I would presume that a "senior lecturer" is not on the tenure track and is likely to be employed on short-term contracts to teach specific classes in a given semester. Therefore it would not surprise me if the deceased wasn't included in "department meetings" and might not be particularly well-known by people who might be considered his colleagues.

The daughter says the attorney was a trusted friend, who knew all about her father's assets and properties, etc. Sounds like the attorney might have been trying to gain control of those assets, by making Abdullah disappear?

That might be possible...but to me it's more likely, with lawyers and professors who are not desperate for money, but not millionaires either, that the death was unplanned, perhaps to try to cover up something like fraud. At least, that would be the plot in a detective novel.

The van appears to have been driven all over the region, yet was found back in Kamloops with remains still there...doesn't seem like a plan...
