Awareness is key. Keep her in the loop and remind her to stay away from organized crime groups no matter how good looking they are.

I am lucky she does not find the gangster guys attractive or their way of life for that matter. She is a very smart girl, very aware of her surroundings but Calgary is such a big place there are creeps everywhere. I wish I could say this is what a creep looks like..... but that is not really an option lol. Although that would be great

The situation in Didsbury is scary. That is only 5 minutes from the town I am from. I am communicating with the guy's (not sure I can post his name) ex girlfriend as I type. Crazy!

Without mentioning too many identifying details, the ex has only been the ex for about a week. I have known her for about 20 years. She became the ex last weekend after he threatened to kill her. We did the best we could to get her out of the situation quickly. There are drugs involved. His Facebook is filled with " Life" and "Gangster" stuff, not to mention posts about shooting police and those who talk to police. Unfortunately the ex is still infatuated and is heading from the safe place back to Didsbury to try and save him. He has told her he will never go quietly and the police will never take him alive.

CALGARY- RCMP believe there may be a connection between a missing person case and an investigation into a serious assault west of Calgary.

Family members say Nick Lush, a father of three, was last seen last Saturday night when he left to go to a house party in Springbank.

RCMP took over the investigation into Lush’s disappearance, and were on scene of what appears to have been a serious assault just west of Calgary on Sunday morning. Police received a call around 8:30 a.m. from someone saying they believed they saw three people as they drove past the underpass at Highway 1 and Hermitage Road. They said it looked like two men had seriously assaulted a third man.

When officers arrived at the scene, they say nobody was there, but forensic evidence was discovered that suggested a serious assault had taken place.

RCMP have one person in custody after an hours-long standoff in Didsbury.

Mounties said they began executing a search warrant at a home in the 24th Street area of Didsbury shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday. Officers had been unable to communicate with a person inside and, as a result, secured the area to ensure public safety.

They took a person into custody shortly before 2 p.m.

Earlier in the day, RCMP had urged nearby residents to remain in their homes with their windows and doors locked, and refrain from using social media to communicate the movement of police.

&#8220;This is not a police exercise or entertainment filming but a live unfolding event that is not yet secure,&#8221; RCMP said in an earlier release.
