Just a normal lunch our for our victim. I don't live in Toronto anymore but used the path all the time when I did.
I'm in waterloo now and work in a office across from a Shoppers that I go to almost daily for our offices mail run. Just a everyday thing. This is just so senseless.
Idc if she has a mental illness right now. My thoughts are so saddened by the loss of a life taken by another so senselessly. Once she is diagnosed if she is I may change my tune. I suffer with some mental illnesses that thankfully are under control. I've said some pretty kooky things before. I never took a life.

The victim, who also went by her middle name of Kim, worked at a Medcan clinic in Toronto.

“We are shocked and greatly saddened by this senseless tragedy, which took the life of our colleague. Our organization is like a big family and we are all grieving today for this loss,” the clinic said in a statement released on Thursday.

“Rosemarie was just such a vibrant, happy and glowing person. She had so many good friends here, and was such a positive force here, and we are all just devastated. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”

Charge is upgraded to 2nd degree murder (CP24).

This is just so sad. I know I keep saying this and all murders are sad. This is just really upsetting me. RIP Rosemarie.

I REALLY hope this deranged woman doesn't get just a slap on the wrist for being mentally ill. she was competent enough to dress herself and pretend to live a life that wasn't really hers, carry a weapon and then pick someone to randomly attack and finally write about it. this poor girl was just beginning to build her life, and someone who could only dream of having what she had murdered her in an experiment of evil. absolutely reprehensible. I have no sympathy for this woman. I'm only two years younger than the victim and I'm building a life with my SO as well. It literally could have been me. They were strangers to one another but for someone who was looking to commit a random crime, she sure did pick someone who stood for the everything she probably wanted in life.

Me too. This is a scenario and crime I've never considered. But it happened and now a young woman is dead.

RIP Rosemarie.

I wonder if her sending the National Post an email was a well planned defense for being mentally unwell? She knew LE was looking for her and her photo was everywhere. Why contact the National Post instead of the police?

Why would she do this at all if not mentally ill?

You could be right. "Amok" is a violent psychological disorder which stimulates the individual to sudden and usually short—lived bouts of murder. They occur mostly in islands of the South Pacific.

Did someone mention that the suspect was from the South Pacific?

She is Indian isn't she? The last name and the reference to Bollywood?

The origin of the word amok is interesting though, thanks for sharing that.

Amok, or running amok, is derived from the Malay word mengamok, which means to make a furious and desperate charge. Captain Cook is credited with making the first outside observations and recordings of amok in the Malay tribesmen in 1770 during his around-the-world voyage. He described the affected individuals as behaving violently without apparent cause and indiscriminately killing or maiming villagers and animals in a frenzied attack. Amok attacks involved an average of 10 victims and ended when the individual was subdued or “put down” by his fellow tribesmen, and frequently killed in the process.

Lots of Canadians are from the South Pacific. Of course, now I can't find anything to suggest that she was from the South Pacific, so I could be wrong about her having SP roots.

ETA .. She's identified as South Asian in this article.

Were you maybe thinking of this?
Born in Trinidad to a family of South Asian descent, [Rosemarie] Junor was the youngest of four siblings and lived in Canada for more than 20 years. Her 44-year-old brother described her as “full of life” and “outgoing” — a young woman who poured that energy into soccer and South Indian dance.

Junor died less than six months after her wedding, according to Facebook posts. Her friend Suzanna Dutt said it's painful to see the pictures of her looking so happy with her new husband on their wedding day.

"I feel like she didn't get to fully enjoy being a newlywed," Dutt said in an interview Thursday. "It was too short, way too short."
Loved to dance

Dutt and Junor bonded over a love of Bollywood dance, after spending nearly 10 years together at the Tarana Dance Centre in Toronto.

"She was such a great dancer, very graceful."

It would take her 20 minutes to learn a dance that would take others a couple of hours, Dutt said.

"She was a quiet one, but once you got to know her she had a contagious laugh.... She would laugh and everyone would start laughing with her."

Junor worked at the Medcan Clinic at York and Adelaide streets, just a few blocks from where she was stabbed. Her colleagues at Medcan are in shock, the clinic's chief operating officer said in a statement.
