I think Shannon would have left a note or a message somehow if she was going to kill herself.

rsbm -

It's so hard to say. It's estimated that only about 20-30% of those who commit suicide leave notes, and considering the stream of thoughts and events that lead to a suicide, I can't speculate about whether or not Shannon would leave a note. I'm not sold on any theory of her disappearance at this point, mind you. I just can't help but hope against hope that she's still alive, although everything I've read says otherwise.

So I wonder what time the Yuk Yuk's show was on Wed. night? I tried to find an event calendar and there's only the open mic where doors open at 7pm then there's the open mic workshop at 6:30pm. The FB says it was material-swap night, so what time did it start? Earlier than her 8:15pm post it seems.

I wonder if she posted that while in Edmonton, otherwise, if she was home in Calgary at 8:15pm, she might've still made some of the show?

It was in the Yuk Yuk's group she posted that, and my mistake - she missed it because she said "I didn't make it back into Calgary in time for the show" so she wasn't back from Edmonton then. She posted this at Nov 26th @ 8:15pm.

That would be 9:15 p.m. here LaLa. Your FB is set to your time zone. It shows 9:15 for me.

So, her hubby says he last saw her at 12:30 a.m. on the 27th. If she wasn't planning to be back on time and that was at 9:00 p.m. we only have her hubby's say so that she even arrived correct? Who drove her back from Edmonton? Would you take a car with bad brakes on an Alberta highway in the winter?

ETA: Unless I am mistaken, the Wednesday night routines start at 7:30 p.m.

Thanks News, those time zones are tricky!

Yes, it's curious…so hypothetically let's say a show started at 7pm, she wasn't back from Edmonton so couldn't attend which would mean she might've still been in Edmonton around 7pm. So when did she get home? And yes, only her hubby's word is right, but she must've came home at some point if her phone was there wouldn't she? She must've brought her cell to Edmonton I would think.

Was she out with someone who drove her from Edmonton and asked to get driven to her house to run in to get wallet (money) and keys (to get back in with) and did they go out then somewhere at 12:30am?

It's driving me crazy not knowing what she was doing at home at 12:30am as reported by the hubby. Was she in PJs on the couch and he went to bed? Was she dressed to go out? Waiting for a ride? Left on foot? MSM hasn't stated what she was doing when last seen.

So SB and her ex did not live together then? He lives in Rundle and she has a place on Spiller Road. Her ex was apparently the last person to see her at 1230am at her residence on Spiller road. First, do I have these facts straight, second..why was he at her residence on Spiller Road?

I should explore the dynamics and the notes etc. I wonder if the percentage you are estimating is for suicides that were easily identifiable (found quickly at home or in a car, etc.) and how many of the cases were of people who were hard to find and when they were recovered it was deemed suicide.

Other than complete speculation that Shannon may have headed towards Lolita's Lounge, or Yuk Yuk's Comedy Casino, has there been a sighting of her outside of her house? What is the last time for any communication from Shannon?

Shannon, her keys, and her wallet are missing from her house.
Her car, her phone, and all other belongings are not missing.
The last sighting of Shannon is in her home.

That's a sudden disappearance. She suddenly died in her house, or she suddenly disappeared after leaving the house at 12:30AM very late on a Wednesday. Nobody had contact with her after what time? Was the last text or facebook at approximately 8:30-9PM?

She was at an audition in Edmonton, drove home, and arrived in Calgary too late for a planned event. What then? She drove home? When and where is that the last communication from Shannon? Was it at about 8:36PM, and about being too late for the show? Did she go home, have a couple of beer at home to relax from the drive? What then, after the long drive and a couple of beer, she decided to try to bump into friends at the pub that is several blocks away ... but left her phone at home? If her phone was dead, would she still think that it was a good idea to wander out at 12:30AM and walk for several blocks in a seedy area without a phone after a few drinks ... hoping to find a barfly? That personality does not come across in her interview, so that strikes me as a less likely scenario.

She had theatre plans with her brother on Thursday November 27; plans that were made on Tuesday November 25. Thursday-Sunday, Shannon was not in contact with anyone. Late Monday, Shannon was reported missing by her sister; not by her "estranged husband", with whom she apparently lived.

If anyone knows the address, please forward it to me. I'd like to explore a floor plan for what happened ... if something happened in the house. For example, if something happened to her at home, she had to be removed from the house. For example, what's the door to parking space relationship? What's the balcony to parking space relationship? How difficult would it be to remove a body from Shannon's house? There are photos of Shannon and her dog in a very nice two story condo with a balcony.

I don't mean to suggest that Shannon is deceased, but I do want to explore all possibilities ... and after two weeks of complete silence from a spontaneous and outgoing actor, it's worth considering the possibility that she is no longer alive.

this we don't know (it's sometimes good to go back and read the first reports,, the power of suggestion can get us all running down the wrong path**), we know he saw her but we don't really know where. His place, her place, a restaurant, bowling alley?

I wasn't trying to be preachy, so my apologies if I came off that way.**

I wonder if SB went to Edmonton with a group of people from calgary and if they car pooled. There were a couple people commenting (FB) on not being able to make the material swap as they would not be back in town in time. I wonder if they were all heading to Edmonton and if there was more than one event happening in Edmonton that the friends would be participating in.

Edmonton is a 3 hour drive to Calgary. She said it was too bad she DIDN'T make it back in time, so it sounds like she had just arrived home and was checking her social media. That leaves anywhere from 3-5 hours between coming home and her husband seeing her at 12:30 a.m.

Now that we know I can tell time and can add...[emoji39]

Would she have wanted to meet up with her fellow performers after the show? Maybe we were on track all along... Maybe she walked to a pub but obviously never arrived or CCTV and witnesses would put her 'last seen' time and location somewhere else.

It also doesn't sound like she was suicidal that evening - By the tone of her post to the Yuk Yuk's group, she was in good spirits.

Suicides in Calgary often include drowning in the Bow River. It's a shallow (3 ft deep) river, but it is extremely dangerous. Once grabbed by the rapid current and water temperature, there's no escape. Every year, several bodies turn up. Between December and April, the ice flow jams up the river. Christmas bodies/suicides are found in the Spring.

Could he have been the one to drive her to Edmonton and back? If her car wasn't working too great, maybe he drove her and stayed at the house for those few hours. Separated spouses can still be helpful or even friends. Mine still is.

Interesting point that we haven't heard who was the last person to see JB. With the Liknes-O'brien case that was a key piece of information that was released to the public. They also included what they were last wearing. If that detail is not available in this case could it be because the last person who claims to have seen her may not be a trustworthy source of information and if LE did offer up that person's description it could jeopardize the investigation later on down the road?

I think she lived with her husband I thought.

There's nothing to suggest that they didn't both live in the same house. She was apparently at home, and her husband reports that she left, or that he left, at 12:30AM? Is the story from the husband that she left with her keys and wallet in the middle of the night, or that he left in the middle of the night and someone else discovered that her wallet and keys were missing?

They could have a good relationship. He could have also loaned her his car so he didn't have to miss work.

What is really ominous, is what if he did drive her, posted on her behalf and changed the time and location he last saw her as a diversion? There are an awful lot of empty fields and secluded roads on the prairies.

Has anyone confirmed that she made it back?

I just did a sleuthing and my guess is it is his home that he inherited (long story).

Which home belongs to Shannon's husband: the NE property, or the SE property where she was last seen?

from the first report, which would explain why he wouldn't have noticed her gone because he doesn't live with her;

Burgess was last seen on Nov. 26 by her estranged husband in Calgary.

Her family found Burgess’s car parked at her home in Calgary, but haven’t seen any trace of her since returning. With her car and cell phone left at her home, Burgess’s family is at a loss to explain her disappearance.

“We’ve been contact with all of her friends that we’re aware of between Calgary and Edmonton, but have no leads or understandings of why she would disappear or where she could possibly be,” Madill said.

It neither says their home or that they live together.

NE>him
SE>her

and it doesn't say she was last SEEN at her home but rather her things/car were there.
