It can make a huge difference. Should someone come forward that they saw her at 11:30 pm somewhere, that would be relevant, and LE wouldn't release that information... FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

Police are not releasing Shannon's activities prior to the last time that she was seen because those activities are unrelated to her disappearance. She was safe, at home, at 12:30 AM on Nov 27. After that time, she vanished.

Police checked her online activity prior to the press conference and, during the press conference, stated that there was no activity after she was last seen by her husband.

Social media is considered rumour. Is there any point is discussing rumour that is posted on some other webpage?
Yes, there is a point to it.

It's no different building a mock up of the victims' house, based on nothing other than speculation and a fact or two, then discussing it at length.

How is it not related? What if the earlier Facebook post is related to her disappearance for example?

Any sort of plan for her to disappear, by her, or by others, may very well be uncovered by looking at her activities from weeks or months previous to the disappearance.

I'm baffled you would insist LE not pay attention to that, or not to even think that there may be correlation between any incident previous, and to her disappearance. Something led up to it... OBVIOUSLY. This didn't just start at 12:30 am on the 27th.

The fact is, WE do not know that is why LE have released what they did. There are MANY reasons that LE withhold certain facts in a case.

Have you bothered to read the family's comments on social-media or has been dismissed?

What is being referred too, is not speculation. It is the family discussing when THEY had direct contact with the MP. As I stated above, LE have their reasons for not divulging all the facts of a case, including a timeline. It does not make it any less worthy of further sleuthing.

Shannon's generation uses the term "creeped" when describing strangers that read the social media pages of family and friends.

Police state during the press conference that there has been no communication from Shannon after she was last seen at home. Is there any reason to doubt the police?

Indeed. Since LE subsequently released information that she may be in Vancouver or Toronto, based on a tip, then perhaps LE's initial statement was only accurate as to the day it was released.

Again... that goes without saying, and I apologize to the rest of the forum for endlessly stating the obvious.

Please quote the video where the husband says Shannon left the house that night, as you have stated earlier AS FACT.

If she was at the grocery store at 11:30PM, it is unrelated to her disappearance simply because she is accounted for after that time.

I haven't suggested that police are not interested in who Shannon was prior to her disappearance.

In other words that is a *no* to my question.

If we took the information in the Mitchell release verbatim, she would have been found in Longview, Alberta or maybe even Edmonton or Fort Mac - Not dead in her home at the hands of her husband:

The Calgary Police Service and RCMP are seeking public assistance in determining the movements of a woman who hasn’t been seen by her family since October 2012.

Lisa Michelle MITCHELL, 29, of Calgary, was last seen leaving the Longview area to return to Calgary on Monday, October 29, 2012.*

After not hearing from her, MITCHELL’S family reported her missing.

The investigation indicates that MITCHELL may have traveled to the Edmonton or Fort McMurray area.*

While there is currently no information to indicate foul play may be involved in this case, there is a concern that MITCHELL suffers from a medical condition that may get worse if not treated.

Does this release look similar to perhaps this case?

Using your own example... if someone followed her home from that grocery store... then... (Insert the obvious here)

We know why police held a press conference. They spent five days examining her electronic footprint and searching the area between Ramsay and Inglewood. They came up empty, and decided to ask the public for information about Shannon. They hoped that someone might have more information. From the time of the press conference, on Dec 5, to now, Dec 21, nothing has changed and she is still missing.

This newsfeed suggests that Shannon was cast for the part after the audition in Edmonton:

"This is for the 8th Annual 100 Hour Film Race. We need an actress asap, as the actress cast to play the part is now missing. We are looking for a female mid 20's. The show must go on.... please spread the word. Thank you!

A FB friend posted on Dec 4: Latest news I have received is that she MADE the audition in Edmonton and the casting ppl have informed the police when she left etc so there is a new piece to the puzzle at least

Is it known when this audition took place? TIA

Again, we do not know that a canvas was unsuccessful. We only know what the chose to share with the public.

Shannon's family seem to be quiet lately, do they still want the public to keep eyes open for S, or are they relying now on the people who saw her in the
days before she disappeared?
Could it be that they now have strong leads that LE are following?
Are they still optimistic?

I have stated that the quote "she left" is included in the press conference - nothing more, nothing less.

Again... try it... "Oops, I was wrong. Honest mistake."

Then nothing. Shannon went home and she was safely at home with her husband until 12:30AM.

There's no reason to be suspicious of police. They held a press conference because Shannon was last seen Nov 27 at 12:30AM, and there are no sightings or communication from her since that time. The police are not so stupid as to claim that someone was last seen on a specific day if they know that the person was accounted for two days later.

As with most if not all investigations, we do not know what transpires behind the scenes. They may feel that this is a homicide or they may believe she left on her own accord - although from the information we have, is unlikely given that there has been no financial activity. MOO.

I too find it strange that the family have remained so silent - no dedicated FB page, no flyers covering the city... It is not however uncommon, that LE remain tight-lipped.
