You're linking one film, from a competition years ago, that may have had a large audience at some point... with this different competition, an amateur film maker based in Edmonton, film Mecca of... (insert Edmonton joke here) and an instant trip to stardom.

I try, but there's been so little to sleuth on this case! Nothing to go on…. Until I realized tonight, to sleuth her name with the 'H' in it.

Her website domain name was only registered in March 2014 or Oct 2014 (2014-03-10, not sure their dating format off hand), so quite new.

I wonder if she had any creepy neighbors if she lived in the Ramsey Coop Housing? You always hear of crimes happening, and they're sometimes committed by a neighbor or someone in the neighborhood who fixates on a person.

ETA - if the husband is a suspect (he is to me until ruled out), was there someone at this event he didn't want Shannon seeing? An ex? A new crush? Is there a reason, he didn't want Shannon going?

You know, maybe there is some merit to Shannon just "taking off". Obviously her home life was down the tubes, and perhaps there were some problems within her immediate family...maybe some of the family sided with JB as to the cause of the breakdown of the marriage and maybe Shannon felt betrayed. It wouldn't be so strange for Shannon to have taken off, with a friend, obviously someone with a car. Cell phones are very easy to get, there are many types. Maybe she left her personal cell phone because she didn't want ANYONE contacting her, including family. As far as leaving with clothes, it could be clothes, toiletries, etc were packed and put in friend's car before JB got home from work. Maybe Shannon was all set and ready to go and her ride stopped by to pick her up at 12:30 am Thursday morning. I'm sure JB would have thought nothing of her leaving the house so late. Sometimes, things aren't as they seem. Obviously there have been some indication that there are some medical concerns as bits and pieces have been shared. IMO, just because the family is worried and want her back, it doesn't mean that she wasn't experiencing some falling out with a family member(s) and felt that perhaps no one would care if she disappeared. Maybe she really did just leave and doesn't care to let anyone know anything about her whereabouts, safety or anything. If there was tension within the family over her separation from estranged husband, she may have not felt comfortable with them and just left. Knowing that she isn't in any trouble, as she's done nothing and is an adult, perhaps she doesn't feel to put anyone's mind at ease...especially if she is upset with them. Just a thought.

I think if she had wanted to just take off and let nobody know, that after two weeks of it, and now it's getting serious and on national news and her family is holding a press conference and police want to know she is safe.. it just doesn't make sense for her not to contact at least them (LE) to let them know she is safe and to leave her alone. But she hasn't done that. Also, family states it isn't like her to not contact anyone. There is always a first time of course, but.. you would think there would be some kind of a prelude before age 25, to just suddenly disappearing without a trace and without a word for 2 weeks now.. actually coming up to 3 weeks in a couple of days I think?

Secondly.. IMHO.. in the artsy world, it's a 'community' in which many of these people know one another.. and they start out starving and trying out for, and doing anything and everything, just for the experience, exposure, and connections, and nothing about the money. For that film festival, I don't think it matters what caliber it was, nor what the monetary rewards were, but what mattered is a chance for her to make a little video that was fun that she could add to her portfolio, and a bonus if she got to show her stuff. On the 100 hours website it shows previous little clips.. it would be a great thing to have as a sample of one's acting skills, imho. I would think that those starting out who would snub their nose at small things, wouldn't get to make it to bigger things. MOO.

Where did you read that? I have not seen "sighting" anywhere. All I have seen is that they have information she may be in one of those 2 cities, which could also mean they may have picked something off her cell phone, or a friend may have provided something to LE.

Where do you see the info about her address and that it is registered to her? Sorry I'm not great when it comes to that type of technology.

No problem, if you google 'who is go daddy', you'll come to the Go Daddy website where you can search domain names in the text field, in this instance ShannonHBurgess dot com. It then shows you who registered the domain and their info (address, phone #, email). I sleuthed her phone # (seems to be a mobile #) and her email address and didn't find much.

She probably registered her name web address to save/hold so no one else could use it. She probably planned to get a website up and running, but paying someone to build a site can be expensive (or cheap depending the type).

So true, I went for an interview for a make-up artistry type job in my early 20s and the address was a house address (pre-internet days, so couldn't look up an address!) Apprehensive, but I still went in and had a friend waiting for me in the car. Well the home looked totally staged, and low budget and I knew it wasn't legit. I left as soon as I got there! Quite creepy really.

I can imagine actors really put themselves out there and their safety on the line at times. Scary if you're a young, vivacious, attractive woman like Shannon.

I don't know what to make of the Vancouver/Toronto tip. Could go either way:

- She could've said to heck with Alberta, I'm going to the two film meccas of Canada where the real action is, I'm fed up with everyone here (including her family? Still skeptical on her bailing on her entire family or a best friend) or,

- Someone knows these two cities are the film hubs, as well as being two of the biggest cities in Canada (so hard to find her, a needle in a haystack), and chose those two cities for a set up for a 'tip'

I think if it was me and I was really fed up with the film biz and my friends and family (as some theories suggest), I would not go to the two biggest cities one being across the country. I would be going to a quiet zone by the ocean, outdoors, somewhere peaceful or a small town where I can think *peacefully*. There's lots of beautiful parks and oceans around. Crowded, busy cities would add to someone's anxiety.

I just have a hard time thinking she was having a zen moment and needed to get away to Toronto/Vancouver….JMO.
