Where are Shannon's mitts.

I'm sure that she has a favourite pair of mitts for a few blocks walk in -1C temperatures. Everyone does. Where are those mitts. Are they are home, or are they missing?

If the mitts are at home: she never left or she was too drunk to wear mitts (was she going out in search of one more drink at the counter next to the Barfly 10 blocks away without mitts?)
If the mitts are missing: she left

When I was 25 I never wore my mitts. I tucked my hands into my sleeves.

That gives me shivers. Boyd was my dads partner. He was there. Very scary.

Wow News! This article has some great photo's if you haven't seen them before. Was your dad the officer who was shot and protected by his wallet? Such an awful day for the Davidson family, their lives forever changed.

It was an awful day for my family. First time I ever saw my dad cry. I was young, but it is one of those memories that stay with me. Boyd was like family to me. I honestly don't recall the details other than my dad saying that Boyd saved his life. My dad took early retirement after that. He never recovered.

Yes, that would be very difficult for your father to lose his partner. You would have been close like family as well, the impact of this event affected so many of you. Incredible. My thoughts are with you all. Thank you for sharing.

What if she has 3 pairs of gloves, 2 pairs of mitts, and one pair of those finger-less glove/mitt hybrids?

If you did that at 25, you will most likely do that at 55. However, even though you typically tuck your hands in your sleeves, would you be stupid enough to decide to walk 6.5 blocks with your hands tucked into your sleeves when you have already decided to leave your cell phone at home, and it was a nearly 7 block walk? Even people that tuck their hands into their sleeves for five blocks know better than to leave their mitts at home for 7 blocks. Although it isn't exactly 7 blocks on the map, it's1.2 km from Shannon's townhouse to Lolita's lounge.

10 blocks = 1 mile
6.5 blocks = 1 kilometre

The walking distance taking the shortcut under the train bridge to 9 Ave SE is 1.2 kilometres ... 7 blocks ... too far for someone that knows the climate to voluntarily walk without mitts, and a toque.

What if she has 4 pairs of gloves, 3 pairs of mitts, and one pair of those finger-less glove/mitt hybrids? Who would know if one pair was missing, especially if no one noticed she herself was missing for days?

Today I was in NE Calgary looking something up on a map while I sat in my car. Suddenly I heard someone trying to open my car door. I turned around and a man around 40 was peering in. I got so scared. I jumped and almost let out a scream. He immediately backed away from the car door and looked apologetic. What would have happened if my car hadn't locked. Was it a mistake or was he looking for cars to rob or to do a car jacking? The world is a dangerous place for women, we are smaller a weaker. There was a case just a few weeks ago where a full grown woman in the states was dragged into a car by a man

So sorry, this is the other side of the cop coin that people do not always see.Glad your Dad survived!

I just realized that I'm coming up to my tenth anniversary on this website in about 12 days!
That's a new one for me.

I bet you have thousands of posts on here! That's a long sleuthing career, right on Otto! :)

Forgive me but, how about a partridge in a pear tree?!

Maybe this is better Christmas music .. I can't tell anymore.

In any case, it appears to me that Shannon Madill (nee Burgess) has been murdered at the age of 25.

I hope it's her husband, as the alternative is much worse.
In the meantime, I hope people are searching the narrow walkways between building in Inglewood searching for clues.

Did she wear boots that laced up, or slip on shoes? Slip on shoes fall off when a woman is fighting against being dragged away, boots stay on.

What was Shannon wearing ... what did she normally wear ... when she left the house without her cellphone?

On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eight Maids a Milking
Seven Swans a Swimming
Six Geese a Laying
Five Golden Rings
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

We don't know whether the police have been allowed to look around at Shannon's townhouse. At the press conference, police said that they didn't yet have a full accounting of what was missing at the house. Police are committing heavy resources to unusual disappearances and crimes in the city - police are not prejudging the disappearance of Shannon, and the family is very cooperative. Shannon's disappearance could be a suicide, it could be a head game where she's playing fantasy/reality war games in Vancouver and Toronto, it could be that the estranged husband with whom she was living snapped with jealousy and murdered her, and it could be that someone grabbed her off the street after "she left" on Nov 26 after midnight.

Police can't search the house without a search warrant, and they can't get a search warrant without probable cause. A husband has no reason, nor obligation, to allow police to toss his home simply because his wife vanished off the street after leaving their home late at night ... after a long drive from Edmonton ... after being awarded the part in a very exciting film opportunity the following weekend.
Where is it written that she disappeared of the street, that she left the house after she got home from Edmonton, and that the 100 Hour Film Race is a prestigious film event?

Anyone with a camera is allowed to make a 5 minute film for once in a lifetime opportunity to win $1500.

The romantasizing of this "role" is beyond the pale.

Since no one knows if she was assaulted in, or abducted from the home, one would think ALL the family members would INSIST that LE go through the home with a fine tooth comb. If the husband was away at all, the place could have been cleaned up after an altercation.

Wow, that's some story. So sorry News, these real life super heroes and stories of bravery are unbelievable sometimes :(
