There is some weird stuff on Harrington. I think if Shannon is alive that she has been working under the table in some form of sexual gig, possibly a dancer. I also think she may have been doing that prior to her disappearance.

I would agree with that. All of the online evidence and other rumors out there point to it. Perhaps that is why the family has said so little. Perhaps they were offended or possibly ashamed by her lifestyle. I personally believe the police are investigating something along this route.

I haven't been able to find any profiles on FetLife that definitely belong to SB. Some connections (maybe insignificant): "nsfw" (Not Safe For Work), like SB's second FB profile, is a common handle on FetLife. [modsnip]

The MAsT meeting (Masters And slaves Together) is a monthly thing in Calgary. I came across a comment by someone in Calgary, stating that he tells his family he's "going to karaoke." Could just be a coincidence.

The more of this I read, the more I am convinced that it is SB's lifestyle that will hold the answers as to what happened. I heard a couple of unsubstantiated claims that she was a regular at a number of swinger's clubs in the city. At first, I did not take it seriously...now the evidence is showing there may be some validity to this. Also, her online activity does not prove, but seems to suggest a lifestyle that was focused on "meeting" a variety of people. There is certainly nothing wrong with this and she did not deserve a bad outcome, however it may take some of the suspicion off of the EX and opens up the possibility of a variety of external forces.

that's why I'm curious,, why would someone in nyc, out of the blue, a week after smb's disappearance, decide to follow smb who hasn't posted since a year and a half prior to her vanishing? what is-who is the common ground???

other things,, vh had something about a workshop for boundary crossing or abuse in the bdsm crowd around that time.

I was thinking, what if protocol wasn't followed at an event or a meeting,, a choking gone wrong,, someone panics, etc, etc. just a thought.

To review:
--Shannon was last seen at about 12:30am at home on Thursday November 27th
--her family reported her missing on Monday December 1st after she missed a meeting she'd planned (on Tuesday November 26th), to go to Stage West on Sunday November 30th
--on Monday, when they realized she'd missed the meeting on Sunday, they discovered she'd missed a a lot of other plans on the weekend
--the press conference was on Friday December 5th
--LE made limited comments on bank activity, stating that they haven't seen any activity since she left, but are looking into activity prior to that:"if someone is going off the grid, they have to make plans, so we're definitely looking at that."
--EM stated at one point that SB had been in contact "with my brother the day before she left"
--both LE and the family repeated "she's not in trouble; you're not in trouble"
--on December 13th it was announced that LE was looking for her in Toronto or Vancouver, as they "have received information suggesting she may be in one of those two cities."

Does anyone think that:
--SB's common ground with VH may have been connected to Toronto or Vancouver?
--there is evidence that she had been preparing to leave (bank info suggesting she'd prepared)?
--LE and her family think that she may have left intentionally (EM: "the day before she left"; LE looking for her in Toronto or Vancouver)?
--SB could have had substantial time to travel quietly in the 4 days between her last seen date and being reported missing?
--she could have left voluntarily (and maybe planning just a short time, to meet her brother on Sunday), but then encountered trouble afterwards (maybe even with the person she had plans with--the person that picked her up at home or she met with)?
--LE and family repeat "you're not in trouble" as they are aware of her possible links to BDSM?

Guys, you've been doing a lot of work to find out what happened to Shannon. That being said, you can't sleuth people that have not been named a suspect or a POI. Doesn't mean you can't do it on your own, but you can't post it here.

Especially odd considering SB has only 17 followers. Any connections somewhere among the other 16?
I don't know much about Twitter, but is it possible she followed SB in error? She follows a lot of people, and there is someone else with a Twitter name similar to SB's.

Thank you for sharing this. Sad story. I wonder who said the truth, Seth or Kat... I'd tend to believe Kat over Seth but since he hasn't said a word during his trial and I'm missing many details, I could definitely be wrong.

I just hope that something like this didn't happen to Shannon.

Most individuals involved in bdsm are actually good people. But accidents do happen, especially when there is breath play (choking) involved, or suspension. And I also believe that there are masters who go over the top and take full control over their submissives to the point where they are only living and thinking for their master.

I don't really fully understand how Shannon can be tied to the bdsm community yet, but if she was, maybe there's a slight chance that this could help understand what happened to her. But I do think that it could also just be a ''regular'' dating site encounter that went wrong.

The thing with bdsm is that it should be done with mutual respect. Yes, the master has some control over the submissive, but there are normally limits that are set beforehand and also the use of safe words. I know a lot of people refer to Fifty Shades of Grey when they think of bdsm but it's not the way it's done in most cases. It shouldn't be that way.
