If you look at the LinkedIn profile, Shannon is listed as one of the contacts. My bet is that it is the right profile.

Oh just realized .. maybe you have your own linkedin profile so you can see who another's connections are? Yes/No?

Stan, you stud! Agreed though, when I met my dream guy (at the time) in my mid-20s we stayed up until at least 4am the night we met and were joined at the hip after. He basically was at my house from that day on much to my roommate's dismay, and I don't blame her, 3rd wheel/boyfriend/girlfriend roommates are awful for the one not in a relationship!

BUT again, who would put their family through that. I sure wouldn't and can't see Shannon being so blinded by love (or lust or sex or money or whatever) to do so....JMO

I don't think she was blinded by lust or money, rather, the convenience of hookups coincided with a rough patch and gave her the space she needed, possibly with benefits.

My brother's not a big guy, actually built a bit like JB, and he did it for a few months. Demo/excavation is a mixed bag---some doing it as a career, some as an in-between, and others as the only thing they could get. Most people in it are not working with explosives, that's left to specialists. From what i know of how it can operate in other Canadian cities, it can be a shady business, some people working cash-in-hand.

At the time, my brother had three degrees, though some of his coworkers had just secondary school education, others maybe less. He did that to fill the time before getting what he considered a real job. He had some absolute nightmare stories (I distinctly remember one of having to clean up a building where some livestock had died a few months prior...).

Thanks for telling us about your brother. It shows that JB could be working there even if it isn't a real career choice.

And about the livestock... :puke:

otto, not to pick on you at all.. but just like not all people wear gloves and a hat when it hovers around zero degrees celcius, not all people have normal, disciplined sleep patterns either. Some people's systems are on a clock, while others feel more comfortable letting their bodies rule the day, and if they overindulge, they pay the consequences, like if they stay up too late, they may find they are tired at work the next day. The world is full of people who are all different and functioning in their own ways.

And, as a proof, I am one of those people. I'm 32 and still can't go to bed at night at a normal time, no matter what. I may work at 6:30 am the next day and still, my body and brain won't let me go to bed before well past midnight. I don't go out that late anymore since I have a seven year old kid and my social life has been kind of on hold for years, but I used to go out late at night with friends and my husband when I wasn't a parent.

I don't know if this was ever discussed, but there are weekly gatherings at Shotz Bar & Grill for the LARP Calgary members. I know SB wasn't a member anymore, but it seems like she was talking to someone who she used to role play with on FB right before her disappearance.

This may be a stupid idea but maybe she went there to meet with that person she was chatting with on FB? Or someone else from that group...

Here is the link to the event calendar of Calgary's LARP.

Wings Night- Shotz Bar
DateMer., 26 novembre 2014, 19:00 – 22:30
DescriptionCome Join us for wings at Shotz Bar and Grill. We are just getting together to talk LARP and hang out. No costuming required! We are usually the large noisy group up on the left side of the bar.

But I realize that I could be wrong about it because of the timeframe... At what time did she last post on Facebook that night? I'm asking because I live in Quebec and, when I look at her FB timeline, her last post was made at 12:06 am but since there is a time difference between Alberta and Quebec, what was the time in Calgary when she last posted? Was it 12:06 am Calgary time or 12:06 Quebec time? :waitasec:

I snooped FB and found that SB's sister EM and her BF went to the Bahamas early January (maybe this was posted already?) but wouldn't it be nice if Shannon escaped to the Bahamas? Wishful thinking I guess….the family 'carrying on' with normal activities but with utter deafening silence has me concerned. I feel like they are following instructions from LE to not make pleas to the media, no FB page, no reaching out to the public, no posters, etc. and are to 'carry on normally'.

Also, when SB's brother TM first posted about her missing back on Dec 4th on FB he commented that it's frustrating because there is very little even they can do at this point and the vast majority right now is in the hands of the police. And then shortly after that there's been an outright stop of all mention of Shannon in all media. This seems very controlled and like instructions from LE to me. If there wasn't any control or no one was following instructions there would be someone out there making a fuss somewhere to get her in the news or somewhere on social media.

I remember her last FB post time was posted somewhere upthread or in the first thread, can't remember! There was discussion to nail down the correct time (I'm in BC and I think Alberta is ahead an hour). My time reads 9:06pm, so Alberta time I think it was 10:06pm. Correct me if I'm wrong here though sleuthers...

I'm in BC too Lala, and it shows 9:06, so yes, would be 10:06 Alberta time.

Just revisiting that last post of SB's .. "I will forever miss the man who may or may not have knocked me up when I was whoring myself out for funzies... I miss Alliance"

Sounds to me that perhaps when SB arrived home, she was accused of inappropriate behaviour by someone, and this is her public slam, lashing out .. kind of like a "yeah, sure". Her reference to missing Alliance (which was meeting that night) could be the contrast between having a non-judgmental group that she had/has fun with compared to arriving home to accusations.

Agreed, I interpreted it as a jab at someone. It seems like she was using her involvement in Alliance against JB.

I think my brother quit shortly after that (and losing his lunch), and a few of his coworkers quit on the spot. They hadn't been told in advance, opened a locked door, and...

Has anyone found anything said about her laptop/tablet or other belongings? I remember them confirming at the presser that her purse, cellphone, and car were at home, and her keys and wallet (and possibly passport) were gone. LE and her family stated (IIRC) that they hadn't yet done an inventory of what else was missing/at the home. Have they updated the public about this in any way yet? Would they normally release this inventory? (I'm thinking probably not...)

Does anyone else feel that their sleuthing has transitioned to accommodate for the family's silence and LE's suspicion of no foul play? As much as I'd like to know what's happened to SB, I want to know what evidence (that we don't have) is leading the family and LE to behave in the way they are. This may just be stating the obvious, but they know more about it than we do.

And now a silly (sillier?) question. I'm literally on the other side of the world and these time zones are messing with my head. Right now, it looks like she discovered before she was to go to Edmonton that her brakes were done, but then she got there somehow and then back to Calgary. Or did she discover the brakes were shot in Edmonton and then had them repaired there? If not, were the brakes ever repaired? Would it be at all possible for someone to bring me up to speed, and review the dates and times, Calgary time, of her last Facebook posts for me? Much obliged. :)

'sillier' question being addressed by silly ;)

Nov 25 SB posted breaks went for $h!t (no time/location showing in post but obviously prior to DM's subsequent post at 11:58 pm)
Nov 25 @ 11:58 pm Alberta time, a DM pointed out her spelling error re "breaks"
Nov 26 @ 12:03 am Alberta time, SM acknowledged DM's spelling correction and edited her earlier post to "brakes"
Nov 26 @ 10:06 pm Alberta time, SM made her last post wrt "missing the man ... funzies ..."

Approx 22 hours between her Nov 26 12:03am and 10:06pm posts .. given her phone (presumably smart phone with internet access?) was left at home, are we 100% certain that it was SB who made that last, somewhat caustic sounding post?

Ahh...so much clearer now. I've moved into a land of shadow and substance...I've crossed over into understanding time zones! ;)

Now that I have some numbers to work with, I can add that the original post would have been at 11:54pm (you can see this in the edit history of the post).

SB wasn't a real prolific FB poster, so I find it interesting that her very last post prior to disappearing is the one that seems most out of character for her, preceded only by the one about her brakes and peeing someone off. Did she possibly outright accuse someone of messing with her brakes?

Going back to that initial reference to a 'messy divorce'. No kids involved, no major assets we are aware of, both appearing to have agreed to an open relationship ... what's to argue?

Ah, but wait 'til we have to deal with daylight saving time, or Saskatchewan and Newfoundland? LOL .. never mind, it's just something to keep Canadians thinking during our long winters ;)

Okay .. I've revamped that to reflect the times shown in the edit history:

Nov 25 @ 11:54 pm Alberta time, SB posted breaks went for $h!t (no location showing)
Nov 25 @ 11:58 pm Alberta time, a DM pointed out her spelling error re "breaks"
Nov 26 @ 12:02 am Alberta time, SM acknowledged DM's spelling correction and edited her earlier post to "brakes"
Nov 26 @ 10:06 pm Alberta time, SM made her last post wrt "missing the man ... funzies ..."

You have to wonder, really. And ask how they could be engaged for a year and a half, and possibly dating for maybe around three years before that (I'm basing it "Ash" from her FB memo being JB, but that's not for sure), and then 6 months into the marriage, it gets "messy"? I won't put it as bluntly as SB did in her "funzies" post, but maybe there was some truth to what she was saying? Was she pregnant?

I'm stuck on how she got to and from Edmonton now...if JB and SB were trying to live separate lives, to fulfill the requirements of a 1 year separation prior to a divorce, it could be a point of conflict if SB had to ask JB for help, be that financial or otherwise. Did JB drive SB to and from Edmonton? Was some of the mess trying to sort out how they were going to separate their lives?

Ugh, brain hurts...time zones can take their daylight and put it where the sun don't shine :)
