If your sister were missing, how comfortable would you be answering questions of if she was part of a sex club? Have the police questioned the other members of her inner circle of sexual partners? Did they meet once a week or was there any formal gatherings? Were there any satanic rituals associated with any of this?I don't think the lifestyle is really a big deal considering what's in movies (50 Shades was a box office smash), TV and the net these days.
The persecution days are outdated nowadays with lifestyle choices, people are much more open minded with people's choices. They might not agree, but for her age group it's not shocking stuff. Maybe a bit embarrassing, cringe worthy for the family to know, but I don't think that would embarrass her and keep her a way. I picture Shannon throwing her head back, laughing and saying charmingly 'oh my, you all are a nosy bunch' or something funny and witty like that, having a laugh and might even like the ruckus a little.
As well, once personal information gets out like that, good luck living it down. How can she apply for a regular job? Expect the "sleazy boss" to be very interested after Googling the sordid details. If you were hiring her for a daycare job... would you? What if parents found out? Do you take that risk with your business?
How much does this sort of publicity negate the acting work?
Should she eventually make her way back, I would expect a name change.
