Like I said, it is often difficult for a layman to be able to determine how long a body has been decomposing. A "while" is a very broad term, given that they didn't state whether it was almost a skeleton or just badly decomposed.

This will sound macabre and I apologize, but how long for hair to decompose? I suppose clothing could give clues, but I am curious how the body was noted to be female. Perhaps the hair?

Hair takes a very long time. Additionally, it is reported that the body was partially naked. Even a badly decomposed body still has the same anatomical makeup as one that is alive. Perhaps it was evident?

Sounds like an additional body was found yesterday, but doesn't sound like they are referring to *this* one. It was found outside of Grande Prairie and they believe it is Adrian Jordan Snider. I started a thread for him a couple of nights ago when I read about his case. Two brothers have been arrested for his murder. A post-mortem is to be performed on that body today as well.

The only indication we have that it was a female is from the person who found the body. Police aren't revealing *anything* at all. Interesting, their lack of information.. but meanwhile, I believe they already know who it is, at least with high certainty, and their investigation ramps up.

According to CPS FB page it's in relation to a March missing person's investigation. The only public investigation from then is JRN. SB went missing in November.

I am more concerned about the three-quarters naked part. I think they could tell it was a partially naked body.

3/4 naked. That's disturbing.

If the body was there for 8 weeks,I would think animal damage and scattering of bones( sorry for the graphics),would have occurred.

after finding out it was jessica's body i went over to her thread and was able to read so many news articles, and even a facebook page made for her. why on earth aren't shannon's family not trying to get that kind of publicity. it's like she's forgotten already

Yep I asked my connection about starting one and they said no. There has been silence since shortly after her disappearance.
