GUILTY Canada - Shannon Burgess, 25, Calgary, 26 Nov 2014 - #4 *Arrest*

  • #301
I suspect women who don't watch the news, and I don't think his last name is in the OKC profile so how much info could they get from a goog search? I didn't really even notice seeing him much in the news when Shannon was missing.

Point made! Wow tho, just freaking :thud: --- I suppose they will be called as witnesses (store clerks...& his company.)

Snipped...

Who "see's a guy" who's wife is missing?!?!?!?!?! Apparently there is no shortage of those who do...

:banghead:
I wouldn't be surprised if this Avenue was used in an Undercover operation

Maybe this last FB post of Shannon's (we have all pondered over) was all it took to tick Josh off:

Shannon H Burgess I will forever miss the man who may or may not have knocked me up when I was whoring myself out for funzies... I miss Alliance

I was thinking the same thing. I hope the cps does another anatomy of an investigation video with this as the focus case. It will be great.

Do we have confirmation that it was Josh Burgess who last saw Shannon at 12:30am on November 27th? I am wondering if it could have been a family member such as her parents or her siblings.

I see no reason to question which of Shannon's family members was at home with her when she was last seen. Shannon was last seen at the home she shared with her husband at 12:30AM on Nov. 27, 2014. Other than the husband, who lived at the house, who else would be there? Why would other family members be at their house on a week night at 12:30AM?

"Shannon Burgess, 25, was last seen about 12:30 a.m. Nov. 27 at her home in the 1900 block of Spiller Rd. in southeast Calgary."

Pondering (that's not quite the correct user name) posted yesterday that perhaps Shannon was pregnant. Is there any chance of that? That's a common motive for men to murder their wives.

Defence lawyer Allan Fay should get on it, get the dating profile info from Josh, and wipe that info before all of his dating escapades are made public.

We are having the same thoughts. I was just about to post a similar hypothesis. There was an awkward pause when they discussed Shannons medical status at the news conference. Could this be the case?

Ditto,

http://www.womensweb.ca/violence/dv/pregnancy.php
rbbm.

"For many women, pregnancy marks the beginning of a turbulent and violent time. It's estimated 1 in 5 women will be abused during pregnancy. Even more alarming—as the murders of Liana White and Laci Peterson suggest—homicide during pregnancy now surpasses automobile accidents and falls as the leading cause of death."

snip>

"The incidence of violence in pregnancy may range from 4 to 17 percent. These figures may significantly underestimate the problem, as many women do not report their experiences of violence.

Of women who had ever been married, were 18 years of age or over and who reported violence during pregnancy by a marital partner, 40 percent reported that it began while they were pregnant.

Twenty-one percent of women abused by a current or previous partner were assaulted during pregnancy.

Women who were abused during pregnancy were four times as likely as other abused women to say they experienced very serious violence (beating, choking, gun/knife threats, sexual assault)."

We know that Josh last saw Shannon alive at home at 12:30AM on November 27.
From that, I'm going to assume that after 12:30AM on November 27, Josh no longer saw Shannon alive at home ... meaning, by that time, she was deceased.
That's the time I'm going to work with based on the facts of the case, but please feel free to present other facts that suggest another time of death.
Again, we do NOT know that Josh last saw Shannon alive at 12:30 a.m. - We only know that that is the time he gave police for when he claimed to have last seen her.

I also found this statement in bad taste. We would hope this murderer would be overwhelmed! That's a good thing!

He was likely simply answering the reporter's question...

"How is your client holding up?" Asks the reporter.

"He is overwhelmed..." Replies Fay.

Can you please provide a link to where it states that Josh Burgess saw her at home at 12:30 am? All I have seen is a family member saw her at home. They didn't specify who.

I am in no way in the world trying to defend her husband but I don't know where on earth you're getting your info from. How can you say he planned to kill her, you're basing that strong assertion on what exactly? This has certainly not been reported by LE nor could it be at this stage of the game. How do you know he watched her die? None of us know the circumstances or what took place in that home so how can you make these claims/assertions? *confused*

No. because he watched her die. He planned to kill her. He caused her death then denied her medical help. To me...this is intentional premeditated homicide. 1st degree MURDER. It's times like this I wish we had the death penalty.

Given that her husband has been charged w/ murder and concealing her body for 7 months in/on their shared residence, I'm not sure that he's all that credible. Just because he claims he last saw her alive at 12:30am on Nov 27 surely doesn't make that a 'fact.' IMO, a fact is something that can be proven, corroborated, has been witnessed by someone else who can verify. We (the general public) have no idea what time she left Edmonton and what time she would have arrived home the afternoon or evening of Nov 26th. She could have been dead by 11pm for all we know. I wouldn't put any stock in anything this guy has to say or has said in the past. He's not exactly a pillar of truth and integrity. Way back when she first went missing, several of us questioned this "12:30am" time from him............asking if there was anyone else who could corroborate her having allegedly left their home at 12:30am as Josh stated she had............because even back then, not even knowing what we know now obviously, we recognized that this was merely what he was claiming, but that did not make it a fact.

We have no idea as to the time of death, not even sure if an medical examiner could estimate a TOD this long after the fact. IMO the only person who would know with certainty is the man who has been charged with her murder.........who stood there at a family press conference next to her own Mother while her sister spoke on behalf of the family and pleaded for anyone with any info to notify CPS, knowing full well he was responsible for her death and that he had concealed her body in or on the property they shared..........the same guy all of these months who has been aware of her family's stress and grief and loss and turmoil and pain and suffering and questions and desperately hoping she'd come back home when in fact he was the one responsible for her being dead. Nothing that comes out of this guy's mouth, in the past or in the future is going to necessarily be factual because I would imagine like any murderer, he'll say whatever he needs to to hopefully save his sorry 🤬🤬🤬.

Plus the photos posted in his OKC profile show him looking very very different than the guy shown in the family press conference back in early December.....his hair at the PC was much longer, he had a beard. It doesn't seem unreasonable to think that there are a lot of woman who (sadly) don't watch the news or keep up to date on what's going on in the world around them......and even if they had been aware of Shannon missing, had never seen the very brief shots of him at the PC (where he looked totally different than profile pics). Would be more interesting to know what he would tell the girls/women he dated........about his marital status, if married where his wife was, etc etc.

I suspect women who don't watch the news, and I don't think his last name is in the OKC profile so how much info could they get from a goog search? I didn't really even notice seeing him much in the news when Shannon was missing.

ETA: Can't imagine he would volunteer the information either, but some women are into that :|

Otto, perhaps you weren't involved in this case here from the beginning. It was her husband Josh who had reported to LE that he had last seen her at their home at 12:30am on Nov 27th. Given that he's been charged with her murder and hiding her body for the past 7 months while he watched her family suffer and wonder and worry, and while he was active on a dating site, I think it would be fair to say that that time of 12:30am is not a "fact" but merely a time he reported to LE. I'm pretty doubtful that what he was really telling them was that that was the moment in time that she was last alive prior to him murdering her.
