I keep wondering how they are going to get out of the Zanny story. They have to know by now that is not going to fly.

If the lawyers know the "Zanny story isn't going to fly" and have rejected it as part of their defense, then they are saying they know their client is a colossal liar.

Thank you for clearing that up. I honestly didn't know (hey if you don't ask you'll never learn...right lol) Like I said, once she is convicted (and i think she should and will be) I would like it to stay that way and not over-turned over something as silly as I was seeing that to be (before you explained it). Again, thank you...even though you seem to be a "saints fan" (am from Indiana so am a HUGE colts fan) sorry...just had to throw that in there

No problem, I had the same reservations you did, before it was explained to me. Now I feel better;) Thought I'd pass on the cheer. lol

Yep, Saints fan...but I have great respect for the Manning boys. (and it doesn't hurt that Peyton was born in Now Orleans, and Archie used to play for us;)) They are all class acts....but NO WAY was I gonna root against my Saints! haha.

I don't know if anyone noticed it yesterday, in the hearing, but when it was mentioned that Blanchard Park was on one of the search forms, Casey broke out into a slight smile/smirk. I guess by now she thinks, that the mention of Blanchard Park, is ridiculous (her defense team has hundreds of scenarios to take the Blanchard Park story out of the picture by now, or so she thinks). I can't wait unitl she is confronted, in court, with all of the outlandish stories she told, as an explanation for Caylee's kidnapping.

ITA. Whenever I go over the whole case in me head, I think of the defense as a little kid who tries to empty Lake Erie with his or her little sand pail. Re-reading the police's written report of the whole Universal fiasco/trip to her "office" makes me pause. Is she going to turn around at the last moment and say to her attorneys "Uh, guys...". Some days I think so, others I don't. Slightly OT, watch the hearing with the sound off. VERY interesting, at least for me.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The Zanny story is a mountain they can't move.
A lose-lose situation for the defense.

Not only are they going to have to prove someone moved the body (it seems they are going for Kronk), but also that Zanny was the killer. Double nightmare for the defense.

mmm The good thing about Casey is that when one lie is disproved, she has another one handy to take it's place. Remember she was protecting her family so no telling how many fibs she was forced to tell...:innocent:

The bad thing though, for the defense, is that KC will have to take the stand to change her story again. They would not put her on the stand, imo. Looks like they are stuck with the Zanny did it version.

But how could the defense possibly explain away the "nanny story" that she wrote out in a sworn statement to LE, that she fed to her family and friends. I mean, that was the official lie for what, the first year of this case? How can they possibly undo everything that was said in the M&M depos by CA and GA? All having to do with ZFG?

THIS CASE IS MAKING ME CRAZY. I for one will be so glad when the trial comes and goes so I can get on with my life!

Mr Mason said 'There's no way they could put her on the stand, there's just too much to cross examine her on' - of course, that was before he was hired, but he was right, it would be impossible.

I believe that they are going to say she made up the Zanny story because she was afraid to tell the truth. (which would still be a lie) I think that they are going to claim that Caylee accidentally drowned or that she was left in the car seat in the hot car and died, and KC panicked when she couldn't get hold of her parents. They are then going to say she made up the kidnapping story after remembering the story on One Tree Hill. They are going to say that KC was afraid of facing her family and admitting that it was her fault that Caylee died. That she drove around for days agonizing on what to do and then she confessed to someone what had happened and then that person told her they would take care of it and put Caylee in the woods. I believe that is why during her interigation that she kept saying that she honestly didn't know where Caylee's body was. They are going to try to say that yes, KC was guilty of negligence, but that she was not guilty of murder and that she was not involved in the disposal of Caylee's body. They are going to try and get one person to sympathize with a young mother who made a mistake and that whoever she confided in did not encourage her to come forward with the truth and then the story got too deep and made it even worse. Somebody will get thrown under the bus. All of this is my humble opionion of course...

I'm only at your post with one page to go - but some information was left off Babycat/LittlePainter's post.
The 4000 names contain all the names, addresses and personal information for ALL searchers who were in the Orlando area. Mark NeJames, along with Brad Conway identified 34 searchers, and made copies of those 34 searchers files and hand delivered those files to Jose Baez's office.
The court agreed that if the 4000 searchers information was released to Baez, under the Sunshine Laws they would become public - very unfair to the searchers.
Baez needs to just go to MNJ's office read the files, tab the ones that interest him and the Judge will review them. All very easy - IF Baez would get his lazy butt over there and do it.

I can sympathize with her, JandKmom. But my sympathies cease when it comes down to her sacrificing her own child because she felt slighted as a child herself. And I can never simply put Caylee's death down to a "mistake" since there is plenty of evidence to demonstrate a willful cover-up. This isn't like hiding the wrappers from candy bars one ate but shouldn't have, or not taking responsibility for leaving the yard gate open (which not ONE Anthony admits to having done) or forgetting to bring the cat in overnight. This event ended the life of a little girl whose very existence was an impetus for a danse macabre inside this very sick family dynamic.

When you have a pool you have to watch your child and take steps to make sure they do not have access to the pool. But knowing where your child is at all times is your responsibility. Now leaving a child in a hot car is a crime. You can't leave your child in a car by themselves. JMO

How does that explain away the use of "Zanny the Nanny" for almost two years? Maybe her parents shouldn't have been so quick to say they have known about Zanny for so long. Was she afraid to tell the truth that she didn't have a job? Or was she only afraid after she murdered Caylee?

There is no way a jury is going to believe that this was an accident. IMO.

I do believe they will try to do this... it just won't work.

I picked up on that, too. Later, (she's alone at defense table) she's paging through JB's folder. Something startled her because you can see her eyes get really wide for a second or two and she appears to be breathing a little deeper. I wonder what that was about??

Don't get me wrong...I believe she is guilty of murder, just from the statements that her counsel has made, I believe that is what they are going to use. I don't sympathize with her at all, but we have all seen posters that do sympathize with her and like Baez said, it only takes one to get her acquited, althought actually it is a mistrial :)

They are going to use CA's theory of whoever was watching Caylee was the nanny because KC didn't want CA to think that just anyone was watching Caylee, but that there was a "nanny". They are going to say she was afraid of her mom's disapproval all along, and that is why they didn't know she was a credit short until right at graduation time, and that is why she wouldn't tell them she was pregnant, and that is why she wouldn't tell them that she didn't have a job. They are going to throw CA and GA under the bus and make someone feel sorry for KC...I see it coming. They are not looking to get the entire jury to believe it was an accident...just one.

I totally agree with you...maybe I didn't word what I was saying correctly. I believe that she is guilty, but that is the theory that I think the defense seems to be heading.

yes, you are observant. her eyes did get wide as if she read something that shocked her. she gulped and looked as if she had lump in her throat couple times.

I think it's possible the defense will go in that direction. However, the State's case is so overwhelmingly full of evidence to the contrary I don't think the defense can pull it off. At least I hope not!
