Defense attorneys for Casey Anthony conducted depositions last week on several FBI employees in Washington.

from the link above...
The analysts were asked specifically about duct tape that prosecutors said Anthony used to intentionally suffocate her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.

It's about time the defense is getting to the nitty gritty of this case. I wonder how well they do...

Do you think LBK is only going to hear what she wants to hear? Any bets? I do and here's my :twocents: to mark my bet.

IIRC, Inmate Anthony has 7 charges relating to the murder of Caylee. One of which is a manslaughter charge for a child under 12...

I'm wondering with so much stacked against Inmate Anthony, why do they not try and convince her to plead guilty to the manslaughter charge. IMO, this would take away a DP sentence and give her a LWOP or a 25-life sentence. Wouldn't that be the way to go? Why prolong the inevitable?? I feel they will do as they did with the fraud charges..wait until the 11th hour and plead guilty but that will have to be for Inmate Anthony to admit to her role in Caylee's demise..I hate to have to hear the gory details of Caylee's death and if she chooses for that trial by jury we will hear those details. Either way, I don't feel she will be walking out of prison to get on with her RVing dreams or Costa Rica dreams. I feel the defense needs to reel her back into reality before it smacks her dead in her face...JMHO

Justice for Caylee

IIRC the SA did offer her the chance to take a plea, providing she gave details of where to locate the child.. she would not... but that was revoked once the child was found with duct tape over her airways.

Maybe in the days before the general public had seen every kind of court case, CSI, Police documentary programs on TV, a Jury might be susceptible to her argument that ALL evidence should be considered contaminated because a stray piece of DNA from a FBI examiner was found on one piece of evidence- but no more, she is going to be proposing that to a fairly sophisticated audience and it will not work.... IMO

Since the duct tape was contaminated, the jurors should consider all other evidence contaminated. Weave this into the GIANT conspiracy theory....bleh!

But, but, but...there is no evidence other than the fact that the duct tape is on the child's face. No crimescene DNA, fingerprints, etc. All gone from the environment. The only DNA is from contact with the techs. If there is no DNA from Caylee, of all people, no one else's would be expected to be found. Only conspiracy will sound like it's coming from the defense to prove someone else is responsible for Caylee's death. Well, it will be interesting to see how it would be presented in court. Let's hope juror's have some common sense. JMO

Strategy---Since the FBI compromised one piece of evidence while collecting or analyzing, the "OJ defense" will begin. Other evidence such as Caylee’s decomposing hair could have also been compromised/planted. The crime scene investigators will be highly scrutinized at all locations (KC’s car trunk, the backyard, and the location of Caylee’s body to deflect scrutiny from KC.)

Remember this: Cochran told the jury that the defense would prove that the evidence against Simpson was "contaminated, compromised, and therefore, ultimately corrupted.

Yes, by a tech working on the duct tape AFTER it was taken off of Caylee's skull! It was there, defense, nothing you can do about it. And you want talk about evidence being contaminated? How about Casey and her family being right up there contaminating everything! I don't think you can get evidence thrown out that's contaminated by your own client and her family.

This defense, or lack thereof, is giving me a headache. Oh wait! I see the new strategy! It was accident, and Casey tried to cover it up out of fear! And someone later found the body, put duct tape on it, and then moved it! So see, it's all a big misunderstanding!

Dear God, I am starting to think they are going to want all jurors to leave their common sense at the door. I almost want this to go to trial just to see the defense make fools of themselves!

But there is no blood to be compromised....there is no DNA to be compromised, there is no body to be compromised. There are bones that only prove no abuse. There is a skull with duct tape wrapped around to the back of the skull holding the matted hair in place. Plants growing through the bones...hard to compromise that. Blanket, tape, bag, trash bags all weathered to prove they were not recently planted. So how is it possible to compromise. KC is not OJ. No one is going to ask her to put on a glove. No one threw a dead body in KC's trunk and no one but the killer put the body where it was found. Interestingly, CA and GA upon hearing Caylee was missing and smelling the trunk went INTO the backyard to search for their dead granddaughter. Looking under the playhouse and around the yard.......Did they smell something earlier in the month that did not sit right with them and upon smelling the trunk thought they needed to check the backyard????? I mean why the backyard?? They admitted doing it. Something made them go back and check the yard and I bet it was an earlier smell they detected but will never admit, well except in court if that question is asked because they would have to tell the truth at that point. As much as people were shocked and dismayed at the OJ verdict it did have one good result in that I don't believe anyone will fall for that kind of simplistic argument again. Also, JB is nothing like Cochran. Neither is CM. They will not have a partisan following that Cochran had. Cochran was preaching to the choir all the way through that trial...

And wasn't Cochran a defense attorney you just loved to hate. He was a true showman in the courtroom. Stuff movies are made out of. Not many of them around that could carry a trial the way he did. Smart man.

This is probably where they will go. But, even if they get some or all of the evidence like the tape and the testing thrown out, they can't do a thing to the best evidence there is:

1. 31 days of partying.
2. NEVER reporting her daughter missing. (Cindy did it, not KC!)
3. "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car!" (Cindy A. - A nurse of decomposition.)
4. "That smell is one you never forget!" (George A. - a former detective.)

^Add to this list the fact that there isn't any proof that there ever was a Zanny the Nanny.

The only way you can get a hair with decomposition markers on it is from a dead body. So how would you think that would be compromised. We know she's dead we now have the remains. The hair has little value now because we know she is, in fact, deceased. All the hair would prove is that Caylee was dead and in the trunk. In order to PLANT the hair FBI would have had to access to the body. So are you saying the defense is going to try and prove Caylee is not dead?

I think the defense should have "folded" months ago, but since they didn't they are dumb
or desperate and will try to make evidence appear compromised or planted.

  • #376
well the defense is running out of viable options. their client is making sure of that. sure the letters put out another story{molestation} for us to focus on, instead of the fact that she continues to change her story. they keep trying that soddi scenario with no success. they propose kronk while she is writing that zany the great nanny did it. comeon. the only thing left is to attack anyone that may have had contact in the car (watch out cindy and george), because that my friends is evidence you cant dispute. yes, they found her duct taped with stuff from the house but im sure they can try and prove that someone else could have gotten into the house, in fact, theyve tried that. gave zany a key?
but baez, himself, in all of his infinite wisdom, said that miss anthony was the ONLY one who had access to that car. SLAM DUNK!!! have a sneeze on that one casey and tell me how a dead caylee ended up in your trunk. all imo!

Don't forget most of those letters were written prior to the remains being found so when KC states she has forgiven Zany (the real Zany) there was no RK in the picture yet. RA's trial and sentencing was in January 09 and she was transferred a few months after that. To my knowledge KC never mentions RK in any of her letters before or after Caylee's remains were found. So if KC has had no contact with Zany (cause Zany is in hiding, ya know, not showing her face) how would KC know RK or anyone else was responsible for putting Caylee on Suburban Drive?

Shhhhh (quiet). You are going to give the defense ideas for a different strategy, "It was the Wrong Dead Child Strategy" or "It Really Wasn't Caylee's Body Strategy".

I'd like to type "just kidding" here, but it is too early to tell how desperate the defense team will be at the time of trial.

Well, the A's would surely like everyone to buy that scenario.

Wow. If they actually try to go with THAT defense...I can't even put into words how freaking DUMB that would be.

thats kinda my point. she doesnt mention rk at all even after the remains were found even though her defense is clearly trying to throw him under the rv. and she doesnt try to explain away her car either. she just changes up her original story to confuse and distort the facts. the things she cant come up with plausible explanations for she doesnt touch on at all. has no problems talking about zanny though. shes okay with it cuz zfg does exist, in her mind. for the last four years apparently.
