Casey defense team wants tough questions asked of prosecutors??

NocturnalLady;3805142]I'll wait and see before I decide about her. My knee jerk reaction is that there has to be something seriously flawed about anyone who would become involved in this case. So far I don't think any of these people have clean hands...

They anticipate their hands to be full of dirty stinking money after this is over and they write their books....

I, too, am on "wait and see," but my suspicions are heightened about this DP degree which I'm about to receive as I matriculate through the rest of this case,
now being told in direct and subtle ways over and over that we, John & Jane Q. Public, are finally going to receive that thorough education from the best person
in the universe to serve as our school marm, guide, instructor, teacher, professor, et al (coz, y'know, the SA doesn't even have kindergarten-level understanding
about what constitutes a real DP case. For gosh sakes, they're so befuddled that they first think the DP applies to KC, then it doesn't, now again it does.
They definitely gotta be taught!)

Yeah, I feel an attack of Defiance coming on as I prepare to resist a brainwashing--coz my brain isn't even dirty--yet.

Baez is such a whiner...he really is annoying. His behavior is so immature and self-serving. This case should have been pleaded out but he is in this for publicity and fame. He suffers from illusions of adequacy.

This case is not complicated nor does it require the amount of work that Baez leads people to believe. His tactic is stalling, getting more time, then stalling. The longer it remains out of court, the more money is made. The Anthonys collect. The well may dry up after a conviction.

If this isn't a DP case, then show us.

It is murder though and the State has the right to go for DP when a Child is involved.

1. Casey has not stated it was an accident.
2. Caylee did not commit suicide
3. Unlikely, kc killed Caylee in self-defense.

Murder is conclusion and the State has the right.

I wondered how she could say that but then when asked about those motions/or was it her reasons... Lyons said, she is new and hasn't even gone thru all the material as of yet. ??? I'd say for her to declare with such certainly it was not a DP case, it didn't sound right to me that she hasn't reviewed what they have yet. Just saying....

Lyons has a long and well established history of fighting the DP, and being very against it. Which you really cannot criticize. SHe does not believe in the DP and has chosen a career path that puts this to productive use defending the accused in capital cases. Quite admirable. I assume that she took the case because it is the most public DP forum in the nation right now. Which as motives go is probably the least swarmy out of the entire defense cast of characters (ok ok it also promotes her book tha comes out soon, but at least her interests do not seem to be completely counter to he clients.)

So understand she does not need to review the evidence or case materials to personally know that it is not an appropriate DP case, simply because there is NEVER an appropriate DP case in how she looks at things. That is the basis of her lawyering.

Personally I think she is in for an incredibly rude surprise in this case though. Her normal and highly succesful approach to getting juries to choose against the DP is to appeal to their heartstrings, to try and make the defendent as human as possible, as sympathetic as possible, etc. To make them a person that the jury would not choose to sentance to death. But in this case there is no way she can overcome the victim. As soon as she starts bawling in front of the jury box all the SA has to do is pop in a video of Caylee singing or playing, and any sympathy she had is gone. Her normal approach simply cannot work in this case.

He's actually used the word before ...also incorrectly ... or is that miscorrectly? JB needs to employ a dictionary!

Don't you mean to say, JB needs to implore a dictionary?:crazy:

I thought the same thing..........she must be horrified at his motion submissions and was taking this opportunity to let him/everyone know those days are gone. I was surprised at her demeanor - I guess I expected her to be much more professional than she came off. What was your take on whether or not she'll be trading seats with JB..........will he still be playing Mr Big? I think she's going to have to take full charge - no way she would be a Titular Head since her reputation is at stake too.

But the question is, will "his girl" let Baez take a step back? Doubt it.

Bold mine.

I wonder what she will do to change it up. Because I agree that making Casey into a sympathetic human won't work.

The ONLY possible way that might work is if both of the A's get up on the stand and perform a 100% mea culpa and empty their closets of all the Anthony skeletons. They would have to cop to having serious mental illnesses of their own and to creating a monster in Casey. They would have to admit that they knew Casey had problems (just like they told numerous people) and that they did nothing to help her. They would have to admit that they knew she wasn't working, knew she stole and lied and yet did nothing but allow her to pretend - to create an elaborate fantasy life that they knowingly pretended to believe. Etc etc etc. And that's never going to happen. But I think it's really the only way that anyone would have enough sympathy for Casey to toss the DP. Because the same jury that convicts her will decide her fate. And by that point I imagine the jury will be so sickened that they will easily vote for the DP.

I watched Mike Galanos on HLN today, and they were commenting that the new attorney had, in the past, used her own tears when arguing against the DP. In other words, "my poor client". Maybe that's one of her methods. I'd love to see her in a prior case, in action. Wonder if there is anything on video that we could find.

Ask them when? When they give their regular press conferences? Oh wait ... the SAO does not hold press conferences!! JB needs to start working on the questions he is going to ask at trial and quit worrying about the questions that reporters should be asking!! Oh how I would have loved for Kathi B. to have asked, "What journalism school did you attend, Jose?"

bold = mine

You shoot, You SCORE!!!!!! One Hoohah!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I wonder if she has ever had a death penality case that involved a young child before ??

Good point. Further to the point has she handled a DP case of a mother accused of killing her child?

I don't think her record is going to survive this trial unblemished.

I also picked up on that statement she is new to the team and it will take her a few months to review everything.. Dah, so how do you know there isn't enough evidence for the Death Penilty. I know her blog is impressive and it's only been one interview for her ( ONE TOO MANY) and I am sure there will be lot's more..I guta tell ya I am not impressed with her. My intuition is telling me she is just like the others, blowing smoke !! I got a kick out of Baez acting like a spoiled child with Kathy the reporter. nanananana:bang:

Oh Honey----one day sweet lil ole Kathi B will get her turn. She will be there---up close, when JB falls on his azz. We may even get to see the look on her sweet lil face and witness the joy she gets out of it. I had much rather see Kathi when JB falls then to watch him fall.
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Casey will not like spending any time with this attorney. She has to have a MAN beside her.

Oh, did I hear kc is going to kill herself? May I ask who heard her say that?

I did catch it and immediately thought of JB's motions...I wonder what grade she would give him if he was a student in one of her classes. Maybe he will learn something from his "esteemed" DP attorney during the course of this trial...probably not though.

LMAO---Thanks for posting this---looking at it that way make me think she may not put up with his blunders. Then they will be at each others throats. JB isn't going to step down and let her take the lead. He still thinks he is in charge. Maybe the only reason she took this case was to show him how a real lawyer works. She has been sittin---watchin this mess play out on her TV just like the rest of us. Bet it would give her a big head to slam this guy up against a wall. Maybe she hates men. Go down there and teach this bungling bozo a thang or to. Kick him out the door. (oops---did I fade into a day dream)

We still don't know whats coming down the pike from the Bar either.

Baez definately does not like Kathi B from WFTV did you notice how he told her to keep the mic out of LKB face and he still couldn't answer Kathi everytime she asked what is it he feels the media should ask the SA. The only thing he could think of in the moment was why did they replace the DP in this case.

My personal feeling is further evidence found with the remains of Caylee is what caused the DP to be reinstated.

BBM
I think it might be the A's vacuum cleaners.

I'd like to know why the DP was ever taken off the table personally. I'm sorry I missed everything today. One concern (not really lol) I have regarding AL is her ability to bond with Casey. The small clip I saw on JVM, KC must have adjusted her hair 30 times in a 60 second clip while her body language leaned away from the new lawyer brought on to save her life. It won't really matter what the lawyer has to say, if KC's body language contradicts that. I couldn't take my eyes away and missed the entire audio of the clip.

My hope is that KC will think this is the smartest woman in the world and she will save her. If AL can hang in there for a month or so then KC will see that she is a better lawyer and throw him away.

Yeah, I agree with y'all about Lyons having her work cut out for her putting lipstick on this pig.

I'm thinking the ONLY time I ever started to feel the least bit sorry for Ms. KC is when I listen to about two hours of CA's nasty side and wonder what THAT would have been like 24/7. Of course I blame KC solely for Caylee's death but I tend to look at CA as pure accelerant on that brushfire. I'm thinking the best strategy for anyone to spare her life is to put the jury in a room and play CA's depo over and over for a couple of days...

Sorry Lambcop I just saw your question.

Baez snapped at KathyB to get the microphone out of the the angel of deaths face( that's not the title he used) . He also kept telling the media to ask the office across the street some questions (not exact words)and when Kathy asked a couple of times what he wanted them to ask he wouldn't answer her.
She also asked why aren't looking for the real killer. He wouldn't answer.

Doesn't he remind you of a little boy who thinks because he is in the company of his to big old aunties that nobody can touch him so he will make fun of some little kid behind the aunt's backs and the other kid can't touch him cuz one of these big women might sit on the kid.

My hope is that KC will think this is the smartest woman in the world and she will save her. If AL can hang in there for a month or so then KC will see that she is a better lawyer and throw him away.

You are wishful thinkin', Mama. This jes' ain't gonna happen. KC looks in
JB's eyes and sees 'em lookin' back at her like this $ $, and she likey lookey
more! Ya' folks who thought JB's P.I. wuz lookin' for Caylee when all the time
it wuz really some buried treasure--probably back from pirate days.
