Great post. I have the greatest empathy for the situation she was forced to grow up in. I do think she is the victim of emotional abuse and parental manipulation at a minimum.
But I don't think being a victim explains the why some commits heinous acts against others. The vast vast majority of victims of parental abuse do not become criminals.

I almost went back to my post to add similar statement that I bolded above (i hope). I don't think being a victim is a valid excuse to commit heinous acts but I do think that it offers insight into why they did.
Although you can put me on record; if anyone caused harm to my son (molested or killed him).. I would want to kill them with my bare hands and feel no remorse. I would drive myself to the jail and tell them to book me. I wasn't the victim and killing another person isn't legal but I wouldn't need a jury to tell me I was guilty. I'd say, yep... I did it and I am glad that i did.... but that is just me....
