Caylee-Search Diver Resigned As Deputy After Lying To Captain

It's not the fact that he lied. It's the fact that they go out of their way to disgrace people that try and do the right thing regarding Caylee.
If he lied about that I agree firing would be in order.

Whoa.....isn't this the same thing that some have done with the founder of KFN???? Why everyone involved can't be honest and on the up and up, is beyond me. Everyone has skeltons in their closet, but I never saw so many liars.

And we must also remember that 31 days elapsed before anyone knew anything at all aboyut Caylee being gone!

5 months is a very long time for a little 35 pound body to be out in the elements!

The man fudged on his resume and lost his job because of it. Kind of like people saying they went to college when they haven't.

He was fired. The lie didn't go unpunished. This man's "debt to society" was paid when he lost his job.

Should every mistake a person makes...EVER...even those that are NOT part of public record...be NEWS????

The guy volunteered his DIVING skills.

Can a person who makes a mistake EVER volunteer for a good cause????? Can only the PURE and PERFECT offer their time and abilities?

What does the unrelated incident in this diver's past take away from his heroic efforts without pay in alligator infested dirty water??????

I for one have not embellished my resume.
I believe with this article he supposedly mentioned it while being welcomed to the force. Something seems fishy to me with all the searches being called out. Do I smell the A's or their PI's?

This guy did embellish his resume. He got caught. He was fired.

IMO, he is allowed to have a life afterwards.

He volunteered his time diving in a mucky river full of alligators. Should doing a good deed give anyone and everyone the right to dig into and publish a person's dirty laundry?

The man volunteered his services as a diver...not a judge.

He wasn't even passing the hat around much less keeping anybody's money.

There have been a lot of liars in this case and it hasn't just been the Anthonys, it is just a shame, and actually quite disgusting that several liars in this case have originated from Law Enforcement.

The diver doesn't represent law enforcement.

I do think it's appropriate that he was asked to resign.
I DON'T understand why this matters...?
I mean, it would be nice if nothing but completely honest people were searching for Caylee, but at least someone is/was searching!

I have no problem criticizing him for lying. He sure picked the wrong guy to lie to, so he's about at the Ricardo M level on the ex-LE scale.

But how is he as a diver?

IMO, he paid for his lies by being fired.
He was there as a diver, not representing or claiming to represent LE.
I think it's a shame that everyone in this case is being picked apart except the ones that DESERVE the scrutiny (KFN crooks, the A's).

He lied to get a job.
CA lied (and continues to lie) to cover up her murderous daughter's crime. KC lied to cover up for the fact that she took the life of an innocent child, one who trusted her to love and care for her, one who named her favorite doll "mama".
Big difference.

ETA: Actually, he didn't even lie to get the job. He lied after he had the job. Just bragging about his experience to the Captain and he couldn't back it up. He wasn't fired for embellishing his resume, he resigned.

IMO, it would be different if he were the only person diving.
I see everyone's concern about this, though.
So discouraging that people of integrity are so few and far between in this case...

It doesn't & it shouldn't. His skills as a DIVER were needed & thats what he did.

I'm going to judge his character by "his heroic efforts without pay in alligator infested dirty water" (quoting Jolynna). To me, this is a big deposit into his karma bank.

I think the lying about being SF is a BIG deal. My son in law was in the Army, based at Bragg. He & my daughter have many many friends ( & they have become our s as well) who are SF. We know many who have served on both fronts. For anyone to say they are SF or even to say they are ex military is a slap in the face to the real military who leave their families & do what they need to do.

With that said, the man is an excellent diver, that was the skill that was needed. He should not have his past thrown in his face in the media.
The Antohny clan certainly has no right to call anyone a liar.
