I don't think so, near end of the pregnancy and would have been chancing the wife coming home during the 'get together'.

But just those two talking, after the trouble Maria got Cesar in... is enough to maybe infuriate his wife to that point imo.

She wasnt to have the baby for another 2 months, right? Iirc, 2-14-08?

Young lovers can do reckless things.....especially if they have had to be apart for many months. I don't think we will ever know Maria's motivation for going to his home right out of the blue.

IMO

But......... what about the 'I love Maria' statement after capture???????

It is hard to get into someone else's mind but perhaps he did love her. If I take his known history as far as I know he was not a womanizer prone to affairs. Maybe he did develop deep feelings for her and after that the sex occurred. But he still may have known he was biting the forbidden fruit and knew he had to stop it.

When he said those words I allays felt it was a proclamation that HE would never hurt Maria because he loved her, but perhaps because he did love her, someone else knew that, and hurt Maria instead.

Perhaps that could have been the whole idea. Being caught and get "even" for whatever.

Right. I just don't see 'sex' that day as a motivation for her. Hey, you ladies would know better than me anyway.

Plus it was her 2nd trip over... just doesn't seem likely to me.

I do agree that it is possible his wife could have caught them together and had a fit of anger, resentment, and rage.

I really don't think they were having sex in the garage either. What still can't be explained though, and probably never will be, is what happened to her pants. :waitasec: Now as for his wife catching them together, I will agree that is very possible. MOO

Did the state ever bring up about her pants being missing?

I wonder since so much damage was done to her lower body from the heat from the bonfire above her grave could they have just burned away?

You would think if not the State would have made a point to bring that out.

I am still trying to catch up little by little. Hard job. lol

That's what I think too. Maybe Christina was so angry to find Maria in her house....regardless of why.

Nothing has been said that I can recall of any fragments of material being found from her pants. So it does seem they were removed, but "why" is the question. :waitasec: MOO

I just cant believe the state in this case Panthera. This is one of the weirdest trials I have kept up with lately.

Heck maybe they did find remnants of her clothing in the grave and just didn't think it was necessary to enter it in the trial.

The way the state has handled this case is so frustrating.:banghead:

I don't think I have ever been so disappointed in the state's CIC than this one.

Dewey has to be depending on the emotional aspect of the case to give him a win and it is probably going to work too. I have never seen a DA give such a boring opening statement.

But if I was McNeil I would get up there and ask that jury what they have learned that they didn't know before the case started. Imo, we have no concrete evidence to be assured beyond a reasonable doubt that Cesar is the one that did this. It is mind boggling at the lack of evidence in this case.

Surely they could have put on an iron clad case but maybe they couldn't because they just couldn't link it up with facts in evidence.

Like I have said before, I have always had so many questions about Christina's true involvement and guess what? Now I have even more questions!:banghead: Sigh.

If there is just one juror with your opinion, ocean.....:)

LOL! I doubt it. I think they will feel the pressure to convict.

Well I know I could remove the personal emotional aspects of the case and just go on what was entered from the witness stand only to determine my verdict.

I have served on emotional cases before and it is hard to put that aside but as a juror I swore to uphold my oath and I based my verdict strictly on the evidence entered.

And hopefully these twelve men and women will do the same. :prayer:

Hey posters,

I am at werk and we got new computers on Friday - I have no sound today so anyone who can give updates on the closing I would be forever grateful!!!!

Good morning, everyone!

Today is a much anticipated day for me! I hope the prosecution shows me more passion than they have shown so far. I have to catch up here because I have had to completely 'redo' my computer and have gotten a better anti-virus program!

I do hope the live feed is good.

The first trial I had ever followed on TV was the Von Bulow (sp.) trial. That was a long time ago and was televised on CNN, I believe. I have watched Court TV ever since it started, so I have seen and followed many, many trials. I have been in the courtroom of some, and have been a juror as well as a grand juror in the past.

Any other trial I have followed has had a cohesiveness (word?) that this one does not have. This trial seems so cut and dried. The only passion I have seen so far was when McNeil raised his voice a couple of times. I hope to see some real passion this morning.

I just have to say that I cannot see this jury letting Cesar walk for the reasons I stated in a previous post. We will see, but I predict a guilty verdict.
