Motive, IMO was to kill anyone he could. He was shooting at passing cars. He planted explosives. Murder and terror was the motive. Again, JMO

Do you know when/where he was shooting at cars? Was he on the street or was it from inside? By the time I saw the news he was already holed up in the Planned Parenthood clinic.

The gunshots were first reported near the Planned Parenthood facility on Centennial Boulevard at around 11:38 a.m., police said.

The gunman, who has not been identified, began shooting in the parking lot of Planned Parenthood and then entered the building, a law enforcement official told NBC News.

CNN played an interesting phone interview with a woman and some local radio station who was a courier who had just picked up a package at the nearby medical building, who saw a car or van that seemed to be out of control and moving slowly through the parking lot, she also saw a man going into Planned Parenthood with a bundle. When the van finally came to a stop, she saw a man fall out of it, from the driver's seat, she described seeing 'holes' in his body and blood. She hunkered down in her vehicle and hid on the floor for the next several hours.

I probably left out some important stuff, but the general idea is there. It was fascinating. Maybe others heard it and can fill in the gaps?

I do not. All I know is what I listened to live. You would have to refer to the scanner thread for some of the victims who escaped while in the clinic, as we can't bring that up here.

The use of the word "tanks" is bothersome . I mean lets be honest they are kinda bulky and heavy,, so if someone is planning on lighting one up I think it would be safe to assume that the person doing the lighting is also doing the "I am dead"--------- now.

So why would one have more in the car? I think it would be a kind one time event!

According to reports, he had propane tanks. I heard reports of him leaving some outside and some being in his vehicle. Don't know if he had them on his person. I really do believe from everything I heard, he wasn't coming out alive. Then, somehow, they were able to get him to surrender. Quite remarkable. LE should be commended! Wasn't the outcome I predicted. Although, it may have been his plan to come out alive so he would be in the news for years to come. He's a coward, IMO.

He was firing from the Planned Parenthood clinic toward the bank and supermarket, and apparently hitting cars. During the incident at 2:14 p.m. officers in the King Soopers parking lot reported that they were under heavy automatic weapons fire. The parking lots were also declared crime scenes, and people were not being allowed to remove their cars from the lots. So I would guess that the shots where mostly fired from inside the building into the surrounding parking lots.

I'm still amazed he surrendered. Was that his plan all along or did he chicken out at the last minute? He had to know he would be trapped in there eventually.

Starting to think he had been watching a lot of Paris converage... suspect's car, a law enforcement source said. The device appears to be a propane tank with wires sticking out, the source said. It was not immediately clear if it was a hoax device.
