"CFA ALERT: Scammers Trying To Take Advantage Of Planned Parenthood Shooting."

http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/...Of-Planned-Parenthood-Shooting-359554811.html

It is bad enough that people died, now there's people taking advantage of the situation.

I tell you What Kind of a World Do We Live In?

I don't understand people TAKING and TAKING and TAKING.

Have they no shame, no conscience?

Very Pathetic and sad!

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The man she had married professed to be deeply religious. But after more than seven years with Robert L. Dear Jr., Barbara Micheau had come to see life with him as a kind of hell on earth.

By January 1993, she had had enough. In a sworn affidavit as part of her divorce case, Ms. Micheau described Mr. Dear as a serial philanderer and a problem gambler, a man who kicked her, beat her head against the floor and fathered two children with other women while they were together. He found excuses for his transgressions, she said, in his idiosyncratic views on Christian eschatology and the nature of salvation.

It is a crock . After every one of these -therapists are there . How long? How easy it to get to them? My vote 12.5 days. How many cab drivers are driving a pt to a therapist for the next 19

It makes us feel better -- someone look into how long crisis intervention really lasts - not going there now , not in mood , bit I vounteered with red cross , therapist , Katrina ..........disgusting thats it all i am saying now!

This is a good article. Thanks Octobermoon!

“The relative, who spoke with Ms. Bragg in recent days, also said that before the shooting, Mr. Dear reportedly “wasn’t sleeping at all,” and had “been talking about the Devil getting in his head and such.”

The relative said Ms. Bragg had been hospitalized since a week before Thanksgiving, with an infection and pancreatitis. Mr. Dear visited her every day until the day of the shooting.

“She says she can’t believe he was capable of such things, and I think that’s what’s upsetting her most,” the relative said about Ms. Bragg. “He believed he was doing God’s will, and I’m sure he probably wanted to die in the process of carrying out what I’m sure he thought was right.””

"Hours of Operation

Sunday, Nov. 29 - Thursday, Dec. 3
1 - 7:30 p.m.

Transportation

Yellow Cab is providing free rides to and from the Community Crisis Recovery Center for those who need it. Call Yellow Cab directly to arrange a ride: 719-777-7777. Just state that you are going to and from the crisis center (no other drop offs will be allowed)."

This is not a crock, in my opinion.
This is SPECIFIC.

The Free cab is SPECIFIC to this time period and place on North Nevada for:

"People who were in the immediate area at the time of the shooting and their families, area business owners and nearby residents who may need assistance recovering from the incident."

And I say it is WONDERFUL that there is a program like this for those who need it.

There is also a Crisis Recovery Line for more info on resources.

I am THANKFUL that YELLOW CAB is doing this for this specific time period, for this specific place.
It is better than not offering at all!!

I say the glass is half full, not half empty.

This is a way for info to reach people that need it.
Crisis intervention could last awhile, but the POINT IS, there is a FREE TAXI to those
who need it to get to the crisis center on Nevada Avenue during those days and times,
and at least they will have knowledge of what programs are offered, and get Some Help.

From Born post
Ms. Ross said Mr. Dear had a college degree. He spent a half-year enrolled at the University of Kentucky, and a year at the University of Louisville, according to officials at the two schools.

????

took a few fast-food management training jobs before landing a position at Santee Cooper, the South Carolina power company.

She met him at a shopping mall while she and a girlfriend were admiring a motorcycle on display.

he began to stray. In November 1986, he fathered another child, Andrew, with his first wife, Ms. Micheau said. Then in 1990, Mr. Dear had a child, Taylor, with the woman who would later become his third wife, Ms. Ross. The same year, he and Ms. Micheau had a baby together, Walker.

racked up debt, and would not help her pay the bills or help clean the house. She said he took trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, often losing large sums of money. She said he spent his money on a new motorcycle and on an “expensive gun.”

showed their total income as $15,526

unlawful carrying of a “long blade knife” and the illegal possession of a loaded gun.

Mr. Dear was arrested as a suspect in a rape case. But the state Law Enforcement Division, which offers criminal records checks to the public, has no record of Mr. Dear being convicted of such a crime, meaning it is likely that the case was dismissed.

Lets call in a week and see if anyone will take us -- therapy for this kind of event is not two sessions!

Who said it was for 2 sessions??
This is a crisis center where people can get information that can help them further.

ALSO:

"What can I get there?

Resources and Referrals
Information about the Criminal Justice System
Support understanding the trauma you experienced
Connections to others who were there."

There are many agencies listed providing support services.

I think this is a POSITIVE not a negative.

Thank you for the hugs.

I understand why the Killer is being sleuthed here on the thread. And that is all good.
My point was that at the time the second name was being released, it seemed to be glossed over on
the thread. I thought where is the compassion, empathy and sympathy? Now that we have a name and a face,
it was difficult for me to understand that condolences were not expressed. All the victims were parents with children.
Even if they weren't parents.. I would feel the same... but they were parents. Those poor children and all their families.
That was my point to that One Particular Post, the fact that posts were written about the Killer, but the victims were glossed over, in my opinion. It was in that One post that my emotions came out.
I have been on WS for several years. I understand the need to expound on the perp, but it seemed to me, rather uncaring not to have RIP or Prayers to the family, SOME acknowledgement, what have you, so forth and so on... That is my opinion. (There were a few posts that did acknowledge the victims, though) I cannot tell people what to post. That is against TOS. But something, anything at that moment, about the victims would have been appreciated, in my opinion. Instead, there is this and that post about the killer.
Anyway, I am moving on from this train of thought and post. The victims have been identified and posts are being made about them as well, not just about the Killer.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

IMOO.

You're so right -- there is a lot of hurting going on out there in Colorado and wherever other family and close friends & associates are who knew the victims. (I must say that I am glad the number of victims was only three -- I had thought during this thing that there would be many more...) No more emails, phone calls, birthday cards, special stories, etc., etc., to them or from them. "Next time" is gone. The light who was each of them still burns, but not where we can get to it.

Each of those who were lost was a hero to someone. SMH.

I think it's easy to become cynical with all that's hapoened. Bad things happen to good people. But good things happen, too, and I think the crisis intervention is step one. No, that specific visit may not do it but it can open a door to further support!

I certainly am not saying it is negative. I just have wondered, everytime an event happens they say that and I thought wonder if it last only through the news cycle ?

Who said it was for 2 sessions??

I wonder about the crisis counselors too. Grief is a process and PTSD doesn't always show up right away and sometimes people stay in denial for months, and some people are going to resist meeting with anyone. I think the counselors are a great thing, nothing against the practice, I just hope they're not there for two weeks and then never go back or follow up with the people involved.

"Shooting Victim Remembered As Compassionate, Big-Hearted Woman."

Oh, Treelights, I just can't hardly read these articles about these wonderful ones. Big-hearted. Leaves two children behind.

So many tears (mine included). Oh, just why?

(Please excuse the emotion, but it's just so much to think about. Go home tonight and kiss someone you love.)

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
