I have thought about matching clothes of BM/MM1/MM2. But then it occurred to me, that this time hopefully he won't get seen outside the court, holding hands with his girls. No exciting photos of a stylish family-crew? That's a real blow to his image, considering the magazines. MOO

I hope he EXPECTS to get out on bail.

I hope his expectations are dashed HARD.

If his freedom mattered so much to him, he could have had it, by allowing Suzanne to have hers.

You take a life, you get life. Life without parole + bonus years to repent.

It always amuses me when defendants scribble away during trials. Like they're back-up stenographers, you know, in case the court reporters aren't able to fulfill the duties. Runners up.

It's flaky. Busywork. To make them look important. Engaged. Junior attorney. As if.

I wonder what they write.

I imagine Barry's --

I will not chase chipmunks.
i will not chase chipmunks.
I will not chase chipmunks.
I will not chaser chipmunks.
I will not saw antlers.
I will not see antlers.

I will not Google hot Salida girls.

Hah!

Sadly, I suspect that any of the above would be beyond Blameless Barry. My guess would be half-recalled or wilfully misinterpreted scripture and something along the lines of his famous first words on the subject:

Oh, Suzanne! Look what you made me do...

Ol' BM better hope there ain't no deer, elk, mountain lions, chipmunks, clients or even reg'lar folks on that there jury...

Yeah. Speaking of Barry’s reasoning. If we went around killing all those who hurt us or those we “perceive” did us wrong, or those we feel are in the way of our own desires, there would be no one left alive.
That’s what forgiveness and moving on is all about. I see Barry as greedy.
Yes, greedy and totally Narcissistic IMO

There's been a couple of filings this week.

An Order for Authorization to Wear Civilian Clothing and for Modification of In-Courtroom Restraints. He can wear civilian clothing with hidden restraints.

Order Re Motion for Civilian Clothing.pdf

The more interesting filing is this "Victim Impact Statement" from David Moorman.

Here's the text of David Moorman's letter to Anne Kelly:

Subject: Victim Impact Statement - Barry Morphew(25CR000128)

Dear Ms. Kelly,

As the oldest sibling of Suzanne Moorman Morphew, I have prepared the following statement for you and the court. I have no financial requests from the district or the citizens or Saguache County currently. Please contact me with any questions you may have and thank you for your continued service in the matters involving my sister's case.

To Whom It May Concern,

I have laid awake many nights pondering the last few minutes of my sister Suzanne’s life.

Once struck by the BAM ladened dart it is hard to imagine the terror she felt as she tried to escape. With every pounding heartbeat, the chemical quickened its pace into her system just Like it had on so many deer her now psychopathic partner had shot. The screams, the tears, the pain were the outward expressions as her physical body began to separate from her spirit and soul. One trying to hang on to the earthly realm, while the other in quiet resignation came to grips with the “tipping point” that had been reached.

As the chemical did its work the physical struggle would soon end, and her heart stopped. The separation was now complete, allowing her spirit to rise above the morbid stage. Her conscious human presence on earth was over. As she contemplated the marriage to this monster, her thoughts migrated to a question she repeated innumerable times in her life; “what was I thinking?" As she gazed at the limp corpse, her former body, and the last testament to her earthly presence, she now understood her death was a symbolic culmination of her marriage. One where she was nothing but a "live trophy” for public display by a cunning predator much like the animal trophies he had displayed on the walls. Her legacy will hopefully help others, men and women, avoid the fate she has suffered with her marriage to a heartless narcissist.

As she watched her killer frantically work to cover a crime he would never escape, she grasped the freedom from captivity she had not felt but for a few fleeting moments over the last 25 years. This new status as a roaming spirit allowed her powers far beyond anything she imagined on earth. Powers that see the future with the ability to guide actions. And it would be with these powers she would enjoy the last word. Regardless of how long it took or where her remains would come to rest she resolved to keep calling from the wilderness and cleverly guide her killer to "the corner.”

Her plan was to turn his egotistical narcissism and gaslighting into his personal soul consuming prison for both this life and his next

Suzanne's spirit has guided all of us down a torturous path to this point. The stage setting has changed and changed again, which has tested both hope and patience. An arrest, the hope of a trial, a release “without prejudice”, the images of a “gloating” killer, and the heart-breaking manipulation of her daughters she loved so much. She has disgustingly watched the scheming jackal from her perch, all with the satisfaction of knowing she would have the last word.

Through the seasons of over 3 years, 1231 days, a core group of tireless investigators moved along a trail that would start in Chaffee and end just off Highway 17 in Saguache County. A fateful rendezvous on the morning of September 22,2023, with a dedicated public servant who rose that day having no idea of the part they would play in my sister’s saga. The scattered remains on a premeditated stage provided a reward for the thousands of hours of work done on her case. The amazing forensic work would be the final push to a finish line where a seated grand jury could render a 18t degree murder indictment

We have all finally arrived at the point where Suzanne can receive justice. For all those who knew and loved her this is a very bittersweet moment, as we would love to see her smile, hear her laugh, and enjoy her wonderfully accepting personality. But we now must march forward to finish the journey which should never have begun. All involved, whether family, friends, investigators, followers, or citizens of Chaffee and Saguache County have paid a staggering emotional price in this saga.

The accused are offered their day in court but on my sister's behalf I am requesting the following:

1. The interim release of Barry Morphew should under no circumstances be granted. I am sure the grand jurors who indicted him would agree. He is a flight risk and serial psychopathic controller of all in the realm of his influence. He needs to remain imprisoned through the entire legal proceedings till a verdict is read.

2. While death by hanging is deserved for the nature and the premeditated planning of this crime, I am requesting a life sentence with no chance of parole. If the truth were acknowledged, Barry Morphew is a soulless, sadistic, amoral predator that has hunted or used those around him his entire life. There is no redemption here. Anyone believing such are just foolish lambs awaiting his/her potential slaughter. He is born killer, nurtured by those who sanctioned my sister's death.

Thank you for your service and I look forward to the trial.

One sister stood as testament to Suzanne's fears for leaving her abusive marriage, as only someone who knew and loved her best could.

One brother organized an intense search and vowed to leave no stone unturned, as only someone who knew and loved her best could.

One brother faces the judge (by letter) to tell Suzanne's story, as only someone who knew and loved her best could.

Bittersweet and beautiful, all of it.

Megnut,
You have a way with words in saying what all of us want to express. I wish you could stand in court and give an impact statement on behalf of all of us. We cannot do anything to bring Suzanne back. But just knowing the monster who murdered her and destroyed her family and children would be sentenced to LWOP and have to listen to your words would give us great satisfaction.

I decided today that if I were the DA, I'd play ball. I'd take the WOP off the table if he'll plead guilty to the charges ('no contest' not acceptable), waive his right to appeal, and serve 40 years before he's eligible for parole.

No appeal holds great appeal.

He goes away, the dust settles, Suzanne's memory rises from the ashes, the court isn't clogged with an appeal and truth prevails.

But I'll happily settle for a clean trial, airtight against appeal, and the same 40 years, tacked onto LWOP.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

NARC BM would never agree to a mandatory 40 years with no appellate rights IMO. In his twisted, sick mind, Suzanne MADE him murder her..."Oh Suzanne..".

I think he'll always be so grossly arrogant and delusional to believe that he will be able to beat a conviction or that he be found guilty of a lesser charge. It's BM, he's special don't cha' know? 🤬

How I hope he would agree to such a thing, but the lying liar who lies doesn't give me any indication that he would. He only cares about himself, not even his own daughter IMO, and he isn't going to agree to sit in a jail cell for the rest of his natural life. He'd be 90's.

Suzanne already rose from the ashes and led LE right to her remains. :)

Nope. I want a full-on trial, degrading and humiliating this monster in front of his friends and family who supported him while he dragged Suzanne’s name and body through the mud. I want to see his face when a jury says guilty! He deserves worse.

I'd like to see a trial, conviction, and sentencing.

And then I'd like to see many of those whom BM and his attorneys subjected to the ridiculous civil suit sue for defamation or wrongful litigation and claw back ALL the assets BM transferred to other family members once he'd filed that ridiculous civil suit. And I'd like them to win.

I'm curious why this document is so heavily redacted?? I hope the judge does not reduce this bond. He needs to stay put.
There’s another motion about that. Talks about protecting privacy of daughters and other family members.

The judge granted it, hence the redactions. State response should come Monday

He absolutely does need to stay behind bars. He has had years of freedom he never should have had . I hope the judge stands firm.
