That was the Antler's Lodge, Valentine's Day. Nothing says love like 'disguise yourself'. But then, he probably signed in as Pepe Le Moore.

Maybe he lodged at all the lodges.

Thanks for catching that @Megnut and @Cindizzi, I don't like putting out wrong info. :)

It’s possible the hotel had just closed the pool and it smelled for quite sometime.

It’s also probable that if Barry had showered with bleach he would smell when he returned home Sunday night when he spoke with KE where Suzanne’s bike was found. Bleach is an extremely hard smell to get off your skin.
I have actually been in this hotel when the pool was in operation. The pool is fully enclosed. Walking past it, no chlorine smell is present. To me, it is extremely unlikely that the chorine smell in the room that Morphew used came from the pool.

Thanks for this. My husband and I are retired and travel a lot by car. We used to stay in the HIE hotels often and I had to make sure we were the farthest away from the pools. Yes they were enclosed but the smell is overwhelming, especially if you are sensitive to smells like I am. I guess some don’t notice but I think it was the male who worked for BM who said the smell was strong and I believe him. However, it was likely Clorox that BM used, although I think he likely put his clothes with any smell in the trash cans he used. So why the smell in the room? Washing tools maybe?

Agreed.

And for a long time, we thought he may have been bleaching tools, but actually he didn't bring the tools into the hotel until after he had The Call.

LE asked about coolers for a reason. IMO they have cctv with a cooler and cctv without one.

If he brought it into the hotel, they've got cctv. Could be something he bleached before dumping. Men's Wearhouse comes to mind.

Whatever the case, I think all those showers and all those wardrobe changes had to do with decontaminating.

However...

...there's no bleach that can bleach away what he did.

I can only hope it burned.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, colleague Jeff Puckett, 47, told how he had been taken aback by the strong chemical smell when he took the room over after being ordered to the area for work by Barry. The hotel has confirmed that they do not use chlorine to clean guest rooms and that the hotel pool was closed at the time of Morphew’s visit.
~snip

In an interview last week, Gentile, who has now relocated to South Dakota, confirmed the room stank of chlorine and added: 'I'm scared of Barry. I don't want to see him again, ever again.'

As CrimeOnline previously reported, two people who worked for Barry’s independent landscaping business told reporters that he called them to Broomfield, Colorado, on May 10, the day Suzanne was reported missing, to work a construction job as he had to return to his home in Maysville for a family emergency.

Both of those people said in separate interviews that the hotel room Morphew had rented at a Holiday Inn Express smelled strongly of chlorine, though a hotel manager told the Daily Mail that housekeeping does not use chlorine-based products to clean the room, and the pool was not open the weekend Barry Morphew stayed there.

Thanks @osu for bringing this forward. Was it JP who passed away?

Does bleach smell like chlorine? Both are awful to me. But I thought bleach is much stronger. Could BM have purchased chlorine from a pool and spa store and used it?
I cannot imagine bathing in that and then taking a nap in the same room as he did. There’s likely more to this than we will ever know.
Bottom line. Full Stop. Suzanne is dead and we know who murdered her.

The state's witness list has been filed. Keep in mind witness lists just say who might be called, not who will be called.
With the exception of George Davis and Morgan Gentile, and professionals, does anyone know who any of the individuals are? Or what MM1 could offer? I’m sure MM2 would be questioned about how she told her boyfriend her parents did not get along.
I hate BM would drag his girls into this.
That’s what narcissists do.

Don't you think, he had screamed in pain because of his fingernail scratch wounds from Suzanne, if he had showered with bleach? Wimp BM I can imagine as howling in the shower, if. ;)
I don’t think he showered in bleach. I think he cleaned something. That’s if he even knew how. Maybe blood on his clothes ?

Best of all, nice to see Jonny Grusing on the list.
When does the defense have to publish their list of witnesses?

Prepare yourself for doublespeak. I predict the defense is about to motion for all manner of delay while simultaneously hopping up and down with claims that his right to a speedy trial is impeded, never mind they're the impeders.

Bleaching his clothes to attempt to remove any evidence, then including them in some of those garbage dumps around town, maybe.

I don't recall how many stills came out of the surveillance cams around town, but I do recall he had on different clothes in at least 3 or 4 of those still images. If that's what he did, it explains why JP thought the room reeked of bleach and maybe explains why he changed his clothes several times in a single day at the motel, when he never even did any work in Broomfield.

Ever go to a bonfire, wake up and now you and your sheets smell like burnt oak? So you shower, carry on, only to realize you still smell like firepit?

Barry brought bleach into that room IMO. I think he'd done something overnight that he badly wanted not to be on him. So he poured chlorine on himself. Ruddy guy but I think he looked especially reddy in his body shots (as seen in the original arrest warrant), and every time he showered and dressed, he discovered he still smelled like a pool and spa store exploded. Showered again, pitched the clothes, lather, rinse, repeat.

Unless he had a cooler in that room, IMO he himself was the chlorine leak.

Seems like LE or his daughters would have noticed. Those smells don’t leave after a couple of hours.

I agree. I wonder if this is even an issue with the prosecution (I mean, how his room smelled).
If LE noticed the smell then it’s another matter, as they could testify to that.

I can only offer my experience as a traveller. Thanks for sharing yours!

I’m hoping we learn a lot more during trial. I do believe investigators have found more incriminating evidence. There are a lot of people on the witness list.
