Not a great start. This judge appears to be biased towards the Defendant, In my opinion only.

Yes, very disappointing, to say the least.

Should be interesting to see from where he gets the $300,000.

IF he gets it.

In my opinion, this is a very biased statement from the judge. I don't like it at all. Suzanne's side of the family were essentially ignored. Round One - won by the Defense.
"The two, what I would consider, most significant victims of this matter are strongly supportive of Mr. Morphew's innocence and are strongly supportive of his release, and I do take that very seriously. Your opinion matters a great deal to me," Hopkins said to the daughters, who appeared in court to support the lower bond request".

Webster himself would struggle to find words that adequately express how inappropriate it is for a judge to make a statement like this in open court to the family of a person charged with murder.

It's actually horrifying.

I do not understand how this dirtbag continues to get all the breaks in life. It feels like he has another biased judge who is going to give him breaks throughout the process because she feels sorry for his daughters or what?!? Feel sorry they lost their mom and hold him accountable. I truly can't believe he's going to get out on bail. I never thought he'd walk another day free in his life. I feel so bad for the Moormans.

It is my opinion that Barry might find it quite difficult to adhere to the bond requirements given he has continued to believe himself impervious to the law. I hope local LE keeps a close watch

I worry the court will hand out warnings like they're meaningless.

I love that DA Kelly made reference to the fact that Barry hadn't worked at all the past 6 months he was living in Arizona.

All of that professed "hardworking, successful businessman" crap we were fed from the Barry Stans is a load of codswallop.

He's a born loser.

To quote Suzanne, "What was the young me thinking?"

Poor Suzanne.

So much betrayal, on so many levels.

Horrifying is the correct word. Does this rise to judicial misconduct? The Gray line is becoming very blurry. My opinion only.

Nobody waived his right to a speedy trial... but the D put it out there, howzabouts next summer... as if they won't keep pushing it out.

Is he  ever going to be tried for the murder of his wife?

Oh, Judge.

Who is actually making sure that Barry follows these conditions of bond? The no drinking, no possessing firearms, etc.

There's evidence he tranquilized his wife and separated her from her feet.

If you've got money, it's no matter.

The bond deal stinks. He doesn't deserve to go home until trial.

I'm trying to find a sliver of a bright side. With the Libby and Abby case, the defendant RA garnered a ton of public and legal support due to (in some folks' minds) a perceived bias on the part of the judge against RA. Perhaps this new judge is taking a careful approach to avoid similar in the Morphew case.

With help from Barry's previous defense team playing fast and loose with facts, he managed to skate away before his case went to trial. Until now. Armed with far more evidence, and a better prosecution team, this time the case WILL get to a jury.

A jury will see through his charade.
There WILL be justice for Suzanne.

it's not complete Sweet Freedom.
And it never will be again.
He's going down.
Every, Day, Is. Hell. Looking. Over. Your. Shoulder.
Worked for him last time.

I suppose the less the Defense can object to, the better.

But aggravating none the less.

Bet the girls wrote the judge a letter.

Zillow values Buck Dr at $377k. A 90% LTV home equity loan or line of credit would cover it.

Sooo 🤔...

You recall the SNL Bouncybutts USC Trojan Cheerleader Duo
w/ Will Ferrell, et al.? Whether or no, maybe this might help:

"Who be the ones widah'jonque indah'bonque...
Ta' loan??
Ta' loan??

________

You see, I'm just trying to conjure all those creditors competing to bond-out the Barr,
greedy-eyeing their potential profits over the years and years of his post-acquittal repayment...

NAHT!

No witnesses but defense will make a statement. Both daughters present.
For the first 2 or 3 years, I understood the family dynamic. Mom had gone missing and Dad was likely telling them that Mom was cheating on their family and was probably off partying with her boyfriend, etc.

But now, 5 years later, her remains were recovered along with very incriminating evidence against Dad. I was really hoping they were now going to stand up for their Mother.
