IMO for a guy like BM, with the exception of a roughly four month stint in Chaffee County jail four years ago, an outdoorsman pretty much his whole life, used to freely roaming around, picking up and moving to wherever whenever he wants, manipulating and controlling others to his benefit, coming and going as he pleases etc………
The fact he is locked up behind bars in a tiny 6x8/48 square foot cell and from what I’ve read following cases and from someone I know that used to work as a jail CO, being told what to do and when, surveillance cameras watching, not being able to choose his meals, likely sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress, exposed to all sorts of noise and unpleasant smells, other inmates yelling and some likely getting sick from substance(s) withdrawal etc., imo probably feels like torture to someone like BM. To be clear, I do not feel bad for him, not one bit. IMO he deserves to stay there and be miserable.
Sure, wearing a GPS monitor and not being able to live in a state of his choice or leave residence any time he wants isn’t convenient or ideal, but he wouldn’t be confined to tiny 48 square foot space, can eat his own meals, have some peace and quiet time, open a window, have visitors come visit him at his/their own time, talk with his daughters’ and lawyers’ anytime he wants, wake up, shower, watch TV, use cellphone and other electronics, take naps, go to bed, do all of those things whenever he wants with no CO’s babysitting bossing him around or being surveilled 24/7.
IMO that all sounds better than being in jail putting up with all kinds of noise, adhering to strict schedules, following jail rules, restricted and limited visitation and/or call times with family and lawyers, no cell phone etc. I just cannot picture him being ok with staying locked up for close to a year possibly longer (if trial is delayed) thinking oh well, I’ll be acquitted anyways so may as well just stay put for time being.
I realize he may have no choice if he can’t manage to come up with the goods required so to speak to bond out but no, I don’t believe for a minute that he’s fine being in there while trial looms and BAM found in SM bone likely final nail in his coffin. I believe he absolutely knows deep down that being convicted is very strong possibility and end of his freedom forever.
As previously stated I expect to hear of his release on bond in the near future, could be wrong have been many times and really hope I am and he does not get out. Suffice to say I’d be pleasantly surprised, dare I say overjoyed if he has to stay put where imo he deserves to be and belongs-in a locked cage until trial, and hopefully at later date TBD- in prison for LWOP.
Tick Tock….
