What a sad missing person story. I'm afraid that Dylan's disappearance has something to do with his dad's new awardence of visitation. NOT meaning the dad is involved at all but meaning could Dylan have decided he would rather be with friends hanging out than his rarely seen dad? IMO

I know I'm not the only one here that is getting bad vibes from this case now, but I will step lightly to avoid offending anyone.

Too many things are just not adding up.

Dylan is described as a techie kid. My daughter and god daughter are techies.
If either was told she could not go to a friend's house or another activity, it would be plastered on the web, IM'd in mass and text to every person that she was going to see complete with angry icons. If they changed their minds about going somewhere, it would be plastered on the web, IM'd in mass and text to every person that she wasn't going and why complete with *shrug* or *eyeroll* icons.
Technology is an addiction for these types of kids.
If my daughter's or god daughter's cellphone went unused for more than 8 hours (sleeping time) it would only be because they didn't have access to it.


Does anyone know what the father's occupation is?
I may be way off base here, but isn't 4 hours of "errands" on a Monday morning a little strange? Were these errands work related? Wouldn't they be reported as "he went to work for four hours" if they were? What type of errands are done "after dark"?
Am I missing something here?

I'm sadly beginning to believe that something happened to this young man just after 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. Whether he left on his own, or something worse.

I say this on just about every case...

But I sure hope the home the missing person (Dylan in this case) should be investigated from top to bottom...

Not to incriminate parent... But to get vital info...

Looking for such innocuous... But potential clues... Such as..

Was bed used... Rumpled covers..

Were young man items laying around... Food wrappers, cups, socks on floor

Was his toothbrush wet/dry..( had it been used recently)

This is a new house for Dylan... He may have explored the house grounds... Was there evidence of him looking throughout the backyard... Footprints..

TV activity...

and then the not so innocuous clues...

Computer activity

Look in basement (if there is one) crawl spaces... Attics... Sheds...

the list goes on... And I am certainly no expert...

But the home and contents need to be investigated under a microscope!

From the above article: "Saturday's search included members of La Plata Search & Rescue, three search dogs, the La Plata Mounted Patrol, and a helicopter. The searches will resume Sunday."

No mention of cadaver dogs or a search of the home. It would be nice if LE would have a news conference. :twocents:

They previously shared custody, but in September she was granted full custody of Dylan. Why?

It could be something with the Dad, but to be perfectly honest, it could be the judge. Being born and raised in the area and having had my parents go through a divorce there, it's pretty well known down there that there were certain judges that when hearing custody cases, would immediately give the child to the mother, no matter what. Case in point being the huge fight that went on in my family - My mother was a semi abusive, alcoholic, pathological liar who had stolen, manipulated, etc...everyone around town knew what she was like, but when it came to the custody case of my brother and I, the judge who heard it was one that notoriously favored the mother in cases no matter what - he saw and heard all of that and still gave custody over to her. The only reason I ended up getting to stay with my Dad was because I was 13 at the time and had a legal right to "choose" and we fought it until I could stay with him. However my brother was younger and didn't get that right. This judge did this with SEVERAL families in the area.
I'm just saying....could be something to do with the Dad, but it is a small area things like above do go on. JMO.
It could also have simply been the fact Dylan was old enough they deemed him able to choose his main home and since mom was moving soon, he chose there? Just a thought.

How did these boys know that he hitchhiked? Did they see him doing this? If not, it may not be true.

Honestly, kids hitchhiking in the area still goes on. We *stupidly* did it as kids there when I was growing up, however 99% of the time you got picked up by a neighbor or someone you knew. There's still a very safe, small town mentality in this area. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of kids doing it still and that's how they know.
The only thing I don't get and that's worrisome to me is if he DID hitch into Bayfield, there's a very very good chance whomever picked him up, knew him, knew Of him, or got his name when they did pick him up. Why haven't they come around? Either it wasn't a good person or he never got a ride to begin with obviously.

If things went south so to speak and something bad happened. There's really no end to places to get rid of a body up there, especially depending on how bad you possibly wanted to hide it.

Exactly. Might be a sinister reason Dylan never made it to his friends on Sunday. Who was the last independent person to see him and when?

Is there any mention anywhere about the father aiding in the search?

I've been scouring articles and facebook pages looking for ANYTHING to indicate that he is helping search for his son, but all I find is "he didn't answer his phone" and "he didn't return calls".

I'm not trying to accuse the father of any wrong doing, I'm just more than a little confused about his response to his son's disappearance.

Why didn't he call mom asap on the chance she had heard from Dylan?
Did he at least attempt to call Dylan on his phone starting at 11:30am?

Still no news about searches of the home, vehicles, computer, dad's cell phone, etc. I hope that no news means that those investigations are going on and just not being reported to MSM.

I've been hugging my Dylan alot more than usual these past days. Each time I even see the name Dylan on facebook, MSM or here at WS, I just put myself in the shoes of another Dylan's mom.
