I'm trying to minimize some of the elements that don't make sense to me. I'm going to think outloud here so pardon me as I ramble on...
Did Dylan really get up at 7:30am (or in that general timeframe)? Assuming dad's story is accurate and he really saw Dylan around 7:30 (either in bed or up around the house), we can go on that being the last sighting of Dylan. I can accept that he would be up at that hour, it doesn't make sense to generalize all teens as likely to sleep in late. Maybe he was an early riser and couldn't wait to begin his days.
If the plans he allegedly made with his friends on Sunday for Monday morning at 6:30 were also legitimate (though this strikes me as an odd time for a playdate but odd isn't a reason to rule it out) then the waking up early is a non-issue. Who knows, maybe they were going to solidify plans that next morning, maybe the friend's parents were going to do the driving?
The phone issue is where there's trouble. As we discussed previously, perhaps the cell reception was poor or non-existant in dad's house. This could've led Dylan to walk outside looking for cell reception to call up his friends, but I can't reconcile him bringing his charger, fishing pole, and backpack. Even with no cell reception, his cell still could be powered on and the features accessible so he would've been able to get his friend's phone numbers and call them on dad's landline. And in early reports MSM said "attempts to reach dad's home phone failed as it rang and rang." Also knowing he had a charger, that rules out that his cell phone battery died.
--- > The cell had every reason to be charged, he should've had access to the cell phone, he DID have access to it as of 8pm Sunday night when it was last used, Dad last saw him (according to his word) at 7:30 am in the house... then Dylan and phone are never seen or heard from again. We've heard nothing of a breakin or abduction from the house itself. No attempted contact by Dylan using dad's house phone. I am okay with Dylan getting up early on Monday AM with intentions of meeting friends, which he seemed excited for. But instead he goes in the other direction alone fishing in the freezing cold?
I feel like I'm trying to make 2+2 = 10. Folks, it's not happening!
