IMO- it may be to discuss how Dylan liked his new situation- or didn't. His Dad said he stayed up very late the night he got there. Likely they talked about the move, new school, etc. Could have been the cost of travel, many other things. Also- probably Dad's first day off from work on a weekday. going to sit in the hot tub and hide now!

I am not sure that his Dad said that. There are quotes from a family friend that was saying that Dylan was tired and went right to sleep.

???? I am not sure which is correct. ???

I think the most interesting and edifying of all the guests was the family friend. Last name Hess. She said that when MR picked DR up from the airport they went to the grocery store and figured out what they were going to cook for Thanksgiving.
She also said that DR had make plans to meet his friends at 6:30 the next morning.
She said that DR had been up very late the night before and when they got home he was tired so they went to bed.
She said that DR's mom had primary custody and MR had holiday and certain visitation.
She said that everyone agreed that DR would not run off from his Dad's. She said that everyone in town knew DR.
It is a small town and it was not unusual to leave DR at home while MR ran errands.
NG asked her about the parents relationship and she would not comment on that saying she didn't really know how to answer that question. She said many times in divorce things aren't ideal.
She also said she had no idea what happened to DR no opinion, except to say she knows he would not have run off. FWIW I think I remembered it all.

Just to say these are not quotes by Ms.Hess but my paraphrasing from memory.

Thanks you for this.. This I've not heard yet(may have just missed it tho)..so, DR stayed up late THE NIGHT BEFORE HE FLEW TO DADS(ie still at moms)..he did not stay up late Sunday night at dads(as I thought before)..instead due to his being tired he flew in and immediately upon getting to dads went onto bed..

So, there was no stay up late with dad and have a late night talk between father and son on Sunday night?

Okay, I am confused again. Some people are posting that Dad said Dylan stayed up really really late and was too tired to wake up early the next morning to go to town.

Now this family friend said he was tired and went right to bed. If he went right to bed, then why couldn't he get up to go to his friends that morning?

I know the family friend said Dylan stayed up really late the night before he flew into Durango (Saturday night). I don't recall anyone (family friend, dad) saying what time specifically Dylan went to bed on Sunday night but that on Monday morning he was tired, too tired to go into Durango for errands.

But hearing that the boy was up until 4 am makes me even more worried that he never used his cell that night. I thought maybe he was tired from his trip and fell asleep early. But it is hard for me to imagine a 13 yr old on vacation, and in his old hometown, NOT texting someone at some point. The only thing that makes sense to me is if dad took the cell away from him.
You said he was up until 4 am- and that is what someone transcribed or newspaper quote...? or did he go to bed early? I don't know either anymore...

I'm not sure, now that I think of it, that dad has said he stayed up late Sunday....
I am also sick and have a fever, so I could be wrong

I've wondered about this exact same thing...not sleuthing minors, just saying that some of the shots of the vigil show boys laughing and obviously the boys may not understand the solemness of a vigil but also the fact that the kids were so quick in their interview to say

IDK... I just don't get it. I hope mom really knows what kind of kids these are and that they are telling the whole truth. JMO :sigh:

I agree. That sudden statement that they think he might have been' picked up and taken away." :what:

I thought that was weird for them to jump to that conclusion. When my friend's DD was missing, her friends assumed she was hiding out somewhere. Which she was. But they did not jump to the conclusion she was kidnapped and murdered. And these friends did not know she ran away. She did not tell but two close friends.

I have been very suspicious of dad, but now I am looking at the friends out of the corner of my eye too. It is possible that he did find his way to them that morning, and something went wrong.

Agree, friend said he was up late the night before - meaning Saturday -

Not sure about that, but there was the long drive from the airport and the time shopping. Guess they could of had the talk then. I am just stating what the family friend said on NG.

I read that in someone elses post. But I think they mixed up the fact he was up late the night before he flew to his dad's.

Here, sneeze into this envelope and send it to me. I could use a break from my snarky teens and my self-absorbed husband's expectations. The kids loved me back when they were little. Now my 16 year tells me she doesn't think of me as her mother, I'm just another person who happens to live in the same house. (sigh...) Hubby just tells me to stop making her mad. Yup, that's it. I'm not parenting, I'm just making my teenager mad.

I'll be watching my mailbox and preparing to inhale!:seeya:

Aw hugs for you TGI. I was devastated when my college freshman son did not want to come home for a visit because he "has a life now" … ugh!!
Like he did not have a life for 18 years before college?? huh?? :banghead:

Send me the envelope too!

C'mon, Dylan, call/text somebody....please, we want you to come home safe.

Hoping LE is getting some good leads.

You all have a good night!

Know what you guys are saying/feeling. I have to go to my kids' college to see them (1.5 hour drive one way) because when they do come home they are out with friends other family members....:banghead::banghead:

but I don't want the envelope - got nobody here to take care of me :floorlaugh:

night..

But he didn't use his phone after 8: how could that be?

No, that was sunday night he used the phone at 8.

Saturday night, back at Mom's, he stayed up really late. Then Sunday he flew to his dad's.

And apparently, went to sleep early that night. But still could not wake up at 7:30 to go into town.

I don't know what that means. I usually only see that in terms of future court cases. But I do not know how that would make sense here.

me too Katy... me too. I even hate to say it, but I have in round about ways for days. WTH is with those "friends"?
Disclaimer: I do not think the kids/friends HURT Dylan. I just think they might know more. that's all
