I would print em, but I printed off 75 Missing flyers and ran out of ink(trip to walmart in my future I believe).

Maybe you can ask Walmart to forward their surveillance footage to La Plata SO if they haven't already??

Are you familiar with the general area? I'm looking at a zoomed in map of the trip from the airport back to dad's house trying to examine the terrain, residential stretches, businesses, and overall route they would take. I don't see any tolls. I'm looking for intersections where there might be traffic cameras but most of the travelling is on those long windy CR's. Maybe from CO-172 turning right onto 160-E? I'm sure LE has checked all of these obvious spots for footage already. The route home is really quite desolate, I can imagine the potential for a long, quiet, awkward ride if both D & D weren't super excited for the trip. It further raises the question wouldn't Dylan be texting away furiously and silently to his friends so as to avoid awkward or unpleasant conversations, if that was the tone? Even if that wasn't the tone, he's still the tech-obsessed 13-year old boy excited to see his friends.

Great! So dad will be spending "most" of the day interacting with investigators? That's even better than talking to the press!

This is a good development.

Very good indeed :please:

How far do his friend(s) live from his dad's house?

This is very OT....and hope that its not inappropriate. If so, I apologize in advance. But sometimes these sad cases need some humorous relief! You guys, talking about house phones and rotary phones, made me think of something hubby and I often chuckle about.

When we lived in the mountains of NC, and someone died, everyone in the community believed in sending casseroles and flowers....casseroles to the grieving family and flowers to the funeral home. It never failed that we would see one arrangement that cracked us up! It was a wreath of flowers with a child's toy rotary phone nestled in it...with the receiver off the hook. In big letters, the ribbon across the wreath would read: JESUS CALLED
Oh my goodness, I would get so tickled I couldn't hold it in. My husband used to say, "Don't answer the phone Honey cause it might be Jesus calling and I'm not ready for you to go." LOL
I always wondered what they did with those little plastic rotary phones after the flowers died?
All I know is that if Jesus calls with those kind of phones, there would be a lot less people passing on. He needs to bump up to a smart phone. (I don't mean to be sacrilegious....but the Lord would probably think this is funny too)

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: That's hilarious!
I also believe He has a sense of humor!

And one more reason not to answer unknown calls. It could be a telemarketer, a politician or now Jesus. Do you think if he upgraded to an iPhone the FaceTime feature would work?

Everything that Dylan had with him is missing.

To help myself from being tunnel visioned... Because I have had a strong gut feeling from Day 1.....

Maybe Dylan had sets of clothes, undies, socks, jammie's, etc. kept at dad's house so he would not have to pack as much when he came to visit..

However... Boys grow so fast at that age, that I cannot see buying wardrobe when it would be outgrown so soon... Possibly even before the next visit...

and... Boys have very distinct favorites in clothing which can change at a whim... Or which they may not wish to leave behind... So that they can wear the faves at most lived at home...

Just thinking...

I am not sure if Mountain Lions have lairs, but they do have firm territories where they like feeding in certain places. They do sometimes hide their prey or drag it to a safer spot. I really, really, really cannot fathom that happening to Dylan though.

As for asking Walmart to send in camera footage, I don't usually visit this store(although have been in and out of it many times). I live outside of Farmington NM, but we travel into the Durango area often(childrens doctor is in durango). We shop in Durango at times. As for the route, if he didn't go into Durango then it would of been CR to his home and to the local store in Bayfield(which I am not sure he did that due to timing and due to the amount of things he would of need due to the holiday)...which is why I thought Walmart. Walmart would of been the closest store to him with alot of selection(the other stores are further into Durango). This being said can also help people see that from his home alone into Durango(if his lawyer was there, is a minimal 2 and half hours in drive time alone).
One of the things that has come to my mind threw out this is that MR use to work in our natural gas industires, and there for may have knowleadge of areas in the area where Dylan has been in the past with him....many in this area work in what is called the Oil field(also naturalgas is included often in this ). They have units all over these areas, some with little shacks to stay in....Wonder how many of these have been checked since he went missing.

Hmm, jumping off of this. There was a report that Dylan was wearing shorts when he disappeared and a lot thought that odd but what if you are right. We know he visited over Labor Day and shorts would have been appropriate then so maybe he left clothes there after that visit and that is what he was wearing.

There has to be a pic of Dylan somewhere that shows what he was wearing when he arrived. Airport? Grocery store? Why not release it and see if it might trigger a memory for someone?

I doubt he kept things at this father's if this was his first visit in some time; at least not anything that he really used or liked.

Dylan texted his mom soon after landing about 6-6:30 and that was her last (reported) contact with him. The last reported phone activity was approximately 8:00 and we have no idea if that was a text or call or who it was to.

Just a thought, dad may have clothes at his house for Dylan, so all he would need is a backpack of personal items, phone charger etc.... I believe that he would probably take with him. Maybe that is why dad didn't have any clothes for the dogs and he was still wearing what he wore the night before

Can LE confirm that it was DR that texted? Not pointing fingers, but a text could have been from anyone. No one has said indicated that they spoke to him (minus Dad).
