I hate it when LE says they won't be releasing info until "it is over" as so many of these cases are never over...if he is not found any time soon, I hope they will release info. It does not seem to help matters when LE remains tight-lipped forever. JMO

Dylan's prints should be in lots of places in the house.

Sorry if this has been gone over already.
When the friend said that their meeting was moved to the next morning, did he actually talk to Dylan, or was it a text. When I am at my most paranoid self, I make my kids actually call me so that I know it isn't someone else texting from their phone.

Thanks.

LE/media keep saying that the house was the last place DR was seen....but that's only been "confirmed/stated" by Dad. Is there any video from the store they went to? The last time anyone saw DR besides Dad....was getting on the airplane??

Assuming he actually got on the plane - and AFAIK we have no reason to suspect that he didn't - at minimum there had to have been flight attendants and other passengers who saw him. The last documented time such as on a video would sure be helpful, though.

Did Dad say he went to sleep right away? I missed that, I guess.

I am thinking IF Mom is involved, Dylan is okay, but if she is not, he probably isn't. JMO

The family friend who spoke on NG show told her version of what dad had told her about Sunday night. She said that Dad told her that after he picked Dylan up at the airport they went to the grocery store to get Thanksgiving supplies and then when they got home, Dylan was really tired from staying up late on Saturday night. So he went right to bed. Apparently.

I can easily believe he would be tired from his flight and lack of sleep, and he would go right to bed. But then it seems odd that after 11 hrs of sleep, he couldnt manage to wake up to see his friends the next morning. JMO

Citizens who have information that may aid in the search for Dylan are encouraged to leave a voicemail message on the Dylan Redwine Tip Line at 970-382-7511.

“If a citizen wants a return call from law enforcement, they must leave their contact information, but anonymous tips are acceptable as well,” said Bender.

This tip line is not a manned telephone number and it is not a way to get information about the search.

The Durango La Plata Crime Stoppers also has a cash reward for information leading to Dylan’s whereabouts.

I think he would have been reporting missing immediately IF he wasn't on the plane.....dad should have called mom and said, where the heck is Dylan....not calling her the next day, saying he is no where to be found...

I am not sure exactly what you are asking-dogs can track routes, but most dog handlers prefer certain scent items to do that. In Elizabeth and Lyric's case did they use a communal living room blanket that the entire family used? To me, that would be strange hearing how "picky" they can be in other cases to make sure the scent item is mostly imbued with the individual's scent and not everyone in a family.

I can't remember exactly what they used, I just remember that there was a video or an article that described the scent dogs sniffing family members to rule out their scents so the dogs could focus on the girls' smells. Just considering the possibility that the dogs can tell the diff even if on something used by more than one person. I get what you're saying though in that they would still need a reference sample. I just have a hard time considering the amount of time he was there, Dad had absolutely nothing.

I think he was referring to the return of search warrant which is a list of what is taken from the home:twocents:

Thanks. I hope that is the proper context. I really, really don't think Dad is responsible for *this*, whatever this is and darn it, I want to be right! TBH, I would suspect Mom before I suspect dad but I have no concerns that she is actually involved.

Just wondering about this myself Katydid !
Too tired to meet friends he hasn't seen in 2 or 3 months?
13 yr olds have ENDLESS energy.....so why so sleepy in the evening
on Sunday and again out like a light on Monday morning?
I misunderstood previously . I thought dad had said he actually
SPOKE to Dylan on monday morning and Dylan said ' i dont' wanna
get up yet' or something like that. But now it sounds like there was
no talking from Dylan.
So could he on his own or accidentally or at the hands of someone
else taken sedatives or something and perhaps too much / too strong?

I don't think we have gotten a clear answer to what happened monday morning at 7;30. He did say he 'saw' his son asleep, and he made noise to try to wake him up but he was 'out like a light.'

But I never saw it said that he actually TRIED to wake him up. My kids used to look like statues they would be in such a deep sleep at that age. I had to practically pour water on my son to get him up for school. You can't just make noise and expect a 13 yr old boy to jump up, imo.

Kevin Torres ‏@kevinltorres

I spoke with Dylan Redwine's father Mark a short time ago: http://www.9news.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=302104 …

also from article

"The Sheriff's Office is not calling Mark Redwine a suspect," Dan Bender, La Plata County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer, said. "However, since that house was the last place Dylan was seen, it is only prudent to do a more thorough search of that house and property for any information that can help direct us to Dylan."

Investigators searched Mark's home initially last week. Thursday's search was considered more thorough.

BBM

so now they are searching for specific things...as outlined in the search warrant

I do not like this....my heart is pounding

you are describing scent discrimination dogs (I have not heard this type being used here)

Its more of a judicial/court thing than LE wanting to stay tight lipped. It bugs the heck out of me too, but I'm in the last of my CSI course work and my current professor is a CST (crime scene tech) for the LAPD and while she mention cases she has worked on, she can only give us details on her cases that have went to trial and ended.

this is a search with warrant (see article I just posted) and will have probable cause and specific things they are 'looking for' if you will.

I am positive :twocents: they have searched the home before... but not under warrant.

The article above states that they have the csi van on site.

The probable cause was stated. It's because it's the last place he was seen, and that is fairly common with LE. Even if they have no reason to suspect the dad yet, they can still get a warrant because he was last seen there and they have to have a starting point. They may not even have to give specifics of what they're looking for, just general, i.e., signs of possible foul play.

I do agree, lishac, that it feels like there should have been something. I just don't think some of the examples people are throwing out make sense. I don't think most dog handlers would want an item that the person might have touched once.
I am more confused that it appears nothing he had was there-like, a sock? A shoe? He didn't unpack anything?

What last remark? I didn't see any quotes from dad in the link you posted.

Did the link change? Prolly my error. Dad wanting to get along with Mom thru this. Words to that effect. Pardon my laziness but cough med is making me drowsy.

Dylan texted his mother, Elaine Redwine, when he arrived at Durango-La Plata County Airport on Nov. 18. The lad immediately contacted friends in Bayfield where he attended school until this summer when his mother, who divorced Mark Redwine in 2007, moved to Colorado Springs.

======================================

All I could find was this saying that he 'immediately contacted friends' when he arrived. So since she did not say he called or he talked, maybe he texted. I think most 13 yr olds prefer texting.
