That isn't what I am responding to. I'm responding to the idea that it's odd that the dad would notice/mention/report a missing fishing pole.

I am Implying that the finding of the fishing pole may have led to the checking of DR'a fishing pole, and not vice versa.

I won't speculate on where the fishing pole is or why it's missing because I have no idea. Without a baseline of what is normal for this child and family, anything is possible at this point.

The implying that the fishing pole was found by LE and this led to dad discovering a fishing pole is missing from the home is all fine and well..but its dad's own words that indicate much the opposite..

in what IMO appeared to be frustration at a delayed search of the lake the dad says to the media that he believes the lake where the pole was found should have already long since been searched DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE TOLD LE THAT IT WAS LIKELY DYLAN HAD HIS FISHING POLE AS IT WAS MISSING FROM THE HOME..

So, IMO its the fathers very own statements that lead one to believe that the missing pole was discovered PRIOR TO THE BROKEN FISHING POLE BEING FOUND BY LE as theorized in the above post..

All jmo.

If there's any weight in the postal worker's potential sighting of Dylan, who she apparently knows, any chance she remembers what color the hooded sweatshirts either of the boys were wearing? I haven't seen that in any articles, the only description has been that they both had black backpacks and Dylan's backpack per mom was black. LE could be withholding this info or she may not remember... further there's a possibility if that was Dylan he could've been wearing a borrowed hoodie of whoever he was with but it would be super useful if mom could confirm the color with postal worker's account.

Also early on I remember reading one of the reported sightings of Dylan was before that person knew he was missing, but I can't remember which sighting or any other details so treat it as rumor /unconfirmed until/unless I can find a link.

Also, just a day or two ago, LE was still asking for those two boys to come forward. I find that really odd. If they are local, they would surely come forward. Maybe they are tourists and don't know anyone is looking for them though.

I am with you on this scenario. But I wonder how many people would be around to see him if he took off walking with his backpack that morning. There is apparently one road only that leads out of that area. So why didn't anyone see him walking or hitching that day?

That is what I don't understand. It is a very small community and everyone knows evryone else. So why hasnt anyone reported seeing him walking to town?

a thought....perhaps the first person to see Dylan was the person to pick him up = abduction? :what::what:

I agree with you. And with a kid that age, he might sleep until noon or after, especially if he'd been awake into the wee hours video gaming. Dad may well have thought son would still be sacked out in bed when he got home. In any case, son is old enough to call Dad when he wakes up and see wassup. :)

But we have since found out that Dylan actually went to bed between 8 and 9 pm. He went to bed early, according to what Dad told a family friend. [ per NG show transcript]

It was Saturday night that Dylan stayed up late. Dylan had 11 hrs of sleep on Sunday night, so I still wonder why Dad didnt try to get him up for the ride to town.

Yes, that would have to be the scenario. I guess it is possible. It has happened too many times before. :rose:

Is Kevin Torres reporting on 9news at 6MT (9ET)? I have the livestream but it's just the shot of the city traffic.

You're right. I will go hunt the link from my posts in the media thread but Dad said something along the lines of "they have known it was missing since day 1".

Sorry. Thank you for the lake map. I meant more specifically all of the locations connected to the case on 1 map (Dad's house, where the mail lady might have seen him, the lake, etc.)

Time to find Otto.... going now!

Yeah... I guess that's one of my many concerns though, is how the requests from LE are coming out... And I really don't want to get on their case because I believe they're doing a solid job and a whole lot more than we're aware of...Also I'm inclined to believe the way they're handling this case specifically is calculated vs how other cases are handled... but the information coming out is so muddled and contradictory and hard to follow.

IMO and MOO I really think holding at least one press conference and addressing the public directly, asking for individuals to come forward with whatever information LE is seeking (the 2 boys, video footage, photographs, specifically between 6pm Sunday and 12noon Monday, etc) would be very, very beneficial to the case. Let the media replay that clip over and over, put it in print verbatim, circulate that as often and widespread as possible... instead of all this junk we're dealing with. Give people the visual, the cold hard facts and requests directly from LE standing there unfiltered.. none of this burying their requests for leads in the third paragraph of a report.

Let the public know that there's a reward. Remind the public of the phone numbers they can call in tips. Put as much out there as they possibly can, safely, that is relevant to the timeline and finding Dylan. I just think they need to take control and get in front of this... I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting, I just feel things are lagging a bit and maybe there's a good reason but :banghead: that's all.

Oh but he did. .... and went on to seem a bit frustrated that they didn't go to the lake the first day because he told them the pole was missing...

I think LE's dance with the press is 100% strategic. Moo.

I do too and I don't like what that likely means.

Can you elaborate? If you don't mind. I think it's strategic too, I have a few ideas why but mainly I can't imagine this strategy being due to lack of capability. Especially with the FBI and other agencies involved. Any key reasons you think they're operating this way? TIA

Suspect(s)/POI's in mind? Preserving future integity of legal processes?
