If I took either of my teens to walmart, I promise you they would be able to get a couple bored out of my mind shots as well. He's not distraught, he just looks like a kid looking around and passing time to me.

I suspect they specifically chose an image that didn't have dad or anyone in it, since Dylan is the one missing.

We know they did a poly on ER, and we all can safely assume she wasn't involved, but they never said officially that she was cleared, right? I don't think this team is doing that.

I suspect that you can't really clear someone unless they have a rock solid alibi, anyhow. Even if they prove Dylan made it to dad's, and prove he was on the computer until 2:00 (HYPOTHETICAL!) then it would still leave 2-8 unaccounted for, and thus they still couldn't really clear dad.

IOW, I wouldn't count on hearing he is cleared unless they come together with a very clear suspect aside from him.

No they will not release the results on anyone who took a poly not even if they passed with flying colors.

I dont see anything abnormal about the snip from the video at Walmart. He didnt pay attention to the cameras and was just going about his way. He sure wouldnt be smiling like a cheshire when he was just walking along. I saw nothing sinister about the photos at all. Very typical kid that I always see at Walmart when I go.

Exactly, they would want a still photo that just shows Dylan.

Personally I think its going to be like countless other cases where no one is cleared until a suspect is caught. I dont even think they are even going to come out and specifically rule out Elaine by name even though by now they now she wasnt involved, imo. In a lot of jurisdictions it is just SOP to rule no one out until the case is solved.

They probably have the phone records by now that shows the time that MR was trying to text Dylan when he got home and found him gone. They have also interviewed other people and some may have said that Mark came over at a certain time to see if Dylan was there or had been there.

IMO

phone records only prove that texts or calls have been attempted, like say Gerard Baden-Clay texting his wife Allison asking if she had slept well and where she was.

I think Dylan was truly upset that he wasn't going to his friends' house on Sunday night. I believe this was his expectation....and we all know how we get when our expectations aren't fulfilled. He was most excited about seeing his buddies. Now if we can just figure out what kept him from getting there....

Bumping this and bolding this part again:
The Task Force is still requesting any recreational video footage or photographs that include vehicles traveling on any routes between Durango and Vallecito Lake, taken between 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18 through noon on Monday November 19.

Sounds to me like they are still looking into activities Sunday night.

and monday until the Father noticed him missing (not the time when he went to the police department either... the time the Father noticed him missing)

......and want to look at vehicles (not any specific vehicle) traveling the routes to and from.

In the case of the missing Iowa Cousins investigators have said they believe the abductor is on video but they need more info/tips/leads to know what vehicle they are looking for. They may well want to look at every vehicle coming and going to check them out.:twocents:

They could be looking for video footage of MR's vehicle.

Found this:

11/21/12
La Plata County officials search for 13-year-old Dylan Redwine who's been missing since Monday

Members of La Plata County Search & Rescue team using bloodhounds searched for the teen Monday night and Tuesday. The search area included the shoreline around Vallecito Lake, several small subdivisions, county roads, steep wooded hillsides and hiking trails. Many of the homes in the area are seasonal while some are occupied year around.

I wonder if they tried to track him from dads house to see if he left o. Foot and what direction he was going

Just because MR was texting Dylan means nothing. It also means little if MR went looking for Dylan on Monday afternoon. Neither situation verifies that Dylan was safe prior to MR's Monday morning errands.

I think it does mean something. It will show where he was located when texting Dylan.

I disagree, everything means something to LE. If not LE would have never interviewed people that MR spoke with when trying to locate Dylan. Just because we dont have the exact timeline of when everything transpired after he returned home never means LE doesnt know.

I never said it verified that Dylan was safe but it does verify what MR has told LE and they always look for inconsistentcies and IMO they have found none.

It would be next to impossible for anyone to prove someone was in their home at a certain time unless a Peeping Tom happened to come by and peer in the window and was willing to fess up to LE. Or if they had company come by after 8. Many families are just watching tv around 8 on a Sunday night inside their own homes.

I know I wouldnt be able to prove my hubby was here safe and sound at any particular time nor he me if no one saw us inside our home or called us on our landline the night we arrived back home.

if I recall correctly its about a 1 hour flight, hardly a long or tiring trip

I agree. Dylan's flight(s) left around 6 pm so even though his first flight was rescheduled for the following day, he didn't loose any sleep over it.

He could get up whenever he wanted on Saturday and Sunday so he shouldn't have been exhausted from travelling imo. :waitasec:

They could be looking for video footage of MR's vehicle.

he lives in a remote location. I would want/expect them to confirm his story.

Then why don't they ask for videos starting Monday morning?
That doesn't add up.

I think it does add up. They are wanting to retrace his steps. In the videos they can see if anyone was paying close attention to Dylan as he walked through Walmart or if any vehicle left the parking lot when they did and followed them.

It would/could verify MR's location...and I never said anything about LE wanting/not wanting that information. I was merely stating that even if MR was covering up anything, he would have made some effort to text, call or find Dylan. I think he is intelligent enough to have come to that conclusion.

Why do we have nothing said in this case about Cell pings?
Dylans or Dads.

We do know dylans went off the radar ar 8 pm sunday but what about dads?

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet, but I'm not quite grasping what LE is doing here. It seems to me that the requests for video are for the purpose of ruling people in or out and maybe looking for suspicious vehicles, but they are not looking for Dylan on foot? If they were looking for Dylan on foot, hitchhiking or whatever, I'd think they'd want video for the entire day, not just until noon, kwim?

No matter what, Dylan is unaccounted for during a 12 hour gap of time from approximately 8 p.m. Sunday evening to 8 a.m. Monday morning.
MR's activities Monday morning have been confirmed, but nothing else has been verified.
Until last night we didn't even know if Dylan actually made it to Walmart, but LE has probably had it for some time and just now decided to release it. Crossing my fingers they know more than they've released and have verified even more. I don't really care who done it, as long as they can get the clues they need to find and prosecute.
That is another thing I always question when children go missing. Nine times out of ten LE never comes out and warns the public. They never did in Jessica Lunsford, Van Dam, Smart, Greone cases either and all along the predators were running loose.

Maybe they think that it is just commonsense that parents will be more protective of their children when they know a child is missing. The only case I can remember recently that they did warn the community was in Jessica Ridgeway's case.

IMO
I've often wondered if, statistically speaking, other children aren't safer directly following a local kidnapping. I don't know that there is data to support it often happening in quick succession. I hope this doesn't sound off-putting... I just mean to say that the odds of a stranger abduction is low as it is. Couple that with a stranger abduction happening nearby, it seems like the likelyhood of two stranger abductions in one locale would be less than a new stranger abduction in a new locale. Am I making any sense? I didn't sleep last night :waitasec:

I could be wrong, but if statistics say a 2nd assault in quick succession is unlikely, it could explain why LE generally doesn't tell everyone be extra careful.

If there is only one tower covering a large area, all cell phones will be pinging off that tower. Doesn't provide useful information of where the person was, since the area is large.

LE is looking at the time frame of 8pm Sunday night (when Dylan's phone shut off) and 12pm Monday morning (when Dad reports he got home and Dylan was gone) which is when Dylan most likely disappeared. I think LE is looking for several possibilities when they ask for video's/photo's showing the road from Durango to Vallecito and Vallecito back to Durango or Bayfield. They want to see if Dad's truck is spotted going back home when he said they did. They want to see if Dylan was indeed in the truck. They want to see if Dad left sometime from 8pm Sunday night to 7:30am Monday morning. They want to see if there are possible sightings of Dylan walking or Dylan in another vehicle or a suspicious vehicle or a friend or MR's vehicle. I don't think they are looking for just one thing as many think. I think they are looking at many possibilities.

Dont ya think its odd?
Every case we read on here has cell pings as very important parts to these investigations. thats usually where the searches begin and sometimes end.
