It would be wonderful if we knew if he changed shirts that morning, because that would mean we have a sighting!!!!
Sadly, unless LE is holding something back, Dad said Dylan was still asleep when he left that morning, so I don't see how anyone can know for sure what he was wearing.

Could have been the missing shirt? If it's distinctive and Dad noticed it missing, it's not unreasonable to assume that must have been what he was wearing last.

Well I did not see the message at the top...nothing new....put skimming that appears to be .....I, as many of you, are on overloard..with the discovery of the 2 bodies that we are pretty sure belong to Lyric and Elizabeth and totally OT but we have another missing young man in our town ...but because he is an adult cannot get LE to do anything and parents are beside themselves so trying to help them... and watching or listening to every minute of DeeDee Moore's trial..so I am not going to read all of the posts on here but I am still hurting and praying for Dylan!!

SBM

:what:

It must depend on the POV, because I certainly wouldn't categorize any of that as her "Right out the gate" "accus[ing] him of doing something to the kid."

The "bombshell" moment the press and some had related to the ABC article which was quoted and cited extensively, IMO.

You snipped out (without saying you did that) all that I used to back up another POV. So be it. :seeya:

SBM stands for Snipped By Me.

But presumably Dad reported he went missing in the Nike shirt that everyone has thought he was in all along. Both shirts must be missing for Dad to have thought he was wearing the Nike one.

I guess it depends on the point of view:MOO

Dylan was picked up Sunday by his father at Durango-La Plata County Airport, his mother said Friday. Dylan announced his arrival in a text message and ended it with the emoticon that is interpreted as a scowl, she said.

She declined to talk about her former spouse except to say he rarely exercised his visitation rights.

The last time Dylan visited Vallecito from Colorado Springs, where she moved this summer, was on Labor Day weekend, Redwine said.

Dylan was happy in Colorado Springs, where he began eighth grade in August, she said. He had many friends and hung out at Skate City, a roller skating rink.
--------------
ETA: She said plenty here even though "she declined to talk about her former spouse"
RE: UBM: She much later said he worked out of town and explained that, but here ... she said what she said.
BBM:
The past tense is pointed out as we did/do with the dad's remarks.

There are very few direct quotes by ER in that article. Most of it appears to be the reporter's interpretation/paraphrasing of the interview.

And in hindsight this is a big deal, but it is not unusual to not notice what your kid is wearing. Especially exactly what kind of shirt it is. There are so many with logos on them and I doubt dad is familiar with all of them. jmo

Does anyone actually *know* what this "interpreted as a scowl" emoticon is? I know what a scowl is but I have no idea how I'd type it using text characters, and if I saw it, danged if I know how I'd know it was supposed to be a scowl.

Bumping. This may help, Salem.

Notice the "may have been wearing". When you do multiple quotes it doesn't appear in the next "quote". Main reason I never use that function.
Authorities also released an updated description of the clothing Dylan may have been wearing Nov. 19 when he was reported missing.

I have a question: Mr. Redwine is quoted as saying that he came home and the TV was on and a cereal bowl was by the sink.

Was the door locked?

Did he lock the door behind him when he left Dylan sleeping?

I'm asking because I read somewhere that it was the kind of place where people left their door unlocked, and I'm just wondering if it's been mentioned.

Thanks.

Not that Dad didn't notice, it's that he couldn't have known what shirt Dylan put on that morning. Dad was already gone on his errands by the time Dylan woke up. MR could only have known what shirt Dylan was wearing when he was asleep.

He could have taken off the shirt he was sleeping in, put a fresh one on, and then stuffed the dirty shirt back into his backpack. My son has done that many times when we are out of town. DRIVES ME NUTS! lol

I have, I think, some new questions or such.

LE is asking for video/camera recordings/pictures from about the time Dylan arrived to the time dad arrived back to Vallecito. There is only one way in and one way out of Vallecito.
I'm thinking the 730 am -1130 am tapes are important especially any tape shot from around the lake area. I think LE wants the video recordings to totally verify dad's story from the time he picked Dylan up at the airport to the time he arrived back home.

In order to look at everything, don't you think the accounting of the activities of the last person to see someone missing is most important. This is the only way dad can be ruled out.....or otherwise....

And who knows what else LE will find on the tapes....so I kinda' understand LE being quite, even though I want all the information they have...

I agree with Marc Klaas who told NG "I think that the father has to be a lot more forthcoming if we`re going to have a chance of finding Dylan."

snipped

MARC KLAAS, KLAAS KIDS FOUNDATION (via telephone): Well, first of all, Nancy, people are pointing a lot of fingers at the father because he was the last person to see Dylan alive, also because law enforcement is not treating this like a runaway, by any means, not if they`re taking cadaver dogs into lakes, not if they`re running multi-jurisdictional searches.

And also, the father is being very mean towards the mother and the brother. He`s not contacting them. He`s not providing any information to them. He`s a reluctant witness, as far as the media goes.

So I can understand why people would point fingers at this guy. And I think that he has to be a lot more forthcoming if we`re going to have a chance of finding Dylan.

I don`t believe this little boy ran away. His cell phone, apparently, was turned off immediately, which was out of character. So nothing is adding up in this case.

Why is it so important to know what shirt he was wearing? I mean in 'the big picture' sort of way?? Does it even matter? Just askin' Am I missing something important here? I'm sure people would recognize him regardless. KWIM?
I think I should go.. Come find me in the parkinglot if something happens. tia

Sadly, unless LE is holding something back, Dad said Dylan was still asleep when he left that morning, so I don't see how anyone can know for sure what he was wearing.

I don't think it would mean a sighting, per se, but, it would help us with the timeline, not to mention the missing posters should be as correct as possible.

If Dylan only packed a few pieces of clothing and one of the items was the Nike t-shirt and when Dad got home, Dad found the t-shirt from the night before still on the couch, we would know that Dylan changed his shirt that morning before heading out.

LE would know this and they should let us know, especially so that the posters are correct. I'm not sure how to interpret their silence on the subject? Either the Nike shirt listed on the posters is correct and so LE is not going to tell us they found the shirt from the night before or the info is incorrect and it is unlikely that Dylan is wearing the Nike shirt and LE is just going to let the missing posters be wrong.

I wish LE would just tell us - missing posters are right OR missing posters need to be fixed.

We all know and have read about the "scowl" smiley (which she didn't mention in the NG interview on 12/4 BTW). That is a direct quote from ER and the rest has been said, as direct quotes, later. This was sooner than 11/26 as was stated IMO. AGAIN ... each to their own POV which I also stated.

Please refer back to page 1 of this MP case for more, much more. Again IMO.

[The father]'s not contacting [the mother and brother.]

Klaas is wrong.

http://www.gazette.com/articles/dylan-148038-son-redwine.html

While Mark Redwine hasn’t spoken to his ex-wife, they traded a few text messages Friday, he said.

He has also met with his other son with Elaine Redwine, Cory, 21, and a son from another marriage, Nicholas, 28, from Arizona.

“We all met together in a private room and sat down and talked. I haven’t heard from Cory for three days,” Mark Redwine said. “I think he’s struggling like we all are. I know he’s closer to his brother and to his mom than to me. We were trying to get our emotions out on the table and focus on finding Dylan.”

Not to belabour the point.... but.... Dylan packed light, everthing was in his backpack. The info about the Nike shirt MAY (speculating here) have come from Mom and not from Dad. If Dylan only packed a clean shirt (Nike shirt), clean shorts, clean socks & underwear and his personal items and Mom knew what he packed, then when the Walmart shirt was found on the couch (that's me speculating), Mom would have known he was wearing the Nike shirt - because (speculating again) it was the only other shirt he had......

Just speculating - but wasn't it mom's friend that help put the poster together?

It seems to me LE has reported the NIKE shirt as what he was seen last wearing....because that is the last confirmed video/sighting they have. I doubt MR would know what he is wearing so they are going by what was last seen for sure on tape.

It was a scowling emoticon...so that is texting with the smilies. It was a scowling emoticon and we haven't been shown what it looks like.
