Leaving here shortly with a group from Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Tesuque, etc. to head to Vallecito. We are all accomplished hikers/mountain bikers with our own equipment/food/water in tow. The weather is going to turn on/about late Saturday/Sunday with first snow coming.

I'll take all your thoughts and prayers with me. Peace.

Praying for you, your friends, and all the searchers tomorrow. But most of all, praying for Dylan.

:please:

It's sad that Dylan and even Cody had to experience that kind of drama. I have an alcoholic, drug abusing mother who, after getting divorced from my father found herself a sicko child abuser. Its hard on kids growing up with dysfunction and I'm just so sad for Dylan. I am sick thinking about those last moments... what on earth did he go through?

That is like my bio mom to. She lost parental rights by the time I was 5, so I don't remember it too well. But what I do remember was pretty awful.

I really torment myself with those thoughts of the last moments too :( :furious: It makes me loose all consideration for the level of humans who would do these things.

Maybe... I checked and the two states I have spent most of my life living in don't have "menacing" as a crime. I'm guessing they call it something else.

I just googled menacing as a crime for my current state, and I found a women's law site that includes it as part of their domestic violence crime info.

I don't care if the charges were dismissed or not. He still admittedly had public sex, right OUTSIDE his family home, with his sons inside, able to see him. That is what I find disturbing. I don't really care if the charges stuck or not or if they were divorced or married. He was still acting like a drunken fool and hurt and humiliated his sons very much. I think it shows his volatility and his very poor decision making skills. JMO

How many women are going to agree to have sex on the lawn in full view of the man's children and ex-wife and anyone else who happens to be around? Think about it. He didn't deny he did it, but unless the woman was a paid companion I'm having a hard time figuring out what grown woman would have been his willing partner...out there on the lawn. How did he manage to get the woman to do it?

Yup, that disturbs me. At no point in my life would I have ever agreed to do that, and I can't think of anyone I've ever known who would consent to doing it.

Maybe a woman who is as mean and drunk as the man....that's all I could come up with.

Was she willing?

I see that I'm way behind again. I went to visit my mom and came home with a lil redheaded niece that insists on spending the night. Girls terrify me so I'm afraid to take my eyes off of her and darn it I can't stay caught up that way.

Where are you Dylan?

Yes it is, which is why I find it hard to believe that the woman was willing. I am saying that we don't know how he got her to do it. Stuff like that happens and women can be too embarrassed to speak up, they just want it to go away...who wouldn't?

How many people had ever heard that there is a crime called "menacing" before this thread? I hadn't.

I know all about menacing. I had a man calling me up threatening my life. I also know it's not a charge that they just slap on you for chits and giggles. I couldn't get him charged because he didn't threaten me with an actual weapon.

I had. It gets charged fairly often in Colorado. Do other states have a similar charge? In Colorado it is currently described as:
<SNIP>.
I only know of a couple states who call it menacing. From what I've read, it's often associated with stalking and means that the suspect has done something to cause the victim to fear for his/her physical or mental safety. It actually sounds like it's about the same thing as simple or 5th degree assault here; which basically just means causing someone to be afraid. Fifth degree is usually when it involves a domestic situation. I'd say he probably didn't have a weapon from what the law there reads or they probably wouldn't have dismissed the charges. MOO

Was she willing?

Now that's a good question. Also I read that she was a friend of ER.
Both predicaments seem so uncomfortable to me!

I've actually known quite a few women over the years who would probably be more than willing, and some of them don't even drink or use drugs.
