I am talking in context of scenarios suggested by some, such as phone was broken, phone got tossed out the window, etc. Why would you text if you know the phone is not working, or the phone and the child are separated?

To cover your tracks, I should think.

Yes, he has friends in the area. There is no way that you can say he has not contacted them and be aiding in his quest by them. A teen his age may feel that his Mom hurt him by removing him from the area where he wanted to stay.

I am not sure that is correct. Dylan moved away from a very small, rural community to a larger, more suburban neighborhood. Lots of kids his age would be thrilled to move to a larger, more upscale school. They like to have a larger choice of friends and potential girlfriends and be where things are 'more happening.' I bet Dylan was thrilled about the move. JMO

I really think they found no evidence at his father's home.

If they had found a cadaver scent in the home they wouldnt still be considering the possiblity that Dylan was abducted, imo.

IMO

I dont think they found evidence either!

Because as i see it he was never there!

MR claims he was texting Dylan on Monday. So, if one believes what MR says, MR had to think Dylan's phone was in perfect working order.

OR, MR knew it was not in working order, but he didnt want anyone else to know that he knew that. So he had to keep texting the cell so he could look like he was innocently looking for his son.

The one thing i will never ever understand is that you can kill somebody in a quick fit of rage , ok it happens but its a mistake and its beyond vile but at least own up to that mistake as it was ultimately a mistake .

But then how can you sit down and plan to cover it up and lie and deceive everybody .

This is in general to crimes when its a loved one that has done the act!

one might text anyway, so that if LE looked at their cell history, they would look innocent.

But what can they do ?

It seems that he has disappeared off the face of the planet and there is not any evidence of what has happened.

What good would a press conference do if they don't have any clues or leads ?

I'll bet they do
We just don't know it yet

We don't know if LE has any concerns about MR. If so they haven't indicated this publicly.

Paul, I'm not trying to pick on you -- honest. But....

They gave the man a lie detector test

They searched his house

They came back and searched in again, with a search warrant

The search warrant was broad enough to include towing away two
vehicles (I'm _still_ asking whether or not they've been returned)

They had an extended interview with him around the same time as the search
(I can't remember the term that was used - "intensive"? - something like that)

Not that any of these are things that _shouldn't_ be done, given that Mr. Redwine was Dylan's caretaker and last person to see him alive; I just think (IMO, MMO, etc., etc.) that they have a few concerns about him.

*not sure if this is allowed - Mod pls delete if in violation*

Can I get a show of hands... does anyone still believe that Dylan is alive?

I think if Dylan left the house he would have sent Dad a text.
According to Dad dylan knew he would be home around 11 30 to get him so why leave and if he did he would have told him.

like
Dad so and so came to get me and i left with them....Dad i went for a walk but hey I took all my belongings with me and that fishing pole tooo.

Why the trip to the Lawyer that morning?
Where else did he go?

Most importantly why wasnt he concerned when he arrived home and his son was gone?Hes 13.

Telling ya none of it makes any sense..

(1) He had an appointment with the lawyer, this was discussed a few pages ago.
(2) Other errands.
(3) He was concerned, he went to Bayfield to see if he had gone to his friend's place. Why do you think he wasn't concerned?

Agreed. If they had complete faith in dad's story, I think they would be focussing more on the road going towards Bayfield. That would indicate they thought Dylan was taken while hitchhiking or walking towards his friends home.
But it seems they are looking at the area they drove past after walmart and mcdonalds?

This might have been answered before... but did MR call Dylan's cellphone once he discovered he wasn't home?

(1) They gave the mother a lie detector test too.
(2) Of course they searched his house, that's where Dylan was last seen. That's good police work. If your child went missing and the last place they were seen was your home, LE would search your house too even if they had proof you had nothing to do with it.
(3) Again, with searching the cars, good police work. Even if they think MR innocent they have to do this to clear him, otherwise a good defense attorney will rip LE to shreds.
(4) Can you cite where you read about an extended/"intensive" interview? All I've heard about was the polygraph which they gave to the mother too.

Because it took him five hours to check on him?

I don't think he seemed that concerned. He comes home to an empty cabin, with the tv on and no note left behind. He was supposed to be coming back to give Dylan a ride to his friends house. So why wasnt Dylan there?

He knew Dylan had a friend a couple of miles away and all of the others were 15 or more miles away. So why didnt he immediately go check if Dylan had arrived safely? He waited until 4 pm to drive the couple of miles to the first friends home. He could have done that at 11:30. he texted his son and then waited five hours to check on him.
