The bottom line is -

Dylan has not been seen for 21 days
He was last seen in a Walmart video
It is very, very possible that he did NOT want to make this trip to see his dad - he wanted to see his friends - he had made plans to see his friends Sunday evening
He lived in the same town as his dad (until July 2012) and had very minimal interaction or contact with his dad the past 3 years or longer
On November 18 he was put on a plane to spend a whole week with pretty much a stranger with anger issues
It wouldn't be hard for me to imagine that Dylan also had some pent-up anger against his dad
No activity on phone since around 8 pm Sunday night
No online activity
No witness (other than dad) that Dylan even made it to the remote location of his dad's place
Dad arrived at his home on Saturday or before (Dylan's plan got delayed until Sunday) - did anyone see him/talk to him/what was he doing? If he was already at the airport waiting on Dylan's plane on Saturday, why didn't he do the major part of his grocery shopping then? Was there enough food in the house for 2 men to eat for a week?

Too many unanswered questions....

What happened after that Walmart video?

So, LE my question is - DID THE TRACKING DOGS PICK UP DYLAN'S SCENT AT HIS DAD'S HOUSE??

And if NOT, well tell us what really happened, Mark.

It seems like it should be a simple question, eh? Was Dylan at Dad's? Why does it feel like LE is dodging it?

Ten agencies, including the La Plata County Sheriff's Office, the local police departments and the Red Cross gathered to further search with the community. Searchers hiked more than 60 miles of county roads looking for things Dylan may have thrown out of a car window.

They said it's possible he tried to escape or hide in areas of brush to keep warm.

For the tight-knit town that now has posters up everywhere, the thought of an abduction was completely unexpected, yet, investigators told Action 7 News that's exactly what they think happened.

How long did it take LE to release photos of DR at Walmart? A few weeks?

Given the amount of effort that MR put into getting visitation for his son - lawyers ain't cheap and there seemed to be a lot of planning done as to when DR would see his friends vs. hang out with MR - I wonder if he's been talking about this to anyone who will listen for the past few weeks. And the wrong type of person overheard.

But how would a stranger know if the kid lived there are not?

He was just there in September. He has to be flown in to see his dad. I dont expect him to see his dad often. It seems Dylan comes on holidays when school is out. He wouldnt be able to see him all the time since Dylan would be in school.

We dont know if Dylan was home, standing on the porch or what. We just dont know where he was and if no one was around... we know all too well just from reading here it doesnt take but a minute to abduct a child. And in those cases so many were certain it wasnt a stranger or a nieighbor but were dead certain it was the parent. These creeps dont even have to do it by force. They are very good at what they do unfortunately in luring children into a vehicle.

775 cases of known child abductions that ended in murder is a huge study with hundreds of known and proven cases in it. Only 14% of the time out of these 775 murdered children was the child murdered by their parent.

Now yes, around 400 parents a year do murder their children, but most are much younger than Dylan but those cases usually wind up where the murdering parent tries to fake an 'accident' by calling 911 and the autopsy says otherwise.

IMO

And there are a lot of unsolved cases, like Haleigh Cummings and Sky M and Ayla Reynolds, and Hailey Dunn, and Celina Cass, in which the parents/guardians are the most likley suspects, but there is not enough evidence to charge them.

My oldest child just turned 17. When he was 8 his father signed away his rights to him and allowed my husband to adopt him. My ex's paternal grandparents are the most wonderful people in the world. They love and adore both of my children so I maintain a close relationship with them and Jay spends many happy times with them.

Every time my ex got involved in a new relationship he would try to rewrite history and pretend he was the most amazing father ever by taking advantage of the time Jay spent with his grandparents. When Jay was 13 he had enough and a fight ensued between him and the ex that involved LE and CPS in the end. It was brutal. My child wasn't raised to speak to adults the way he spoke to the ex or to resort to violence but puberty hit, he was sick of being used by a man that "gave him away" (his words) and just exploded.

I wonder if Dylan reach the same point.

Abduction makes so much more sense to me, than thinking that in the span of 1 to 2 hours, MR went from greeting his son at the airport to killing him. That just is not plausible to me. I do not believe it. jmo

In blue...What the ???? Are they backpeddling much? Maybe trying to make someone feel more comfortable?

LE cannot discuss anything about whether Dylan made it to MR's house...because if he didn't then they would have to name him as a suspect...not even POI

I've thought about this myself due to what my step-son went through with his mom/dad. When puberty hit - all **** broke loose and he did explode except over a "MOM" that he had issues with in putting down the boy's dad.... I totally would accept that Dylan just decided enough was enough and that he was going to do things "his" way and just up and walked away from it all.... I'm hoping that's the case and he is merely hiding out with someone who cares about him until he's old enough.

In a recent case I read about on the news a woman who was lost in the woods in N.CA said she slept in hollow tree trunks to keep warm. She survived for 5 days while her companion who went for help was found dead.

NOTE: THIS IS FROM A DREAM ONLY...
Yesterday, I took a nap, but I was startled out of my SLEEP and sat upright drenched in sweat and trying to figure out where I was because I heard Dylan yelling - "SPRINGFIELD". He yelled it with fear, he said it twice, and then I heard other unknown people frantically repeating: "It's caught on audio at Walmart - he said he's in SPRINGFIELD". That's when I woke up drenched in sweat. I had too many blankets on, but it's amazing what you can DREAM about when it bothers you about these missing kids. I don't believe in psychics myself and don't normally dream dreams that I remember. This one I did, because it shocked me awake. Just thought I'd share...

Interesting dreams by SighSister and TXJan!

Springfield, CO is in south east part of CO...

It is an historic town... Named after Springfield MO... After the settlers that came to live...

I think of old mines when I think of historic towns in western U.S.A.....

could not see reference to mines when I googled Sprinfield, CO...

but could there be some in the surrounding area?

You never know?.....

Maybe they are just trying to say they know more about this case than some people do. We have asked for information and then when they release more, all of a sudden, no one trusts what they are saying. jmo

I wanted to break down some of what you highlighted from the article you posted. Also just want to note this was published last night at 7pm so it's not from today.

"Searchers hiked more than 60 miles of county roads looking for things Dylan may have thrown out of a car window."

"They said it's possible he tried to escape or hide in areas of brush to keep warm."

"For the tight-knit town that now has posters up everywhere, the thought of an abduction was completely unexpected, yet, investigators told Action 7 News that's exactly what they think happened. "

I guess they're being thorough covering all options and ground everywhere. Based on the above, they're exploring that he "may have" thrown things out the car window, it was "possible" he tried to escape or hide" in areas of brush and as for an abduction, investigators think that's "exactly" what happened.

"May have" "possible" "exactly"

Interesting.

I know we hear "investigators tell" ______ (News station) all the time, as opposed to a named member of LE, but I'm a bit hesitant to give much weight to anything unless I see a name attached to a definitive statement.

JMO.

VASPORTSMOM,
If upon receiving my timeline/keywords/links, etc., you or Beach feel that it would be helpful to post somewhere in this forum so others could easily search for things, please feel free to do so. It may be too lengthy but I'll let you/Beach or someone else decide.
Thanks again for your help in getting this to Beach.

If admin has no problem with it I will share my Dropbox link so others can access it. There is a wealth of info in that doc. I can't imagine the time that you put in it!

It's not that I don't trust them, it's that I've listened to them in other cases and evaluated that in hindsight. For me anyways, it's always hard to tell what to take from LE as face value. I feel like I always end up having to read between the lines and tucking away that interpretation for future reference. IMO, much of what LE says is by design.

I agree! Looking at the intersection right in front of the house makes me wonder...could Dylan have been waiting in the driveway for his dad, maybe stepping out in the road looking for signs of him coming, when someone rolled up to that intersection and noticed him?

But if he was so impatient about dad, why didn't he call dad on his cell and ask when he was returning?

Why go stand out by the corner, without calling anyone and checking on rides?

He had one friend who lived just a few miles away. Why not contact him and ask if they were going into town that morning? Or call the other friends to see if he could get picked up?
