Red by me: escape from WHAT? That is a very odd statement IMO. Sorry if this has been discussed a lot already, I'm still catching up.

LE has given us such a small amount of information, which hopefully means they are trying to maintain the integrity of any future criminal case.
I really think LE has a pretty good idea of what happened. Unfortunately, I imagine whatever evidence they have is circumstantial. Hopefully they are able to put it all together and make an arrest.
I do think something will happen soon. (crossing my fingers)
“The investigation of Dylan’s disappearance is ongoing,” Bender said. “We won’t be revealing any list of what we find until it’s over.”
Again, I was respoinding to the theory that Mark had some kind of motive to kill his son. Yes, I did mention the possibility of losing his temper and threw out the fact that not all abusive husbands will abuse their children. I know there are hundreds who do, but probably thousands more who don't.
And we don't know for a fact that Dylan was unhappy to be visiting his dad, that's also speculation. Maybe he was, so is that why he is missing?
I just hope he is found.... I'm not saying yay or nay where Dad is concerned.
We got a storm blowing in here, I may have to unplug computer. Sorry... thanks for your reply though.
Darn it. I was hoping iphones were immune to that, because my daughter has managed to kill smartphones, dumbphones, and every kind of phone due to excessive use - including excessive use of the charger.
I'm so confused. Just nevermind me.
Oh thank you Vasportsmom...
I was totally kidding...I was reading behind y'all.. So when I posted I thought it was timely levity... But when I caught up... I found it was embarrassingly not! :blushing:
(I have done this so many times... Seems I would learn... Doesn't it? :clown![]()
iPhones are not immune. I'm on number 7 (I think) and my teen is on his 4th. My total does not include upgrading from 3 -> 4-> 4s -> 5.

OT: Everybody I knew who had IPhones kept trying to get me to switch over from my trusty Blackberry (I only had to replace it once in 3 years). I swear they were like a cult! Then I finally got an Iphone this year, got addicted to it 3 months in, and now it doesn't want to behave. It's all a trap orchestrated by Apple, I swear!
I understand that. I am asking about data already collected. There is no way to interpret unsolved cases, but we can establish some norms via solved cases.
Since Dad is not been ruled out, perhaps LE wanted him on the search. They knew they could watch his movements and behavior and that he would not be left alone to wander. If they did not want him to search, they could have easily prevented it happening.

Not disagreeing with you here, you make some good points, but how can you be "pretty sure" he left home with a full battery? How can you be sure his mother would have made sure he had charged it? And how can you be sure he would have thought to put it on the charger before he went to sleep? 13 y.o.'s are often not the most responsible people.
We all forget things sometimes. I've left for a trip and got halfway there only to remember I didn't take my curling iron, or something else. Stuff happens.
As to flip phones being able to hold a charge for a long time, what's a long time? I've had two... the first one would hold a charge for two days or more. This one will start going down within 12 hours of when I charged it, even when I haven't used it much. And I found out recently that with some phones, if you overcharge them, the battery goes down faster. Don't ask me why, I have no idea.
Yes, the phone not being used is troublesome. But maybe he was so tired, he fell asleep and forgot to put it on the charger, or he didn't feel like digging around in his backpack for it. We just don't know.
The point is, we can't assume facts that are not in evidence, as they say in court.
The reason I say I am pretty sure the cell was charged is because of his mom. If you are going to send your 12 yr old ALONE on a plane trip, wouldnt you make sure his cell was fully charged? I say that because I used to send my kids to see their grandparents and they traveled alone. And I ALWAYS made sure my sons cell was fully charged and ready to go.
If they wanted to watch him, it would have been easier to do back at the search HQ - they could ask him (and ER) to be around in case they found something and wanted verification that it belonged to Dylan or not. IMHO of course.
