That is my fear and I am positive it's crossed LE mind as well . Which is why they may be stumped as there is no crime scene at the moment and no sightings of Dylan to help them along and no mobile tracking either .

How can LE move the case forward ?!

Do you have a link showing that LE has said that? TIA

Her comment about phone reception doesn't really prove anything IMO. Brands and models of phones can vary when it comes to reception, even with the same service provider. Also, it's been my experience that cell reception in rural isolated areas can vary from day to day as well. My parents live in an area like that and some days I can get decent reception, or maybe just for an hour or two, or if I hold it up to a window, or step outside on the porch...

And, up until today, I hadn't considered that Dylan could have stepped outside to get better reception, yet I do that all the time when I'm at my parents' house.

I am thinking that LE would have covered all this with MR. Since they are aware the phone was not active after 8:00 I think this would be an important point to them as well as to us. I can't believe they have not covered this with him to their satisfaction. But, we don't know because they have not told us a darn thing. So frustrating because we keep going over and over important points and I am sure they know all the answers that we are trying to figure out. And if they don't know then DR doesn't have a chance in heck of being found or getting justice. :banghead: jmo

Her comment doesn't prove anything but she's local and could probably offer more insight about the area on a number of topics that we speculate about. I agree about varying reception from model to carrier, day to day, time and exact location. It was discussed very early on that Dylan's reception could've been poor inside the house and may have stepped outside or even walked down the street looking for service, I do that too when I'm unable to connect. I don't think that's odd at all, but I don't see how it explains the phone being off/not pinging/ not being used at all after 8pm on Sunday and by all accounts Dylan not making any contact with anyone after that time too. Same problem as always. Back to square 1, IMO.

So if he did this why did he take his rucksack and fishing pole if he was stepping outside for a second ?

But if he never turned his cell phone on that morning, how would he know he needed to step outsider to get better reception?

Some days I turn on my phone inside my folks' house and it says No Service. If that were the case, would we know if it had been turned on? I'm just wondering here, because I honestly don't know.

Whenever I get no service on my phone, I just wait until it finally shows a bar or two, but I'm not an impatient teenager.

Where are you getting the fishing pole from?

I don't understand why this continues to be brought up. LE discredited this as NOT being Dylan's (the one found by Vallecito Lake). There's no confirmation that the "alleged missing fishing pole" dad "reported" missing was ever there or ever missing.

If you have a link or info, please let me know. thanks.

If he were outside looking for cell phone reception, an SO could have driven by and struck up a convo, offered to take him to his friends or even show him a place where he could get better reception...

I know it's grasping at straws but, if Dylan were abducted by a SO, then there's a chance that he could still be alive, and I keep looking for explanations that fit that scenario.

MR said his fishing pole was missing. If he has been honest in his statements, we have to take that into account.
imo

Why would i have a link when its a MOO ?
:)

MR can not prove anybody saw Dylan after 8pm it would seem and the next morning he simply vanishes without a single trace .. it seems mighty odd ( IMO)

How could there be a link? Not being snarky, but if MR is the only one who says the pole is missing, who else could there be to confirm that? I don't think there is any MSM link saying there ISN'T a fishing pole. And LE certainly hasn't said there was no fishing pole. So without any way to obtain independent confirmation, all we can do is either accept or reject MR's statement about the fishing pole, IMO.

Obviously some of us reject outright anything MR says, others accept what he says, and some are sitting on the fence waiting for more evidence. JMO

Thank You :)

i do not want people to think i made that up. As i thought i had read about a missing fishing pole.

Possibility - he stepped outside trying to get reception, saw someone he or his father knew who offered him a ride, he went in and got his stuff, and accepted an ill-fated ride.

I've seen reference to a fishing pole, that has been discounted because the owner came forward, it was not Dylan's (I believe that was in the Durango Herald)

The only time that MR has verification of where he was between perhaps 8 pm and 430 pm was while he was at his divorce attorney office. Given the distance between Vallecito and Bayfield or Durango, that could very well take up 3 hours. Nobody but the attorney & MR know what was said during that meeting and/or what his demeanor was or the purpose. It's obvious that it was a scheduled meeting, or at least supposed that it was scheduled.

So, for approximately 12 hours there is no indication of where MR was or where Dylan was. That's a lot of time to travel.

Then after the attorney appt, MR said he tried texting Dylan but did not receive a reply. He waited until about 430 to report him missing.

All the reports about Dylan sleeping in, eating cereal, tv on nickelodean, fishing pole missing - all of that is coming from MR and not verified by anyone else. I also find it odd that the cereal bowl and tv were not mentioned in the first couple of interviews MR had w/the media.

There's also the waking him up in the morning confusion, it went from MR was making noise around the house trying to wake him, then it was that Dylan acknowledge that he knew MR was leaving, then finally MR said that Dylan said "ok I understand".

So which was it? Was he out like a light? or however MR phrased it in the beginning or did he respond?

It also bothers me that MR would not return text or calls to CR or ER! Who does that?

(cause I'm new to this I guess I'm suppose to put IMO)

Do you think those potentially involved would confess?

A random offender unknown and unsuspected by LE seems to have a pretty good secret at this point. Then again perps often get arrogant, liquored up and brag.
I'm afraid that if anyone does ever confess (somehow displaying a conscience), the lack of evidence will work in his (or her) favor and his supporters and attorneys will claim duress and public opinion and pressure caused a false confession. imo only.

eta: also if this was a random stranger abduction by a SO (NOT one of the RSO's checked and cleared by LE) or some sick violent predator in or around the community, they would eventually have to ughh I don't want to type it. Please finish my sentence as it makes me ill to think it. He would eventually be discovered, somwhere in some form. But with no evidence or trace of Dylan to dad's, at dad's or from dad's (that we know of) it does seem like Dylan just disappeared off the face of the earth so I'm not sure how this will be resolved, like you said without a confession.

I think confessions are fairly rare in these cases unless a suspect is known and is presented with irrefutable evidence.

Some people believe that a parent or relative is involved in the vanishings of Ayla, Lisa, Isabel, Hailey, Haleigh, Kyron, Hassani, and others, and if so, I doubt there will be confessions in any of those cases. As far as a stranger abduction, there is no reason for such a person to confess when/if they are not even on the radar.

Why would Dad report the fishing pole as missing if it weren't true?

I'm curious if any areas outside of the Durango/Bayfield/Vallecito routes have been explored/searched.

I think given the unaccounted time periods, it is very likely that areas maybe even in the opposite direction are possible crime scene locations.

Of course, that entire area has so many mountains, hills, lakes and rivers and there is so much area that is pretty much wide open with no homes around for miles, the chances of finding anything are probably extremely slim.

I would think that he would report it missing if it weren't true to change the focus.
