http://durangoherald.com/article/20121208/NEWS01/121209618/Volunteers-search-for-Dylan-

In this article it says that the Sheriff's Office does not believe there is a sex offender abducting children (then it adds, from the area). So if they don't believe they have a sex offender out there abducting, what kind of abduction could it have been?

I mean, I wish Dylan was at the North Pole with Santa Claus...having a big ole' time with mounds of presents and smart phones. But I think that after all this time, its a very small sliver of hope to which we all hold. It can happen. Maybe Dylan is being held somewhere. But given the time frame we have in place...and knowing Dylan and his love of texting and cell phone use...I feel we have to look starting after 8 pm on Sunday night. After that time, Dylan is never seen or heard from publicly again.

And here I sit still awaiting mindys clue....

he must of had more clothes than just leaving a clean outfit behind and then what happened to the dirty stuff he would of changed out of ?

Can they not trace the last ping ?

I am wondering if the last ping was isolated in the search area this past weekend....
for them to think he threw his phone or is hiding out in that area makes me think that's where the phone was last pinged while it was on. I just don't know.

Darn it, I was curious about that at one point and now I can't remember why. My oldest is left handed and there was something that made me wonder if Dylan wasn't too. Oh well, it will hit me in the middle of the night.

I'm basing this off his baseball pics on that finddylan facebook site. He pitches left and throws left, so I'm assuming he is left handed. (now my son bats left but is right handed and throws right handed.)

Pics don't flip the hand usage, do they?

  • #126
There is a pic on one of the MSM sites with his baseball glove on his hand- he is a leftie. The professional pic of him (with bat) may be staged right- or he switch hits...
''

He throws left handed and bats right handed. My ex did the same and he is a lefty.

I also thought that but then why has nothing been said as if it was there then MR is lying and then you ask why he is lying and so on.

Those pictures could be it. My youngest bats left because his left handed brother taught him.

Wait, I remember now. It was talk of a possible baseball game he was meeting the friends for. We wondered if he had his glove or would just use an extra. I wondered if he was a leftie then because IME there usually isn't a spare landed glove around. My oldest has to pack his and I've made many a trips to deliver a forgotten glove to him at practice so he could play.

Me too- very rare to have a "spare" glove for a leftie.

I think the baseball was a mistype/quick transcript of NG show, about taking him to "baseball" and it should have been "Bayfield". I'm 99.9% sure that's what it was, but you are right, had to buy 21 yo left handed daughter her own glove this summer while she was home to play catch with. Couldn't use anyone elses and who knows where her's went over the years.

AA for whom? Not being snarky, but I thought both parents were accused of alcohol problems?

Also, didn't they have joint custody until she moved? it would have been standard to change that to visitation with mom as custodial parent if they didn't live in the same city anymore. JMO

I didnt signal any one person out.

I would think the entire family.

Still no matter where anyone moved Kids should be in a safe environment dont you agree?

Why didn't Dylan use his phone Monday morning...

  • #133
Let me try to find that. I do know they accounted for all local SO's...but then the MSM article came out that said they felt it could be an abduction. But I could swear I read that they did not consider this a SO abduction.
Now I'm confusing myself.

I read that all SO's have been checked and all have been where they said they were.

I'm sure LE has looked at MR's internet records from Sunday night and Monday morning. You'd probably expect Dylan to have accessed the web at some point, and visited sites he would obviously be interested in, if he did make it to his dad's.

Not sure if it's OK to mention this here, apologies if it's not, but I thought it was interesting that multiple searchers called in finds of McDonald's items on Saturday. Made me think that they were specifically asked to keep a look out for them as they searched the route MR would have driven from Durango Sunday night.

I think both parents could have used some counseling, if for no other reason than to develop some communication skills that would allow them to co-parent effectively. Monthly court battles are ridiculous and not a good sign.

On the issue of 'both' parents having alcohol issues, as one poster said:
As I understand it, MR went to his sons school(s) and removed them from school, withOUT their mother's consent or prior knowledge. Much later, during their divorce/custody issues, MR claimed that he removed them from school because he was afraid she would pick them up from school while drunk.

I don't know. I wasn't there. But this, to me, sounds like a flimsy and nasty excuse to cover his own earlier misdeed of taking them out of school, possibly during a marital fight, and making her look bad at the same time.

I never believed this story at ALL, especially considering his known history of drinking and committing violent and exceedingly inappropriate acts while drunk.

I think they also searched the route from the airport/walmart to Vallecito and I think I also saw some searchers still around the lake area....

also please remember to keep scanner chatter down in the basement...

I'm sure the searchers were asked to keep a look out for McD's stuff. Unfortunately that's something that is often littered.

Please ask Dylan when you find him for us :please:

I really wish I knew- but like someone else said- "trying to figure out how a 13 yr old thinks...."
along with lack of info

Idk where the truth lies in regards to their alcohol issues but it is likely that we aren't getting all of it from either of them. From just what we have witnessed in the media it is obvious they have a difficult relationship. If they have a history of him ignoring her when angry and then her lashing out to provoke a reaction then it stands to reason that they had a volatile marriage. Using a judge to replace common sense on a monthly basis just bewilders me.
