I agree, it is possible, but we only have MR's word that it happened at all.Even if TV was left on when police showed up, it still doesn't prove Dylan was the one watching it to begin with.

I keep seeing that phrase posted and while it is true, who else's word are we going to have? Only DR and MR were there. I for one believe him and I know some don't, so for me it is a moot point. jmo

As far as I can tell, we don't know when exactly MR made this lawyer appointment.

True. I'd also point out he had this lawyer in place due to prior events unrelated to
Dylan's disappearance ~ so he didn't "lawyer up" so to speak...

I am in no way pointing my finger at MR...
just trying to answer ??? my brain keeps asking!!!

I'm not even on the fence!~ I can't find the fence!

Curious about this line of thought. So, if he obtained one (which I am assuming he could have done at any grocery store so he could have a "cooler" phone than his parents allowed) wouldn't his friends have that new number or mention to LE that Dylan called from two numbers?

Wondering what the theories are behind this.

I am confused about the thought that DR had a 'pay as you go phone'. Please explain. Do you think his mother bought it for him, or are you thinking he has this phone and she does not know about it? I am not sure why he would have one. Not saying that it isn't possible, but I had not thought of that. tia

I'm gonna jump in if you don't mind and add :twocents: on this theory.
If/assuming Dylan had a burner and hasn't contacted or attempted to contact any friends or family, it's a safe assumption it was for communication with a stranger. As we've discussed, Dylan liked online games and that "tech stuff", even if he isn't "tech obsessed" those systems and games online make it extremely easy (actually, frighteningly easy) for kids to talk to other gamers while they're playing. My 13 y/o nephew is usually very cautious and suspicious of people and my sister (his mom) is all over him with monitoring, but when he plays these games she sees how quickly conversations and "friendships" get struck up.

Never know who's on the other end. I'm sure everyone in his life has been asked if he purchased a burner phone. Or, if he met someone online who wanted the phone and their "friendship" to be secretive and remain that way-- was Dylan ever in a grocery store or pharmacy alone able to buy one of these phones ? OH! ! What about Walmart that night?? Of course this is more speculation, since he wasn't pictured w/dad maybe he had spending money from mom (or dad?) to get a few things for his trip and was instructed to get a burner phone so he could talk or text his "friend" without getting in trouble? I remember this conversation before but can they pinpoint if ANY cell activity took place Sunday night in the location of dad's house?

Any of this making sense?

Yep! One of the places my mind has gone...
Someone that he communicated with "while at dad's"
or "knew" he was not happy about having to go there...

He may have been prime for the picking in someone's mind
that knew what the poor kid was dealing with!

***eta: A "bad guy" could easily have mailed him this type of phone...
Even stet up a PO box for him to retrieve it... KWIM?

It's pick and choose who to believe .....:doorhide:

You got that right. And isn't it always that way, but until I see something definitive that makes me believe he is lying, I am going to go with him. I know it is not popular but I don't feel he is being deceitful. Now if and when I do, I will change my mind. jmo

Unless dad did something to Dylan in a fit of rage. I just don't think it's plausible that dad would have sent Dylan into hiding during his visit when they hadn't had much time to spend together. MOO

No, Dad wouldn't.

Remember the flight was delayed for engine problems or something like that so DR came on sunday instead of a day or 2 before like MR was originally expecting him--therefore imo i could see that DR had plans to meet up with his friends Monday already before he left (since he was coming to see his dad earlier before the plane problems and change of flight)-maybe DR already had those plans in the works while at moms house, who knows-maybe DR thought since they might go near where his friends lived he'd try and slip in and have dad drop him off sunday night instead---and MR decides no and wanted to spend the evening whatever with his son--this also makes sense to me of why MR would have scheduled all his "errands" for Monday morning--he himself came into town a few days earlier--wasnt expecting Monday to be the first day with is son--but with the plane delay it was--however, MR already had the errands set up--i think that was good planning because DR was to be at his friends, and MR get his errands done so that he can spend the rest of the week with his son
all my opinion only (and i hope that doesnt sound like too much babble)

Good job and not babbling at all. :cupcake: <--------- couldn't find a donut.

If was indeed at the house on Sunday then why would LE not come out and confirm that ??

Maybe they just can not prove anything either way hence not coming out with " it's a fact Dylan was at the house on Sunday night "

Maybe they confirmed it early on and they don't read websites to know everyone is wondering? Maybe it seems like a no-brainer outside looking in. Or maybe they don't know.

So will I. Right now I'm :fence: with my tush protected with pillows. (and donuts)

I honestly don't think MR knows.

Remember this is just my train of thinking. I have to be able to rule out the planned disappearance or an outright abduction before I can consider MR at all. With what we know I cannot do that, no matter we thought at first and ER's verbal accusations.

When MR hired an attorney, it was stated in some article that he said he had hired an attorney to "watch his back". Think about that statement.

He has cooperated fully with LE, all his interviews were without an attorney and LE has never said, as they have in other cases when someone hires an attorney, we would like to talk to MR again. They have stated he is fully cooperating.I think if he was a suspect he would still be at the police station or there a whole lot more!

As far as this possibly being set up by kids, maybe they never expected all the publicity/media and now don't know what to do?

I cannot begin to fathom the why's but if what I think is true I hope there are dire consequences if any adults are involved no matter which of my scenarios listed above.

But if I am wrong I will eat my crow stew just as happily as I'm sitting on my fence...

strange case, strange LE response

Again, I'm right there with you and I'll be sharing that pot of crow stew with you. I'll bring the candles and wine.

I hope there are dire consequences if any adults are involved in this as well. In fact, I'm looking forward to it.

Good! I see you have a lil miss due!
Congrats! keep watching those cartoons... and in April you will have
even more reasons to watch!

I like SpongeBob too... But I am not a pre-pubescent testosterone elevating young male...

Who maybe did still like cartoons! I dunno! :twocents:

(I too will watch Blue and Dora MAYBE even "Barney" again...someday hopefully sooner than later... WHEN I have grandkids!)

The break was NICE!

Thank you :) my baby girl is due on the 4th of January, I wrote the date differently because I'm in Australia hehe.

Yep you're right. Maybe he did like cartoons, maybe he didn't. We just don't know. :sigh:

I so wish we knew IF DR computer in C Springs was checked for emails, chats, etc. before he even left to meet his dad. :please:

I don't think he could get anything, not even a pay as you go phone because of his age. IDK

I don't know about specific rules prohibiting a 13 year old from purchasing a pre-pay cell (you may be right) but there are pre-paid phones made just for kids like Firefly, for example. I'm looking to see what if any might be sold at Walmart or in local convenience stores, etc.

When did they ever confirm it? The only thing they confirmed is that he arrived at the airport, and then Wallmart.

DR and MR were there.
DR is missing
Mr is the last to see him.

so all we have is what MR has said.

And I dont feel the same as you.
