the cars were part of the same search (re: search on that day)

also: do we really know that they still have not been returned? I know one article said they were still not returned but they could have been returned since the time of that article ykwim?

Agree. No confirmation on the return of the vehicles i have read either.

Just trying to think of other possibilities this morning, and I most assuredly could have missed the information being posted that I am asking about here.

Ranson, maybe you can answer this: In travelling to Vallecito from Durango, it seems a rather direct route on good roads would be through Bayfield. Has any of the released info stated what road MR took home after picking up Dylan and making the stops at Walmart and McDs? Have any searches been done along Hwy 160?

Assuming that the dogs couldn't get a good scent from the couch and sheet (or blanket) because others could have sat/slept/use those items. What about his clothing that was there? It said in an article that there was some clothing (Denver Post 12/2/12) sorry I can't figure out how to attach the threads. I'll learn.

That all makes sense to me. But, ER had to get clothing from her home in Colo Spgs. The only way it would be possible for the clothing to NOT be contaminated from ER's house is if Dylan had his own clothes hamper or he left clothing on the floor. Otherwise his clothing would be mixed in with the laundry for the entire family. Right?

I would think they would want an item as pure of Dylans scent as possible. Perhaps a hat, pillow case etc. We aren't clear on the clothing left/not left at Dads. We have read MSM reports that no clothing was left behind. A poster points out above (forgive me i forgot who) that it was Dad who said a few articles were in the House. Now that came from the reporter and not directly from Dad. So we are unclear.

Going through Bayfield would not be a direct route.

So? The boy had just slept there for 12 hours.

But other people had sat/laid on the couch, used the blankets and pillows, which left THEIR scent on them. So there was nothing that had ONLY Dylan's scent. Like clothes that only he wore.

Too bad google earth isn't live. Then we could just see if they sit in the driveway !

That would be a dream come true for stalkers!

Didn't dad say some articles of dylans clothing were left?

Yes, on the couch. But if they were washed and unworn clothes that had been packed for his trip, they wouldn't have worked for the dogs.

The dog would pick up Dylans scent and then could pick up that same scent in Dads house if Dylan was there. Other crimes when scent dogs are used have other scents on and around the scent they are looking for why is this one different?
They would still be able to pick up the scent.

Same with fingerprints, Just because other prints are there does not mean you cant get one.

How are they going to discern the same scent from two different places as belonging to Dylan? Dogs can't talk.
Twenty other people could have sat in that truck besides Dylan. Dogs simply cannot pick out ONE scent and then identify that as being the same scent that is on the couch or the blankets.
I'm not a dog handler but that's just common sense, IMO.

Hahaha! True dat!!!

You and Schmae are so good at comedy! Actually, lots of us here can get pretty funny when there is nothing new to discuss...we should promote a marathon comedy show and charge non-members $1 hour to watch...all proceeds donated to Dylan's Search (or reward) fund!! :great:

That's what we have been told. Again tho a poster pointed out it was a quote from Dad. So did say it? I wish LE could/would clarify some of these many questions we have.

I am so disenhearted with how things are going in finding Dylan. It seems as if LE has totally hit a dead-end wall. :banghead:

We know that Dylan got off the plane and was at Walmart due to video releases.
We know he planned to go to his friend's house on Sunday evening (I think these plans were made when he thought he would be arriving on Saturday but his flight was cancelled/rescheduled to Sunday.) He communicated to his friends that he could not come on Sunday evening after he got off the plane and spoke to his dad but plans were made that he would be there at 6:30 am on Monday morning.
Perhaps dad had scheduled his appointments for Monday morning when he thought Dylan was arriving on Saturday and Dylan was going to be with his friends on Sunday. Perhaps Dylan was scheduled to stay in Bayfield on Sunday.
Dylan's phone has not been used since some time Sunday evening (perhaps around 8 pm).
We know that cadaver dogs hit on "scents" at the lake but that does not mean it was Dylan's scent. The experienced dive teams did not find anything after spending days at the lake; not saying there is no decomposing person/animal there but unable to locate at the time. (I know this is complicated but it's the way I have intrepreted the situation).
Dylan, his packpack, phone/charger and most clothes along with his fishing pole are no where to be found.

What I DO NOT know from LE is if Dylan made it to his dad's house on Sunday. I DO NOT know from LE if the scent dogs tracked Dylan from his dad's house to WHERE?

JMO/thoughts - I would hope LE would tell the community if they 100% knew that the previous things happened. IF that is true, why hasn't LE had a press conference saying...he arrived, he went to Walmart and McDonalds. He went to his dad's house. He slept on the couch. His scent was tracked from the house to such and such area. We need information from anyone that saw him in the area the scent ended (with the parents/family/friends at the press conference begging for leads/information)....BUT no, we have not seen this. Why?? - JMO

With the family history, it seems anything could have happened and possibly did.

I don't understand LE's silence but I have to have faith in their investigative
skills. The whole situation seems hinky to me.

Sorry my post is so long but I'm trying to review what little facts we have.

So, where is Dylan and what happened to him? :rocker::rocker:

Guess i will pop in Season 4 of Dexter (yes way behind) and keep refreshing here :please:

Probably clothes that had been laundered, though. If they were the clothes he wore on the trip there I would think they would be excellent for scent articles, because they would have his most recent scent.

I brought this up before, but the idea never got any traction :( Apologies if it was discussed earlier and I missed it. What do we know about the iPod that Dylan had with him? If it's an iPod touch, he could have a texting app and possibly a voice app for calling. More importantly, he could have the Find My iPhone app--it is compatible with some iPod models.
