I would like some help looking into another MISSING WOMAN'S Case. Would anyone like something else to do? I could really use some input/help here.

I am concerned. After seeing nothing new yesterday, I reached out to what appears to be her friend, via FB, and she did not respond. Additionally, Jennifer's husband has a FB page, but no capability to even message him at all. Looking around,...I am concerned at the apparent lack of interest. Anyone want to look into this with me?

So we have a kid texting Dylan at 6:46am, and at no time in the day does Dylan ever respond to this text. He had access to landline, and his phone, and his friend never heard from him. 7:30MR says DR was awake and aware enough to know he was leaving, and DR still doesn't check his phone afterwards....cereal bowl by the sink and Nick on TV and still doesn't hear from DR.....yeah this isn't right...something is wrong.

We know cell phone reception at MR's house was spotty. It's perfectly possible that DR's phone never received the text, or that he did get it and sent a reply, but the phone was never able to transmit it.

I thought exactly the same thing. The early morning text from Dylan's friend does it for me. Surely if Dylan was awake enough to tell his Dad he understood he had missed his lift and that MR would be back at 11am to take him, then he was awake enough to check his phone and let his friend know.

Not only that, the previous evenings text conversation ends abruptly. Surely Dylan would have confirmed that, yes he would knock on that particular door.

All MOO

OH NO :(
"". Surely if Dylan was awake enough to tell his Dad he understood he had missed his lift and that MR would be back at 11am to take him, then he was awake enough to check his phone and let his friend know."""

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^ is 10000% true ...... I just felt a loss...... a knot in my throat. Dylan could not answer a text at 646 am.

Gosh, the texts make me feel worse, and more scared for Dylan. Just kind of bleak. The way they just seem to end, and Dylan never replies again to his friend. Clearly they were having a real conversation, not just a quick text to say he couldn't make it. There is no way, IMO, he would have never checked his phone again, even if he lost service for a bit, to see what his friend said next, if he could have. They had real, specific plans, not just "see ya tomorrow."

Sorry. I didn't look back to see your exact quote, but the meaning was pretty much the same. You cast a wide net on custodial parents and unless you actually know some that are receiving big bucks for child support, you can't say that they are using it for their own personal needs.
If a parent provides, food, clothing, shelter, utilities, school and activity expenses, etc. out of their own money for their child but then perhaps receives a child support check and treats themselves to a trip to the beauty saloon, it doesn't exactly mean they are using their child support for the beauty saloon. This is something I've seen several folks get a bit confused about.

BBM, please don't tell me what I meant. You don't know me and that was not my meaning, that's how you and others perceived it. I'd like to agree to disagree and move on. Being defensive and argumentative of something doesn't help find Dylan.

One BIG difference in Jessica Ridgeway's case is that her remains were found by two civilian trash service workers fairly quickly, and LE found the pentagram close by, which gave them a clue to finding the perp.
Sometimes these cases are solved by sheer luck. If those workers had not spotted the remains when they did, they might not have solved the case until another child went missing, and maybe not even then. Now that Lyric and Lizzie's remains have been found, they might be able to solve that case now as well.
Skills and good equipment help, of course. But it makes a huge difference when they have a body to work with.

I absolutely agree. Just trying to make sense of this. Maybe I'm just desperately hoping LE knows more than we do

I don't even understand what this means.

MR claims he was asleep at 6:30 and still in bed at 7:30.
His friend sent him a text at 6:46am.

I have a cell phone (a cheap slide phone instead of a flip phone like Dylan's), it makes a sound when a text is received. I cannot hear that sound in the next room and it certainly would not wake me up, and I am a light sleeper.

It means the friend was serious about the visit. At 6:46 am he is already asking where Dylan is. So why Dylan wouldn't be serious about the visit? According to MR, at 7:30 AM Dylan was still sleeping away.

looking at times of the text exchange between Ryan and Dylan, it was between 6.43 and 7.09 that Dylan said he can't come that his dad had said no.

its not exactly 'late' is it.

Nice fine Aust... yes I has assumed the ' its too late to go '' excuse was much more like 830 or 9 pm ish ..... :(

As one who is still on the fence, that is information I would love to know myself. Did that video turn up any footage of MR on the road during the night? Did his cell phone ping from somewhere not near his house during those hours?

That's the kind of information that could push me off the fence if the answers were yes. That's solid information, which would show he was lying about what happened that night.

And alternatively (since I am on the fence) I would love to know about that video footage also to see if there were any cars cruising the area that aren't from around there and could possibly be an abductor casing things out.

Unfortunately for me, it's also information that I doubt they will share with us if they do have it. At least until they build a case, whether against MR or someone else. They don't exactly seem like the sharing type, and they may have their own good reasons for not releasing it

I would love to see the video of DAD at walmart!
What he bought how he was with his son.
I wouldnt be surprised if he bought a fishing pole.

It would show the dynamics between the two.

Except that they say the phone was turned off after the 8:01 text....so it didn't receive anything...still shows me there is a problem, I believe no matter what DR would of called his friend at some point that morning.

"They" are wrong. Sorry to talk about this again, but there is no way for the police to know whether the phone was turned off, is broken, has a dead battery, or is just out of range of cell towers.

I think the tidbits that are released are done strategically with the approval of LE. This time the tidbit are the text messages between Dylan and Ryan. We don't really know if this is the entirety of Dylan's texts. Did he text anyone else on Sunday afternoon or evening, etc.? We didn't see the texts between Dylan and Elaine. We didn't see any texts between Mark and Dylan, or Elaine, or Cory, or Dylan's friends.

So why this particular text message? I would think if LE had said no to the text message being released, we wouldn't be seeing it.

Things that make me say hmmmmm

Ok but DR had access to a landline phone, and yet no phone call to his friend? If he didn't know friends number he could of called mom or someone to get the number children this age don't just say oh I don't know the number, they take action to get it....he had to of known someones phone number to get theres. The excuse for not having the numbers to me is silly(I have a 13,15,15 and they can and do get numbers this way).

It wasn't about where it is the sequence of events....but do to it being paraphrased I did give credence to that after the fact. We were told Walmart then McDonalds, now it is switched...but as before I agree it could of been misreported in this case(like with many other bad facts from MSM)

Ok, sorry. It just annoys me when people tend to leap into one tiny thing and make something out of it. Not saying you in particular, I have probably been guilty of the same thing, we all do, I guess.

I don't think we can trust the media for getting facts straight, either. They're known to sometimes word things in certain ways for the purpose of inflaming the public. It sells their papers or helps their ratings, whatever fits. I've almost come to the point that I don't believe everything I read unless LE says it. A word or two out of place can make a world of difference in the meaning.

I also want to say that I have a son who has been with LE over 21 years, and about 15 of those as a detective. I ask him questions frequently and he tells me how things are done, or how they should be done. It gives me a lot of insight on these cases sometimes. He will sometimes give me his opinions on the cases I follow. One thing he stressed to me is that in LE, the media can be your best friend... or your worst enemy. He cited one case where the media got a nibble of some false information and leaked it to the public. That case ended in a mistrial because of that. So they have to be very careful about what they say in public and to the media.

I would like to know this too. While Dylan was texting Ryan his phone was obviously on and working so I would think LE has pings. And I would think they have pings on Dad's phone too. Surely they can narrow this down some? When Dylan's phone quit pinging where was Dad's phone pinging? They must know much more than we do!

It keeps me thinking back to the search along the highway last weekend. LE only searched a certain stretch. That tells me phone pings determined that location. Interesting that LE unquoted statements were that Dylan may have been attempting an escape from an abductor or thrown out clues along the way. Now apply that same scenario to MR and Dylan being in an argument on the way home....

That search indicates to me LE has some info they were basing the search on.

Of note, from the article:

"The following is a text exchange between R N and Dylan Redwine that starts early afternoon Nov. 18 with the two swapping banter about their prowess with females."

The texts with his friend ends around:

R: (time 7:09 p.m. Nov. 18) Why

Dylan: idk

R: (time 7:45 p.m. Nov. 18) Did your dad say no

Dylan: (time 8:01 p.m. Nov. 18) yea

Note the time reported that the initial exchanges with his friend begin: early afternoon...

This just confirms to me that Dylan texts his friends frequently. The lack of communication after 8:01 doesn't fit with the pattern and is cause for concern for me. Just my thoughts...

LE have said there has been no further activity since about 8pm on that sunday night, it has not pinged, it has not been switched on theres been nada, absolutely nothing.

I believe their information was gained from the cell service provider, IMO thats where its at.

I also keep going back to Dylan's mom saying that Dylan would get up in the morning, that he was used to getting up and she was surprised to hear that he wouldn't (paraphrasing). I am too. He sounds very eager to see his friend and not at all anxious about the early arrival other than to make sure it is okay with R and that he will be let in. I think he sounds like he is looking forward to going to meet his friend more than anything else, including sleeping in.
