Does anyone think that Dylan is being "hidden" somewhere? Not specifically by MR either.
That's exactly what I think.

Well.... if we're not talking about MR,
what are other alternatives?
Would you say a stranger is "hiding" him? I wouldn't use the word "hiding" if it was a stranger, personally.
Are you referring more to someone who is known to Dylan?
IMO, it's not possible that LE needs nothing from the public; they have not found Dylan and have not made an arrest. Therefore, they very much need the public to be aware, alert, searching their land, etc. Yet they say nothing.

Can someone who believes Dylan to be "hidden away" give an idea of what the motive would be, five + weeks later? Is there, in this scenario, an end to it at some point? And just how would that work? I'm just baffled by the very idea. There is absolutely nothing to gain; Dylan would have to be being held hostage, prevented from any social contact, for how long? And presumably, in this scenario by someone close to him, for his benefit? I just don't get it, or see it as a possibility this late in the game.

I think if LE is watching someone / multiple people they would keep quiet, as they've been doing. That's one of the only scenarios I can see making sense.
I've considered if this was a total random stranger abduction and they have no idea where Dylan is, no proof that he's still local, no leads or tips to go on whatsoever... what then? They can't put out an Amber Alert. Can't work with specific jurisdictions, though the FBI has a broad reach. They can't target specific regions with news stories and missing posters. They would need an all out campaign so Dylan's face is known everywhere.
I'm still trying to keep an open mind and if there's the slightest chance someone's taken him far from home, it does seem like LE would need alot of public help. The silence is either purposeful or baffling.
On 12/8 the day of the search Lt Ed Phippen said,
When law enforcement can only go so far, we depend on the public, media and other organizations and individuals to help
This just leads me to believe they can't use the public/media's help (so ...why?).

Not really referring to anyone specifically. With LE saying "abduction" or "foul play", I was trying to look at all options. I don't know if LE means abduction that led to foul play or separately....
So, who knows. I guess anything is possible but perhaps not probable.
Trying to keep thread going for Dylan.
they could be keeping him for sexual things, in our area it wouldn't be hard to keep him from having social contact.

I would like to throw this out there for many. I have mentioned in the past that we have local reservations in our area, if you have never seen this then you will not know that they don't always speak up, many don't have phones, speak english, no outside contact with people in this area, see people for weeks, and it is not uncommon to not know what is going on with the people living close to you on the reservation.

Not sure I see what you mean with this - why I bolded above.
But who are "they"? I agree this is possible, if we are talking a random perp, but I get the impression some posters believe he was taken by a parent or family member. I think if he is alive, he is most likely being kept by a predator and that idea is horrifying to me.
I understand completely.
If someone does have him hidden away, I'm not sure what the end-game is... when is he supposed to come out of hiding and how is that going to work?
Anything that brings him home alive and well... but what an outrageous storyline, no?

I know - National Enquirer headliner.
Based on the information we have from LE, I don't see him being hidden away but abduction could be anything/anyone, right?
I still have my eyes on the last known person to see Dylan.
That(random perp) is who I am talking about, I don't think either parent could keep Dylan hiden and not be caught.
I have to disagree. I think they might be able to find a safe place for him with a distant relative. Just depends on what was going on in those sealed documents.
It has always seemed strange that the very morning of Dylans visit with dad...dad has to leave him for an appointment with his attorney. Really. When is enough with the attorneys.
Something is just not right.
Honestly I can see this being set up the night Dylan arrived and was so unhappy his did wouldn't take him to see his friend.
I can see ER just having enough and doing something to end Dylans misery with dad.
And I can see it as the perfect plan. MR takes off to see his attorney and one of ER's relatives..friends swoops down and off they go.
I hope and pray that is what happened.
Consequences...you might ask...heck ER would be a hero to every woman in America that has had to deal with a loser like MR. And to every child being pulled in two directions.
MOO of course.
I am about 99% sure they haven't; it may not help to tell the community to look out for such things now, as memories fade, but it couldn't have hurt to do so in the early days. They claim to have determined a crime had likely been committed very quickly. My guess is we are looking at someone relatively local to the area. The public can be of use, if they know what they should be looking for or thinking about. Unlike us at WS, people need to be reminded; reminded to search, reminded to think, reminded to take a moment and recall who has changed their vehicle, or had it detailed that week, or seemed edgy, anxious, even ill. I would never have known to think about those things before WS. Every criminal has people who know him or her, even if their friends and family have no idea they are a criminal.
I know LE does not "have to" share anything or even acknowledge the public, but is that really the way to go with a child missing? I just have not seen many positive results in cases where LE is this silent. JMO
