Exactly. It also reminds me of ER's comment about Dylan not being 'outdoorsy' (vs. being tech saavy) which has been picked apart a bit here. She said, "“He wouldn’t have gone off to the mountains to pitch a tent or build a fire.” ER seems quite aware that Dylan loved to swim and play outside with his friends and on family vacations, but the 'outdoorsy' comment in that context meant he would NOT have run off on his own to hide away. Which is the exact conclusion LE came to eventually ... Dylan was not a runaway. And who knows if that cost precious time. Again, a huge difference... and ER seems to know her son quite well.
I'm wondering if MR has ever talked to Dylan about hitch hiking. If he was firm about its dangers and warned Dylan not to do it. Has he said anything about whether he thought Dylan might hitch? Or was he laid back on the topic and it wasn't much of an issue?
--> eta: if MR was a truck driver at some point and lived much of his life on the road, I can see hitch hiking being an issue he would bring up with Dylan .. as a responsible parent. Just thinking about "occupational hazards" that parents see first-hand and what they would pass onto their children. Only a possibility of course.
That's right, he's a kid. A kid that doesn't follow through with plans sometimes, that blows of texts messages sometimes, that hitched rides sometimes, that didn't always call or leave notes. A kid. A kid that could have slept in, a kid who could have not woke up enough to text his friends, a kid who had to be talked to about hitchhiking because HE HAD DONE SO BEFORE.
The dog could have sat on the floorboards where the kid was. He actually looked to be hiding to me. His hair is the same lenght it was in the airport pic. He's in a moving vehicle without a seatbelt. In most states, that's against the law.
I haven't seen the photo in a while, but how do we know the car is actually moving? Could they not have been parked somewhere?
Children between the ages of 8 and 16
Colorado Law: Children between the ages of 8 and 16 must use a seatbelt or child restraint.

Do we know what state they were in, or if the car was actually in motion?
Hmmmm that picture while on CR Facebook could be anywhere. Didn't Dylan recently go on a road trip with his Dad? Point is we don't know anything about the background of it. When was it taken? Was the car even moving? Who was sitting next to Dylan to take the picture? If the car was moving who was driving?I guess I am not understanding..
From the very start, I've always believed whatever occurred happened around that 8 PM timeframe. Dylan's texting his friend and his friend sensed something wasn't right, and Dylan agrees, And Dylan makes plans for the 6:30 am next day with his friend, from the Texting it appeared Dylan wanted to get away from there as early as Possibile, and texted he wanted to be there at 6:30, which meant the Dad would have had to wake up around 5:30 to get ready and drive Dylan, the dad is not like a 13 y/o just jumping out of bed and driving Dylan.
I believe Dylan wanted to get away quickly, and they were arguing while Dylan was texting, and after Dylan told the dad he made plans for arriving at 6:30 am at his friends, the dad was very upset, maybe because Dylan wanted to leave very early instead of spending time with the father, and this caused the dad to destroy Dylan's cell phone, that would explain the loss of communications with the cell and Tower, and also Dylan's texting did not seem to end correctly with his friend, seems like Dylan would have texted more concerning the arrival the next morning, and also he never said goodnight or any follow up text.
I believe the father destroyed the cell in a fit of Rage, and Dyan was striking back, and the father caused the Dissapeareance of Dylan, There's a large time frame from that Evening until the time Law Enforcement was notified, and the father had plenty of time to dispose of evidence before notifying them.
Dylan just arriving hours earlier and telling his dad he made plans to be at his friends house the following morning at 6:30 makes me think he wanted to get away from there as quickly as Possibile. I believe Dylan was not at the house the morning the father claims he awoke to run those four hour errands, and Dylan did not want to awake, like I stated they would have needed to awaken around 5:30am to arrive at his friends at 6:30 am, and I believe the father sticking with the 6:30 am time should have alerted law enforcement suspicions also. Law Enforcement knows whatever happend, was around the 8 PM time frame, and the cell phone losing communications with the tower, helps to show the father is lying. He has the answers to solving this Disappearance, and bringing closure.

O/T - Merry Christmas to you too, Shef and all my great friends here at WS. You guys are my family now that the kids are grown up....how's that "empty nest" thing working, Shef, LOL?
My thoughts wandered to Dylan today as we opened our presents and ate our Christmas dinner. And watched A Christmas Story 4 times! My son got a new phone (and I thought of Dylan), I got an Ipod (and I thought of Dylan) and my daughter got a plane ticket to see her friend (and I thought of Dylan).
Somebody knows where Dylan is and I hope they are having the worst Christmas ever, all alone, no presents and eating a TV dinner.
