If Dylan expected his father to drive him to RN's by 6:30 am, Mark would have tried to get Dylan up at 5:30 am but in this article Mark specifically said he tried to wake Dylan around
7:30 am so I don't believe Mark was planning on driving Dylan to Bayfield in the morning.

snipped

Mark said he tried to wake his son the next morning around 7:30 before leaving to run errands, but Dylan was fast asleep.

But remember, he said there were two attempts. One in which he said Dylan was "out like a light" and the other where he said Dylan told him "I understand" when he said he was going to miss his ride and his Dad would come back and get him later after the errands.

No matter if it was charged or not he had a charger and could charge that phone once he got to the house. But he was never heard from again!

I have an old flip phone too, but as soon as I plug it in, I can text, if I should care to.

I would be willing to believe that something happened to Dylan after his father left on Monday if we knew why the H he stopped using his phone or failed to contact anyone in any way. So far, nothing I have heard makes much sense, no offense to anyone.

But if LE believe Dylan is out of the near vacenty then why no pleas for help to get the message out far and wide ?

It seems all the searching has been local and they are not saying anything to get other city's on the look out , are they ??

No they are not, but they have included the San Juan Co sheriffs office in on this...as the San juan Co sheriffs office has made comments in the local paper of the case.

Not 2 attempts but 2 versions of the same story!

My hubby has a flip phone and he has to charge it every day if he leaves it on. That's without doing any texting or phone calls. If he does either of those, he has to charge it sooner. It doesn't hold a charge for very long at all.

Thank you as I know the U,S is behind us in mobile technology. .

But even so if he had a 5 hour plane journey then the phone was off during that time .

And how many texts did he send that evening , I think 3 or 4 ? and that's not going to drain the battery than soon .

Even if the battery lasted 12 hours then then the phone was off for his entire flight .

With LE being so closed off about discussing this, how do we not know that MR didn't tell LE that DR said his phone wasn't working or needed to be charged? LE isn't telling us anything other than its last use was at what 8something the night he arrived.

Jumping of your post.

But LE said on 11/28/12 (9 days after he was reported missing):

“There’s a combination of factors,” Bender said. “There’s been the passage of time without any sightings; Dylan was not a visitor but had friends here; he has a history of staying in contact with his family and friends; and there’s been nothing on his cellphone record since he was reported missing

This statement has always bothered me. It has been previously stated that there were no activity or something on his phone some time after 8 pm Sunday night. But he wasn't "reported missing" until Monday sometime between 5 and 6 pm. Are they trying to tell us that when his phone stopped working/pinging/whatever is when he "really" went missing? Or am I trying to read more into it because LE has given us so little?

Also from article:

Twenty law officers on Wednesday continued their door-to-door visits and inspection of buildings that began Tuesday with the hope of finding someone with information who can help solve the mystery of Dylan’s disappearance.

I was hunting for this last night when we were discussing neighbors, friends, etc. So LE was continuing to do their door-to-door visits (I would think they started knocking on doors the 19th and 20th), possibly no one at all saw Dylan arrive at the house on Sunday? Or possibly someone saw Mark coming and going at odd hours by himself?

After all this time I am still :banghead::banghead:

I can't understand the phone, but without knowing if DR used the landline phone at dads I can't say anything.

I think what comes into play as well is when it had last been charged and what other usuage he had on it earlier in the day since his flight wasn't until that evening. If he played any games on it, that sucks the life out of any battery.

The ONLY fact they have shared with us is the cell usage ended at 8 pm. So IF MR had told LE that he took the cell away from D at 8 or that the cell was not charging, then LE would not have made a big deal about that 8 pm time. \

Also, LE used the lack of cell usage as one of the reasons they don't believe he willingly ran away. Again, if MR had told them the phone was not charging, then I doubt that LE would have used that as any type of a reason. JMO

8pm sunday!
No one could reach him all day Monday!

Yeh, that wording is kind of curious. It didn't say there was no phone activity since 8 pm on Sunday night, it said there was no cell phone activity after he was reported missing Monday night.

Once again, this is why it's hard to rely on MSM, when they can't get their facts straight. They change wording to make it original and they end up changing the meaning of what they are reporting.

I chuckle when I think of the one article that report G.H.W. Bush passed away when he hasn't. In such a big hurry to be the first to report something.

Just like NG tweeting that MR failed his poly, then had to delete it because that's not what Elaine said on her show. Sometimes it's hard to unring the bell.

I think the cell phone not being used after 8 pm Sunday is something MR cant
explain!

As one other poster mentioned MR also said on the day that DR went missing that he texted him several time. So your right all we know is that his phone had not been used, as for the time, I am not certain...as I keep seeing this like the previous post that said since the day he was reported missing which was the 19th not the 18th.

And if the phone/battery or whatever did quit working, WHY didn't Dylan use his dad's phone, home phone or computer to call his Mom or his friends? Elaine seems like a Mom that would have somehow arranged for him to get a phone on Monday when his dad was running errands or one of his friends probably had an old phone laying around he could use.

This is one of few FACTS we have in this case - Dylan ceased ALL communications sometime after 8 pm on Sunday.

Other facts we know:

Dylan has everything with him
Dylan did arrive at the Durango Airport
Dylan did go to Walmart

Any other facts I'm missing??...
