Because i have no idea about the lake or how deep it is , is it possible for Dylan to have fallen in whilst fishing for example ?

Of course anyone can fall in water while fishing. But we know that Dylan could swim. Presumably if he fell in the water while fishing from the shoreline he would not have far to swim. Now if he fell from a bridge that could be a different story. I don't see him walking 4 miles to the lake to fish when his mind was on getting to his friends in Bayfield. But I suppose it's possible? I think if someone did something to him that's what they would like people to believe.

TES does search AND recovery. They don't consider looking for remains a waste, quite the opposite they realize how important it is for closure and hopefully to help bring someone to justice, if needed.
It seems LE may turn them down, under certain circumstances... some that have been discussed the last page or two here. But I would think if LE has reason to believe Dylan is in the Lake or in Bayfield, there's good reason to bring in TES now. No reason to prolong this, let winter come, destroy evidence, torment the family more... No reason to just hope something will happen. IMO.

I would love to know more details about the workings of a dam.

I could see LE telling Elaine to wait on TES if they believed a body would surface on it's own. And if LE's divers couldn't do much of a search of the lake I doubt TES divers could do any more.

there's always good ol' pride. five local agencies working in concert may not welcome an outside SAR group. not that i believe it's the case, but it's possible.

all9ofus, i'm in the minority as i don't believe he's in or near the lake. is it possible to drive up the 243 towards lemon reservoir undetected? seems very remote and forested.

JMO...thanks in advance and welcome to the forum.

The only reason I could think of is that LE has a very good idea where they think Dylan is and are just waiting to locate him :(

If LE had a very good idea where Dylan is they would have found him.
Why would you wait to locate someone? The sooner you find a missing person, the sooner you can collect evidence.

  • #326
But TES could still help with locating a body couldn't they? Or do they only do search and rescue if they believe someone might still be alive?

No, they search for bodies all the time.

Not true. They did stress that divers could not do a thorough search of the lake. They will never risk another persons life if it's too dangerous.

TES are professionals. It's not LE's problem to worry about TES, TES can do that themselves. They know what they are doing.

Huh? I never said TES didn't know what they are doing. I think they are wonderful. I just said if it was too dangerous for LE's divers I would assume it would be the same for TES' divers.

From TES' page:

Our members come from all walks of life, consisting of business owners, medics, firefighters, housewives, electricians, students, former FBI and law enforcement, current law enforcement, former and current U.S. Marshall, Coast Guard and all walks of military, former and current, on our team.

bbm - Of course not! They're probably not going to throw the housewives in to search the lake (no offense housewives, lol)... but they're professionals, I'll take "all walks of military, former and current" anyday. I was watching a documentary series on Navy SEALS training recently... even some of the early "drop outs" would make excellent searchers. Nothing like borderline torture and punishment as training... a cold lake in Colorado would be a breeze!

Get TES to Colorado ASAP!!

My daughter is a very well trained Paramedic working in NYC. NEVER EVER EVER will her employers ask her to risk her life to save another. If there's any chance the scene is not secure she will not go in....even if it means the person dies.

I can't imagine anyone sending a person in the lake to search for a body if it's too dangerous or their lives could be at risk.

it's new year's eve folks. stop picking on eachother. yeesh.

every article states something different. last seen wearing, last seen in vallecito, last seen at his father's home, last seen at walmart...

here's two examples:

The road is a common route between Durango and Vallecito, where Dylan was last seen.

http://www.9news.com/dontmiss/306868/630/Christmas-without-Dylan

The 13-year-old boy from Monument disappeared from his father's home.
Elaine spent most of the last month in Vallecito, where Dylan was last seen.

.

But i think i read on here that they could go in for 10 mins at a time.

So my argument would be then they should of brought in 100 divers. How hard would it be to get a ton of divers ?

I have a question, was it ever stated that the two pictures of Dylan that were released were in fact from the airport and Walmart? I don't need a link just wondering if the one pic is actually from Walmart. Thanks.

Again, TES would know if its too dangerous or not. It's not like LE would be pulling a person off the street making them to go into a lake.

There's a difference between each article stating something different and combining facts from each article into one fact, unless I'm [still] missing something. Not picking on anyone, asking for clarification.

There are articles online that state he was last seen there with his father.

Perhaps I'm confused?
