Even though MR said Dylan understood he was leaving and would not be back until 11:30ish, perhaps Dylan really didn't understand in his tired, sleeping state. So, when he woke up, he only realizes his dad's gone and doesn't really remember him stating he'd be back to take him to his friend's house. JMO

Happy New Years Websluethers!
(I'm on Atlantic Time)
Not freezing cold. Not by any stretch from someone who lives at 7,900' of altitude in NM. So nice. Best T'day in years.
You/nor I know that MR cell phone worked for texting at his home. IF you know this, please post the link. TIA
ER has no idea where DR was located when she received texts from DR, in the past, since she wasn't there. ... IMO
DR friend R*** was at his grannys. I do not know if that granny was maternal/paternal granny. I do not know if DR had that programmed cell # into his cell? Do you?
So his phone dies, inexplicably. He doesn't remember any numbers, even his mom's home number--so he cannot use the landline. He doesn't know the password to the computer so he can't reach anyone that way. And he doesnt think to try his i-pod to text anyone. And on top of that, he has no recollection of his conversation that morning with his dad. So he packs up everything, doesnt leave a note for his dad, and the first person he runs into [ and the only person to see him apparently] is a cunning kidnapper/killer?
LOL. Anyone can SAY anything on a website. Been there done that when I got stranded in Montana. SAID they had cell service/they didn't.

Look here. FCC towers. Need to use the tools to back up a wee bit to SEE. triangulate that!!
Wow, you got all that from my post? I'm pretty sure that's not what I said.
No, not all from your post. I was just cataloguing the general scenario for what had to happen to put Dylan out in the public and harms way that morning.
LE can't even tell us if the dogs picked up Dylan's scent at his dad's house. All they can tell us is that ALL communication from Dylan ceased a little after 8 pm Sunday night.
But what if none of those things happened? What if he willingly ceased all communication the night before and left Monday morning with someone he trusts very much?
The biggest problem with statistics is that there are always exceptions. If 40% of missing children have been murdered by a parent (I have no idea what the actual numbers are, and I'm too lazy to look them up). that means that 60% of missing children have NOT been murdered by a parent. Even if the numbers were 95% and 5%, it would still mean that some of those children had something else happen, and there's no reason to assume that DR is not among those children. I hope I'm being clear, but I'm probably not. MOO

"Mark said he tried texting Dylan all afternoon in an area with spotty cellphone service. When he didn't hear anything back by late afternoon, he went to Dylan's friend's house in Vallecito"
The whole article is worth a 2nd read.
Public Record ... anyone can do this.... I did nothing special.
